I feel like such a nerd. I totally just preordered this book from Border's right now. Thank you, e-mail alerts. I swear, they better have it ready on the day of release.
No but seriously you never get an entire race of people who are 'ugly' or 'good-looking' and the ratio evens out pretty much everywhere
Believe me, the whole "British lads are ugly" myth helps you blokes more than it hurts you. It actually amplifies your attractiveness by association because expectations aren't as high. Plus the accent turns young American birds into melted butter. Any American male who has ever faked a British accent to a girl can attest to this.

You could have preordered it at Barnes and Noble back when they announced the title.

Barnes and Nobles is lame. Also the Border's is a block away from my house. And their Border's reward program is awesome, it gave me $30 in Holiday Savings Dollars to use between the months of November and January, all for spending my money at Border's year round. It goes well with my awesome Border's visa card. I just received a $50 Border's Gift Certificate last week, and spent it on some great comics and books.

But you could have still preordered it months ago.

What part of Border's is awesome do you not get?
I thought we were talking about preordering? I'm so confused!
It's hard to understand how interest in this series can last so long. I mean, it's just that one guy coming back in some way every book, right? And Hermione dying over and over (according to this forum).
have you ever watched/read any series of anything ever
only good ones, apparently

Do you work at a Border's?
Because I was thinking about applying for a job there soon.
Okay so there is a tuxedo (or at least the major components thereof) for sale at the Salvation Army around me, and I am seriously thinking of getting it for just wearing around because I mean it is only forty bucks that isn't all too bad. Is this a good idea or a bad one?

I work at Borders. And I just want to say (to this entire quote tree) that there is no damn apostrophe in Borders.
Not really interested in the actual Harry Potter series, but I hope the "Wizard People, Dear Reader" (http://www.illegal-art.org/video/wizard.html) does his thing with the rest of the movies.

My particular store is very slow and boring, which was nice at first but is rapidly becoming mind-numbing. I imagine if you apply at a busy store, it would be a lot more interesting. The discount is nice -- 33% on books and CDs, and 15-20% on DVDs, I can't remember which, for the first six months; then after that it drops to 25% but they give you a $30 gift card every month.

I think it's 18 in my store, but it varies from state to state.

Just out of curiosity, do they let employees borrow books?
When I was looking into a job with Barnes and Noble years ago, one of the perks was that they let you take books in your sections home with you. The theory was that you'd have a better chance of knowing what the fuck you were talking about if a customer asked you a question. Seemed like a good idea to me.

I actually worked at Barnes & Noble for two years. The book borrowing program is the same at Borders, with the exception that at B&N, you could only borrow hardcovers, while at Borders you can borrow any book format.
