Whaaa? Damn, somehow I missed Mass Effect 2 on the list. I'm sure it'll get more than enough first place votes, but still, out of the meager number of games I've played this year, it deserved a vote.

Really happy to see Sin and Punishment 2 getting some love. It really is one of the best games on the system, and the type of game where the Wii's control style really shines. I'm bummed Red Steel 2 isn't getting more love, though. I admittedly was a little hesitant to check it out after the first game, but the two really have very little in common. Honestly, I think Ubisoft should have just gone with a new moniker for the game. I would not be the least bit surprised to find out that going with the RS brand actually hurt sales.

I tried not to think too much about the ordering, but still did some fiddling around. I could see my placement of one game and including another whatsoever upsetting some people, but whatever.

And I musta missed megaman 10, so throw that in probably after kirby then. There were probably a few other games I got that came out in 2010 not on the list (Blaster Master Overdrive was 2010 wasn't it?), but I just can't remember. It also seems for me (as with others) that I've been playing mainly older games and then some from 2009. I started using good old games and got several games from there. I completed Blood and its expansion in 2010 for example.

Yes, I really did like FFXIII the best, but ME2 wasn't too far behind. I realize FFXIII had a ton of problems, but I just prefer the JRPG type of game, I guess. Really don't know what to say, but I asked myself what I honestly had more fun with, and it was FFXIII. I feel bad for having Breath of Death so low, but I suppose when you think that it was so cheap compared to everything else it really can't be compared at all.

You and me Radikal, fighting the good fight. Well sort of, FF13 was 3rd on my list behind ME2 in first and Scott Pilgrim in second. River City Ransom was my favorite Nintendo game way back when and Scott Pilgrim just hit all the right notes for me or FF13 would have taken second.

Huh. In retrospect, 2010 was a pretty terrible gaming year for me. I had a bit less time for gaming than usual, and the vast majority of the big releases just failed to interest me enough to pay $50-60 for them. I've picked up a large number of games showing up on other people's lists in the last month while on Steam/Amazon sales (ME2, FO:NV, JC2, etc...) but haven't had the time to play them yet.

Some of the big games that I did pick up and play through either had too many issues or just plain weren't good enough for me to call them any sort of game of the year (RB3, Alpha Protocol, others...).

I ended up with 3 games of a high enough quality to warrant consideration that I feel like I played enough of: Starcraft 2, God of War III, and Civilization V. I spent considerably more time on a variety of older games than I did on anything else from 2010, apparently. And yet I am overwhelmed by the number of 2011 releases I expect to purchase at or near release. Strange.

I voted I don't remember exactly how I voted past the top 3 but it was something like this

    Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
    Mass Effect 2
    Battlefield: Bad Company 2
    Minecraft
    Blur
    World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
    Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
    Yakuza 3
    Bayonetta
    Darksiders
    Starcraft 2
999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
    Halo Reach
    Super Street Fighter 4
Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars

More surprising is the games I didnt get to play (ones I actually own or owned are bolded its sad I know) because of un-reccomendations:
Alan Wake Bought the CE and never played it traded it in but kept the CE goodies
    Deathsmiles
    Fable 3
    Force Unleashed 2
    Lost Planet 2

    or time
    3d Dot game Heroes
    Mod Nation Racers

    Valkyria Chronicles 2
    Vanquish
    Enslaved
    Trauma Team
    Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions
    NBA Jam
    Dead Rising 2
    Deadly Premonition

or the ones I started to play and decided they weren't worth my time

Heavy Rain (just not my thing)
Monster Hunter Tri (couldnt put the time in)
Supreme Commander 2 (Want less Bullshit more Total Annhiilation)
New Vegas (FUCK YOU Obsidian make a fucking game that works for once.)
Black Ops (Officially done with CoD Now)
MAG (too hectic wasnt my thing)
Infinite Space (to much trial and error)
God of War 3 (still think the first is the best too samey for me)
Final Fantasy 13 (Just fuck you Square I'm done with you wasting my time on anything Final Fantasy till Versus and even then rental before buy.)
Final Fantasy 14 (Some how more of a clusterfuck then New Vegas)
Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City (great concept just cant put the time into it)
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies ( I want to like you I do but just cant)
Bioshock 2 (got halfway through and just didnt think it was good enough)

Red Ded is a special mention cause I do thnk its a truly great game its got Rockstar Syndrome where it just goes on WAY to long and I lose interest.

Also Civ 5 is great but I haven't put enough time into it for any kind of Opinion

    1. Sin and Punishment: Successor of my heart (Wii)
Playing this game is as easy as breathing, figuratively speaking, it's rather challenging difficulty wise. What gave it the edge over SMB is that it's simply my favorite game this gen.

    2. Super Meat Boy (360*,PC*)
    3. Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)
    4. Costume Quest (PS3*,360*)
    5. Nier (360,PS3)
    6. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (360,PS3)
    7. Alpha Protocol (360,PC,PS3)
    8. VVVVVV (PC*)
    9. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle (Wii)
    10. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (360,PC,PS3)

I don't think anything besides Starcraft 2 or Mass Effect 2 will win.

Minecraft will do well, I think.
    Thanks! You voted for:
    Starcraft 2 (PC)
    Minecraft (PC*)
    Mass Effect 2 (360,PC)
    Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (360,PS3)

It just now occurs to me how few games I played this year that were actually from this year.

I think Mass Effect 2 is going to beat Starcraft 2.

For those who like Starcraft, Starcraft 2 shits all over Mass Effect, but I think the number of people who like RTS's/Starcraft isn't high enough to compete with the people who like games like Mass Effect 2 given that the ME style of gameplay is more appealing to a wider range of people.

For example, I love RTSes and I love Starcraft, so for me SC2 shits on ME2 completely, even though I love both ME1 and 2.

But for someone who doesn't like RTSes they aren't going to think SC2 is better than ME2, even if they didn't like ME as much as I did.

    I hope that makes sense.

You basically just said "Mass Effect 2 is more popular than StarCraft II"

    Which is pretty much correct

    In non-Korea, anyways
