I've never seen it to the degree that faynor is hyperbolizing, and for the real stuff, people around here generally do a lot better than what you said but a simple
"aw that sucks, hugs"
or something
man that's just good-natured feeling and you shouldn't be annoyed by that
there needs to be an institution in place to judge these hugs, is all I'm saying
an institution with the power to do something about it
but for real, it is a really obnoxious and completely overused facet of conversation that quite a few people do here and I don't think it's as kind as you portray it to be!
