I bet the last thing Jadesprite remembers was being at ground zero for the propsit moon crash landing, and now suddenly she's a kernelsprite and also part becquerel.
Being really shocked seems reasonable. She'll probably calm down once she understands what's happened. Probably.
Interesting! I wonder why she is so angry? I would imagine that Jade would have been able to anticipate any objections she would have, because well... she is Jade, after all

maybe this is all misdirection and in the next panel Jadesprite is all like
THIS IS SO FUCKING AWESOME
and then makes the sky explode with glittering rainbow fireworks and teleports all the Homestickers together including the Davey Dozen so they can pose as a team

Yeah but she and John are both kind of airheaddish.
I wonder if the sprite is upset that it became fused with jade, or if Jade's intelligence allowed the sprite to really comprehend just what a first guardian being prototyped in the first place means.

Or maybe now that the thing is intelligent, It realizes that prototyping something with a dream-self is the worst thing. Could be it. I dunno.
The game has no explicit rule that demands something dead for prototyping. But in practice, the kernelsprite has particular attraction to the deceased or the doomed. Across every session ever played, exceptions to this pattern are extremely rare
Extremely rare is pretty specific! Seems more likely that the inanimate object fall under the dead category than simple just being objects. Besides, Bec was a living creature.
No, they are inanimate objects, not dead. An attraction isn't a need. Bec, the wizard, the doll, the sword in the crow, the frog head, they are all just stuff that was prototyped. You could throw anything in there, why not? The sprite was still prototyped with a dead or doomed thing afterward, nobody in this session is an exception to the pattern.

Uh, one of those things you listed was also dead, Campion.
Dave's sprite was both a dead animal and a doomed futureself. Double whammy!

Well, I'm not entirely sure that I agree, but to go on any further would just be getting too much into the semantics of what Hussie said and no one wants that. All I'll say is that regardless, Bec is not just a "thing" or an object. He's a dog! Inanimate objects cannot be dead or alive by your reasoning, they're just things. But animals can be.
