    Hey, I downloaded the classic client, downloaded the IPY patch, but for some reason on the auto patch its showing the modern UO, with an advertisement for the High Seas thing. I installed UO, used the patch in the instructions, and am now at the auto patch thing.

    Let it patch - if you've done it right it will autopatch once, then "fail" and say that you can continue. Press ok and just log in with a name and pw and it will then put you through.

    First Fancy Lad house placed yesterday! I'll post pics later. Stone is pending. If you guys are looking to hook up, hop in vent. It seems like only a fraction of the guild uses vent right now, but a lot of people are in irc.

    Ok, I downloaded the patches for the modern UO, and I'm now redoing the IPY patch thing. This is after I am up to date with the modern UO.

    Edit: Realized I fucked up, uninstalled UO, going to reinstall it, do the IPY patcher, try to stop it from using EA patcher, and I'll see what goes on from there.

    I'm really torn on my build, I'm thinking

    Musicianship
    Provocation
    Fencing
    Anatomy
    Tactics
    Magery
    Some amount of Magic resist
    Some amount of wrestling

    That or dropping magery/wrestling for healing and getting another bard skill like peacemaking.

    What does discordance do?

    I believe it lowers the resistances on whoever you use it on, not too sure. I think it may make taming creatures easier.

    From what I'm seeing on the IPY forums, see-sawing stats is incredibly slow, and there may even be a minimum skill level you have to reach before you can begin gaining stats from it.

    Edit: Yep, skills will not produce stat gains 1-10.

    I did the IPY Patcher, but the game is still using the EA Auto patcher. I don't get it.

    I went to the EA folder where the UO folder is, and I looked through the UO folder, but there's no icon or file that helps me either.

    It doesn't say EA auto patcher, just UO auto patch, but once I let the patching be done it shows the login screen and says UO with whatever version it is, but no IPY anywhere on the login screen.

    However, the patch notes are small in number for some reason. It says something about 69.6 notes.

    Edit: There is a client. However ,when I run it it says "Can't open fonts mul."
    There's only Ultima Online Legacy folder that has a *User* folder, which is inside an EA games folder, and this is the re-downloaded one.

    Update: Installed Razor, set it to auto detect, put in the port, seeing what happens.

    Update 2: Found the folder, not in my account folders where I thought it was.

    Think I'm either going to make a bard or a swordsman.

    I started with 50 magery and 50 resist. Trained musicianship up to 61 trying to get my dex up, but seeing how quick it raised I may just make a provoker for money.

    Buddy of mine got temp-banned last night.

    Was out west of Britain mining with some random dude when a GM showed up. Apparently the other guy paged bitching about slow skill gains. The GM said something along the lines of, "That's how we do it here, so deal with it. Whining about skill gains is not the right thing to page about anyway. Do it again and I'll ban you. Consider this your warning."

    My buddy said, "Jeez, no need to be a dick about it."

    Bam. Teleported to jail, connection lost, "this account has been banned" when he tried to log back in. His other two accounts worked from his alternate IP however.

    Watch what you say, I guess.

    With thousands of users on at a given time, and a handful of volunteer GM's/Counselors, yeah, paging a GM and bitching about skillgain is a pretty dumb thing to do. I can only imagine the number of pages they get a day about it.

    Yeah actually that doesn't sound too bad - paging a GM to bitch is an incredibly retarded thing to do... so the GM is already coming in annoyed, your friend then added in his 2 cents which was not going to solve anything and more than likely would just inflame the situation.

    Your friend scolding a GM for being "a dick" is... well lets just say he chose a poor set of words in this instance - a GM being a dick to someone who is massively wasting his time is probably warranted in doing so anyway. If I were a GM I would be very very tempted to auto-jail anyone bitching about slow skill gains via page.

    GMs have more than enough problems without being badgered by whiners as well.

    No.

    Still "Cant open Fonts Mul." message.

    Although because I turned on the Patcher for just 30 seconds, maybe that screwed up and something is happening. I'll try uninstalling and re-installing.
