Q1) Old!Missile acquires wisdom as the years advance. 10 years is a long time in dog years! Presumably over the course of those years he figured out what precisely the '4 minutes ago' dealy was and managed to reason out that he could change the timeline at least a little. Not implausible with that amount of time.
Q2) No, we don't see Sissel's body anywhere else; presumably Yomiel ditches it when he realises that Sissel is dead.
Q3) Yeah, I was all up for one of those too. Especially when Yomiel starts looking directly at you when you 'trick' in front of him... missed opportunity thar.
I was enjoying it a fair amount through most of the game, but my enjoyment and overall appreciation of it shot up a lot towards the end.
Very, very good.
Man, on being corrected twice, I'd LIKE to pretend that it was a mistype, but unfortunately the K key is nowhere near the Y key on the keyboard. Blame it on ... well, blame it on ... err ... something bsides my bad memory :P
I wonder though, speaking of names ... is there anything in
The name of the sub and the name of the antagonist being fairly similar? I did wonder at the start, and probably should have thought of it more as I was typing the post, but Youma and Yomiel ... do they have any meaning in Japanese or anything like that? Wait ... hmmm, Claymore references coming to me, isn't Youma like Demon or Devil ... or is that just Claymore's specific term for them?

The name Yomiel was dervied from the Japanese word Yomigaeru(蘇る) which means "to resurrect".
Enjoying the game so far, but it's doing that thing where it presents something really obvious and then tries to make me feel shocked by revealing what I had already figured out.
Just finished the game. There were a few story elements I wish were different:
Ray should have turned out to be Yomiel's fiancee, Sissel, who committed suicide. She could have killed herself near the body, and there you go. Ghost powers. Keep all the stuff about going back 10 years and waiting it out. Then she should have appeared at the end when Yomiel was released from jail. Tearful reunion, and everything.
So around chapter 15 (EDIT: 14), obviously not done with the game yet, but this is what I want to see happen at some point:
A vengeful ghost sees the things Sessel is doing, events he's preventing, and attempts to bring Sessel back to life to negate everything he's done, which you have to stop from happening in an ultimate ghost-vs-ghost match.
I will probably not read any replies to this until I beat the game, just wanted to say it and get it out of my head.
Well, that was exactly how to structure and pace an adventure game. Never mind matching up against the current state of the gerne, Takumi's made most of Lucasarts' back catalogue look clunky.
Now, do we want a sequal?
On the one hand, I'm all for giving the guy full creative freedom if he can do this with it.
On the other hand (ENDING SPOILERS)
having a title where you play as cat-Sissel from the beginning has some appeal to it
Ghost Trick was good, with really charming characters, an engaging plot, and awesome music, but I ended up disappointed in the end. Too many things didn't make any sense.
FINAL SPOILERS:
Plotting: The twists were mostly predictable. My initial guess was that Sissel was one of the cat's nine lives, seeing how it walks away. This was extra confirmed after seeing the video of the shooting, because the off shot is directly going towards the kitty carrier. Only after it reveals that the manipulator can possess people did I realize that Yomiel left the scene in Sissel's body... but then why does Cat-Yomiel come back to the scene of the crime to mew? That makes no goddamn sense. He also didn't apparently notice the dancing lamp either.
Pacing: The pace of the game was too quick. There was no time to pause and reflect, which helped set up the oh shit moments in Phoenix Wright. Here, you just jump from puzzle to puzzle, and when they present someone that is supposed to be shocking they just quickly shuffle past it.
Worthless Homeland Security: "The foreign country couldn't steal the Temsik meteor because our agents are watching the Park. Oh, the daughter of a manipulator victim is getting kidnapped in this Park by someone who we know is making a deal tonight relating to Temsik? NOT OUR PROBLEM!"
Too short/linear: The ending sequence just got tossed at you without a decent set up. It should have been the most complicated and difficult puzzle, but instead it was something like a four step puzzle with the last part of it being given to you. Yomiel just outright tells you what to do with no way for you to really screw it up.
Inconsistent characterization: The blue kidnapper guy was portrayed as a nice but bumbling goon. Then he outright MURDERS THE FUCK OUT OF INNOCENT MISSILE. It was also nice of Yomiel in the first cycle to continue working with the foreign country after noticing that they're screwing with his revenge plan by KILLING LYNNE.
Cabanela appeared to be in this category but his motivations were explained very nicely. He was one of the few characters with a lot of depth. Other than the fact that he LEFT HIS GUN WITH A SUSPECT for no damned reason. Why would a detective even put his gun down? "Now watch over my baby, that's a gooooooood lad."
No manipulator battles: I would have liked to see a scenario where you had to outwit Beauty's sixth sense. A puzzle with lots of long solutions, but you had to complete it within a certain number of steps or she would detect you. The kidnapping pair just disappeared late game and then ended up... breaking into a bank?
It's a shame you couldn't do a manipulator battle with Yomiel either, because Yomiel tells you that he couldn't manipulate objects like you could, like turning the Cupid to make an impossible move or swivelling the desk lamp to knock the gun out of Cabanela's hand...wait a minute...
Same world as Phoenix Wright: Yomiel really should've hired Phoenix Wright. Before travelling back in time, Jowd states that he was able to clear Yomiel's name [strike]5 years[/strike] 6 months after his death, even though he was acting like a criminal in the end. But after travelling back in time, with Yomiel risking his life to save Lynne, I guess Jowd says "SEE YA SUCKER" and lets Yomiel rot in jail for 10 years.
So... is the magatama made of temsik and Mia's ghost trick is to possess girls and make them have huge tits?

With the argument against the linearity, thats just the nature of these kind of games. Not much you can do to change that. I'll agree the pacing was kinda poor though.
For the last point./ - He was in jail for the running from police/stealing a gun/kidnapping/threatening life of Lynne and Jowd, not because of being a spy. That was actually only 6 months after that they cleared that up. If that had been the reason he was still in jail, he would have likely received the life sentence or at the very least not been in jail for only 10 years.
Ghost Trick was good, with really charming characters, an engaging plot, and awesome music, but I ended up disappointed in the end. Too many things didn't make any sense.

1)When does he come back to the scene of the crime? Also, Ray probably just stays still when Yomiel hangs around.
2) I rather liked the rollicking pace
3) The agent in the park at the time was in the toilet
4) I'll fold on that one.
5) The only person the dapper chapper interacts with is the laaaadies. There's no reason he can't not give a shit about dogs. Yomiel also gets distracted by the business of having to get his body back and most likely wants to get out of the country before the deal expires, having attracted a great deal more attention than he was planning to do.
6) Manipulator battles would have been awesome, but Yomiel never said anything about not being able to manipulate objects - witness the Junk!Yomiel in the sub later in the game.
7) He was found innocent of spying six months after he died, but he got 10 years for breaking out of police custody, stealing a gun, threatening an officer, and taking a hostage.
Also the Megatama being made of Temsik is an awesome idea
Alright, one last time here, still not reading any spoilers. I might have my identity figured out.
Late chapter 16, I think, I got to watch that "security footage" scene again, and the real man in red talks about how he controlled the girl to shoot himself. And the first shot missed...
Whatever it hit died, and that's the spirit I've been playing...
...I've been a tiny black cat the whole time, haven't I?
When I saw the footage later of the cat knocking the body over, that was the man in red controlling its body, while I was out roaming around and confused.
Makes me wonder if I've saved exactly nine lives throughout the game (perhaps not including the ones Missile saved).
Even if I'm totally wrong, it's fun to think about. I'll see if I can beat the game first thing tomorrow...

Characterization:
Just because he treats ladies nice doesn't mean he needs to care about a random dog running around the park. Why would he?
Also, Yomiel shouldn't have really cared if they killed Lynne, seeing as how he hated her for being available to be taken as a hostage. Dying vs. getting accused of murder.
No manipulator battles: I would have liked to see a scenario where you had to outwit Beauty's sixth sense. A puzzle with lots of long solutions, but you had to complete it within a certain number of steps or she would detect you. The bank section was from the fixed timeline, so presumably they are (were?) in a different line of business.
Also, the game points out that powers from the Temsik meteor change over time. Yomiel started out only being able manipulate bodies, but later he gained the ability to manipulate objects. Missile-prime also points out that originally he could only swap objects but later learnt how to manipulate objects as well.
Can I get a hint or a nudge in the right direction without giving away the solution totally? I feel like I'm missing something really obvious and dumb. Chapter 14.
So I've been playing around with the baseball, the basketball, and the tire on the teeter-totter, but I keep getting the same result, whatever I use just lands right by Crazy Dude's feet before he dies.
I feel like I'm supposed to use the teetertotter to catapult something with Sissel in it up so that he can get to the items in the tree and do something to knock the rugby ball down. But every time Crazy Dude triggers the teeter-totter, I don't have access to ghost mode until the ball lands.

Assuming I remember this puzzle correctly
You have the right idea about needing to catapult something but Sissel can get into the tree without it.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. That's all I needed.
It finally arrived in the mail today, and the case is all crunched up the top. I think it must be a little too big for my mail slot, so it's been forced through, and now it's in the worst condition of any of my games.
My copy of this arrived today! I won't get to play it until I get a 3DS (or get a used DSLite after several weeks of 3DSes being sold out everywhere and being tired of waiting), but I figure this'll be one of those games that gets more expensive with age.
Changing Missle and Kamilla's fate in the apartment
Holy hell, the solutions are so over the top in this game. What's crazy is you could end up doing something wrong, and miss out on a chain of events that alters the "fate"... There's gonna be a lot of those, isn't there?
How do I stop this murder machine? It seems like I need to use the shovel somehow, but it doesn't seem to interact with the ball (I tried using it to hit the ball) and once I swing it I'm stuck on that part of the screen. Help?
EDIT: Nevermind, got it, I had the right idea but had to wait until it had stopped apparently.

Not much, actually. The game is linear enough that if you get a "Fate changed!" message you know you're in the right track, plus the game will outright tell you if you screwed up and can't save your target anymore in advance. Things like failing to change a certain event that locks you out of the fate alteration, or just moving to the wrong place and getting stuck. That was a thing I loved from that game.

Cool, another important question:
Is that rich woman's husband gonna be important, later? I thought about transferring there out of curiosity, but Sissel basically explained that Lynn was more important at the moment.
