This should be fairly straightforward - having never ever attempted to buy a picture frame before, I'm now in a position whereby I need 2 12"x16" frames for some pictures I've recently come into possession of.
Problem is that I'm on a budget and am not looking to spend in excess of £10/frame. Can anyone recommend some sites(or bricks and mortar shops that I might not have considered) that might cater for me? Cursory glances through local supermarkets and similar has pulled up very little in the way of frames that measure 12"x16".
12x16 isn't a standard size. Only thing you can really do from a supermarket is get a 16x20 frame with an 8x10 or 11x13 mat and cut the mat out a bit bigger to fit. Which if you're good with a x-acto knife you'd be able to do under budget.
To get a frame that actually fits it, you'd have to go to a custom framer. Some hobby/craft shops do this. If you can find one that does, it'd probably go a bit over budget, but not too bad. Professional framers, art stores, some photographers, photo labs, and printers will also do it, but you're not likely to keep it under budget with them - if I'm close on exchange rates, £10 is about $15 and change.
