Burger 'steamer' bowl thing?

I was watching a cooking show and noticed that they had what basically looked like a small metal bowl-esque item that they put over burgers they were cooking on the grill to help hold in the steam and cook them through more evenly.
I'm not sure if this is an actual thing or just a clever use of a metal bowl, but either way - where can I get something like this? It looks very useful!

Are you going to cook them on the grill/griddle or in a pan?

A restaurant supply store will have a wide variety of sizes of metal mixing bowls. I have a bunch of small ones for my mise en place. I'd think a 1/2-3/4 quart bowl would do. Alternatively you could use a tin pie plate.
I've seen these sort of things, usually on say, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives where the cook will slap something over a burger cooking on the flat top grill and its just your basic metal bowl. Alternatively, just use a lid from a large pot like a dutch oven or stock pot over the pan. I do this with grilled cheese sandwiches, to get the cheese melted fast.
Having worked in restaurants, it's just a metal mixing bowl. Slap it over the burger, use tongs to lift it back off. A domed lid would also work. A lid on the pan may not work as well at they usually have ways for the steam to release.

Found this forum thread while searching for the same thing on Google (on PA forums.. which is rad!) and the term you'll need to look for here is "blasting cover". check out this supplier online:
The term you're looking for is "blasting cover", or at least that's what it's named at most restaurant supply stored.
Alternatively, you could just make your own as previous posters have suggested. I did using aluminum salad bowls and $0.98 cabinet handles from Home Depot. Much cheaper than the $10 most places charge for them.
A great alternative though is an old timey wok cover. Big, has a handle, light as anything beaten piece of aluminium.

I've never seen anyone use one at home - only at a restaurant. Your local restaurant supply store might be the best option.

Alternatively, I made my own using small aluminum mixing bowls ($1.29 ea.) and cabinet knobs from home depot ($0.98 ea).
So either solution would be exactly what you're looking for!
Cheers!
