WPL to EPL is herb heaven. Got nearly Outland herbing ready, with a short pit stop in the Swamp of Sorrows beforehand.
Also good for mining; nearly never made it to EPL because of compulsive mining disorder. There's iron everywhere and especially round the two cliffs in the middle of the map. Also plenty of mithril in the second/northen half of EPL.
So, my guild organized an off-night raid with a tank who's not in our normal raid tonight, and it was pretty fun.
It was our first time doing the Throne of the Four Winds, and both of the fights there, combined with the zero trash, made it a really fun night.
The Conclave of Wind is really easy, but also really damn fun. Very much a fight that requires every DPS to know what they fuck they're doing and pay attention, because the race to down the North platform guy once the other two are killed is terribly unforgiving. You need to down the East/West REALLY close to simultaneously, and then dump damage into the North guy like you've never done before.
And Al'Akir is just a fun fucking fight. Tons of shit happening, everyone's got a challenging job, and... yeah. I haven't had that much fun wiping on new content in a long time. I think we wiped 28 times to Al'Akir, all told, and by the end I wasn't pissed at all.
However, the bug where he occasionally turns and melees someone while channeling Electrocution into the tank is pretty infuriating.
I wish we had managed to get him down, instead of just making it to phase 3 a couple of times, but it was like 12:30 AM by that time and people were losing it.
My biggest regret for the raid is that we were going to attempt Chimaeron, and if we had gotten him down in addition to conclave, we'd be ranked 18th on the server, instead of 23rd like we will be once wowprogress gets around to updating.
It's hilarious looking at my server on that site, though. HORDE HORDE HORDE HORDE HORDE. Something about an 80%/20% population imbalance has made the Alliance just completely give up... except for us.
As I missed out on TB christmas time, I'm behind the curve in terms of PvP gear (it's taking forever; why is this grind so long?).
Did a WSG last night, our FC gets killed, and their FC is in their tunnel. I rush ahead and pick up the flag, as insurance, and we kill theirs. We all run out, at which point one guy goes "hey you've not got much health or resilience and you've got the flag"
I say "well, someone with better gear can come along and take the flag off me" to which I got zero response.
It's not like I'm slumming it on purpose, but with 20 min queues, then 20 min games giving out 200ish resilience for the first game, and around 150 after that, if I'm lucky, then I doubt I'll be geared in time before the next expansion.
(I fully expect Blizz to nerf the number of conquest points you get in a game; you get them far too quickly in comparison to this silly honor grind. What was the point in changing the point scale when it's still a long grind?)

Unlikely. While you get Conquest points fast, the weekly cap makes it so that you still take very long to get gear. It's sort of balanced that way. (I agree that Honor gain is too low)

Don't get me wrong, I like being able to do 5 games and hit the cap, and get my weapons in 3 weeks worth with some change. Just I really hope they don't compare it to the honor gain, and think it needs to be more in line with that (25 conquest points for the first daily win? what's the point in that really?).

Yes, the 25 conquest points/day are just Blizz trolling us. The cheapest items are the relics iirc, and they cost 700 points, which comes down to a month of daily BG grinding. That's ridiculous. I'd rather have them award 25 more honor than 25 useless Conquest points.
I was in a heroic tott last night that was just pain. Every boss was just not enough dps, I know I was hitting hard, but I swear the lock and mage must have been wanding or something. Didn't help the tank was in mostly greens, pvp blues (not socketed naturally) and the warlock was wearing a chefs hat for some odd reason (not the first time I've seen that but I never understand why people do it? Trolling?)

Man that sucks, I've always felt tott to be one of the easiest heroic instances too (besides the fucking goblin pulls fuck those pulls)

As I think it's been mentioned in one of these threads, I think the best way to deal with the damage they put out on the pull, is to just send in a pet for it, and have them eat the damage.

I've seen a lot of mages aggro and immediately ice block -- not much help if you haven't got a mage in your group, naturally, but it works!

I always just shield wall the pulls or charge and immediately hit intimidating shout, also shockwaving instantly can help too, if intimidating shout is on cd. I still hate the pulls though because they can still be so nasty.

Yeah we didn't do the third boss, which eventually caused the druid healer and his shitty warlock guildy to leave because he needed it or something? I tried to tell him if we couldn't kill the last boss we wouldn't stand a chance on the trash and the third boss.

wow, they removed the mage quests that Tabetha used to give out? That sucks.
They actually made it a point to remove many of those types of class quests, and I'm not sure why. Maybe because of randomly getting a quest in an area you've never been before just to do one thing was very "old wow" and didn't fit in with their "move from adjacent zone to adjacent zone and each one has a coherent story" flow of the new world

It also wasn't fair to the classes that had them vs the ones that didn't. All class get quests at 20, and 50, which is a little more fair.

For the time involved vs how long you're actually using the items it wouldn't have been worth it. Hell people are still bitching about Cata's lack of content.

All old class quests were nixed and replaced with level 20 and 50 dungeon quests that you get from your trainers.
Guys the 25 "arena" points on daily BGs was implemented in WotLK more as a way to get the last few points for an item if you were just a bit short from the previous week, since you used to get points in one big lump on Tuesday after rollover rather than immediately once you played the games (and there was no weekly cap.)

Which is silly, when you consider that Cataclysm probably has significantly more content from top to bottom than any of their expansions to date.
My first two max level characters were Druid and Shaman. I know about some terrible quest design. Want to know the real reason Shaman didn't heal in early Vanilla? Water Totem quest line.

Does that mean Verigan's Fist is gone? That's too bad, I'm glad I still have that and the Blood-Tempered Ransuer in my Banks

Its because they gave part of it away for free, so people don't think of the vanilla upgrade as part of cata.

I have a bunch of alts I'm leveling through until their rested xp runs out and I got to 24 on my rogue. Went to the trainer and he had a new dialogue option.
"Give it to me."
lolz, okay. Then he gives me a letter which says it's a quest item. Except there's no quest, and it's not a use: item. one quick trip to wowhead later I see it's not in the game. Funny I still got the letter.
Also while I enjoy the idea of the level 20 quests, with heirlooms they're not worth doing, obviously. I was skeptical about "fast leveling" but I swear that I gain at least 1 level every time I'm in a dungeon and the queue even for dpses is only like 15 minutes or something. I'm not a fan of questing but at least the questing is more hubbish and less scattered.
If you're looking to actually fully enjoy the pace of the content, do it without heirlooms.
Between their raw power and the experience bonus, heirlooms make shit FAST. Between being able to one-two shot everything and the experience bonus you get from everything, you're going to have to skip a good many quests, which if it's your first time through the redone areas, you owe it to yourself not to do.
Well it's a little late but I am going to check my abannoned paladin to see if I can still get the Verigan's Fist
Most of the class quests were kind of fun and interesting I am still upset they removed the leaf and eye from Molten core but still left in the other half

If you're determined to see a zone's questlines through, or do dungeon runs for gear and don't want to go up, like, three levels in an hour, turn off your XP gains in Stormwind or Org. I've taken to doing that when I get near the upper level limit for a zone so I can finish up there.

What I dislike about the herilooms is with the new dungeon bags you get until Northrend some of that gear is better for the level than the heriloom gear
My blood elf priest was doomed to wear his ghostlands gear until I stepped into outland good thing I was double boxing otherwise it would have been beyond painful
