Ive been looking at a lot of concept art for video games recently and i really find some of the work absolutely beautiful but i don't know how its made. so I'm asking anyone who can answer me what medium is used in the following pictures? is it something that you would use a program like photo shop for or is it possible that works like these can be made by hand? If anyone can also point me in the direction to any tutorials that can teach me the basics of the tools used for these following images that is also greatly appreciated.

And second, these are made on computer (you got that right I think) probably using either photoshop or painter. Should you not own any of these programs then gimp is a suitable (and free) alternative. It will take some time to learn this but you can find tutorials all over the internet for this.
