The DSiXL spoiled me. I'm not sure I can stomach going back to the 3DS with it's tiny, tiny screen. Wonder if they're going to do a 3DSXL...

I will take anything back but i would prefer
Spirtomb, gorebyss, huntail, and any starters.
I would also like to do a trade back for Darkrai and Arceus and i have no problem taking clones just not hacked pokes.

Would love one of the Pikachus. Can offer Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Cyndaquil babies, as well as a Darkrai (And maybe an Arceus, can't remember if I still have him around).

If you talking about a Darkrai trade that would be awesome, if you talking about a tradeback, cool i will take Bulb after the trade back. Give me a time for the trade and which pika you want

Yeah, you can keep the Darkrai. He's not getting any use sitting around in my box :)
Would 4:00 today or tomorrow work? Also, the third pika would be great.

I've got all of the Shiny Beasts spare (I have Platinum and HeartGold, so got them all twice) if anyone wants to trade within the next half hour. I'd love any other event pokemon with in-game effects.

    PM me if you're interested.

Edit: After half an hour is fine too, but it may take like a day for me to get back to you.

Playing Leaf Green with only one Pokemon kinda turns the game into Easy Mode. I haven't even faced Surge yet and Charizard's already at level 41. I OHKO'd Misty's Starmie with flamethrower.

the people who say anything after red is "teh gay" are most likely people who think power rangers sucks after the first season ignoreing facts like how some of the latter saban seasons have overall better story and characters (bennent from commando was a villein in time force> coneboobs)

and for the "they look like digimon" is funny since the digimon cartoon was way better then the pokemon cartoon. well adventures 1 and tamers was good.

i just hate it when people are blinded by their childhood about how their show was the best and how every kid show that come on after their grown out of kids show suck. and yes i did find it funny since the images i saw of black and white look good.

What determines how much XP a wild Pokemon will give when defeated in battle? I know that when you battle another trainer you get more XP. I'm talking about wild pokemon here. How come I can fight a level 25 Pokemon of one type and only get like 243 XP, and fight another level 25 Pokemon of a different type and get like 700 XP. I don't understand the system at all.

Also, where is a good place in HG/SS to do some leveling? I'm wanting to go out and do some random battles to get a few evolutions to fill out my pokedex. I have 7 gym badges currently and I'm in the 8th town so most of the Johto region is open to me.

Opponent XP is based on what base form the pokémon has multiplied by the level.

Fully evolved, high level pokémon are best for leveling, which is why the e4 are such good experience.

Differences in base form experience is why trying to level on the level 80+ magikarps in Platinum does not work. The weaker the pokemon, generally the less exp you get.

So in the case of a single-form pokemon, I guess they yield better results? In the mid-game, like around 4 or 5 badges, I was in an area with a good amount of Stantler in the grass and I got some pretty good leveling out of them.

That makes sense. I was wondering the same thing about exp differences.

I'm in the same place as Lucascraft in Silver but have a different question:

Safari Zone. WTF. I get the whole "place items around areas to attract different pokemon thing", but how do you ever catch anything in the safari zone? Is there a strategy to making sure they don't run and stay caught?

and in Remakes/third versions, unlock their final versions and beat them over and over.

I still don't get why anyone would advise grinding for money anywhere else when the E4 is easily the best combination of exp and money. Would you rather walk around charging up the versus seeker to rob some old people or just walk in a straight line getting slightly less money and a whole lot more exp? Yeah, that's what I thought.

    Exp and money though.

I always have something that could use some switch in exp or some exp share, whether for getting egg moves or for getting level up moves on trained pokemon. The money is just nice for vitamins, especially in HG/SS which doesn't have the villa money sinks.

I'm old school, so I usually hit the Elite 4. The last extensive use of the VS Seeker from me was back in Fr/Lg, and even then most while leveling up during the story (especially on that trainer with the high-level Butterfree right before Vermillion). The Phone Call system I got a lot out of, but I've since ignored all calls once achieving "Finished" status. Plus it it takes some know-how in finding the right days to call/get called on.

Despite that, having all those options available to you is a smarter idea than dropping them for one thing and one thing only.

DS-to-DS local wireless is separate from infrared. Infrared is its own special channel. HeartGold and SoulSilver DS game cards have an infrared sensor inside. This is how they communicate with the Pokéwalkers, which also have IR built in. Notice that HG/SS DS game cards are black instead of the regular dark-gray DS game cards. Black and White also have IR built in for all the C-Gear stuff.

Elite Four takes longer and only yields around P60,000. In D/P, you can hit up the Gentleman or Socialite on Route 212 for P24,000 each. The Vs. Seeker only requires 100 steps to recharge. It only takes a few seconds on the Bicycle to charge. In under an hour, I can get P999,999. I've been doing this for the past few weeks to buy all the Ribbon Syndicate ribbons for each of my Pokémon. Watching TV while doing this takes the edge off the tedium, but it's the quickest way to make money in my experience.

    1. Go to a place with Wi-Fi access.
    2. Configure your DS Wi-Fi connection and make sure it can connect with your Wi-Fi hotspot.
    3. In your Pokémon game, go to any Pokémon Center and go downstairs to the Wi-Fi club and allow the game to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. This will synchronize your game to this specific DS. If you play your game in another DS, you'll have to re-synchronize your game and the new DS.
    4. After you've synched your game, save and restart your game and go to the title screen.
    5. From the main menu, select "Mystery Gift". Make sure you have no more than two Wonder Cards.
    6. Select "Receive Gift", "Get Via Nintendo WFC", then "Yes" to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Your DS should then connect online via Wi-Fi and download the Mystery Gift.
    7. Load your game then go to any Poké Mart and talk to the man in green clothes to receive your Mystery Gift.

Save before talking to the man in green clothes so you can reset for better IVs for your Shiny Suicune.

You forgot these steps. At least if you have D/P/P.

    1) Go to the Jubilife TV station in Jubilife City.
    2) Go to the 3rd floor.
    3) Talk to the man in the lower room (he's on the left).
    4) The first two words you tell him are "everyone" and "happy".
    5) the second two words are "Wi-Fi" and "Connection".
    6) This will then unlock the Mystery Gift feature on the main menu.
