it had to be damage dealers killing tanks... hell, i had over six hundred ap and i'd probably have to use my entire combo twice and my ignite to kill that shen but he still died every engagement

I'm really starting to think Warwick is not a high tier jungler anymore in the current patch. At the very least he took a huge nerf, between the huge buff to AP casters (burst damage is the enemy of all Warwicks), and most especially, the huge nerf to dragon.
"But he's still such a fast, safe jungler, and is so hard to kill and does so much damage when fed! And his ultimate is awesome for ganks!"
All true, and that's why I will by no means say he's a bad jungler. But here's the thing about Warwick. He has a tipping point. If he's the level of a solo lane, if he has the gold of a solo lane farming well, he becomes a monster in teamfights. If he's behind the solo lanes by a level or two, if he can't stay with the curve in gold, then he just gets gibbed in every. Single. Fight. Before that tipping point, he's good for his ult and one Q, then he's just dead. After that tipping point, he simply doesn't die. He keeps using his Q and auto-attacks over and over again to brutalize people and he could probably win a 1v2 depending on the champions involved.
It's so, so much harder to reach that point now that dragon has been nerfed into the ground. Warwick is a straight-up weak ganker prior to level 6. It's almost not even worth bothering unless you catch people pushed all the way up to a tower while you have red buff running. After 6, he's a good ganker with his ult, but by that time people tend to have wards up and ganking in general becomes very tricky. He still has to get close enough to ult, and that range is not all that far.
So the quandary becomes: You need ganks to get fed and be useful in teamfights. Ganks are really, really hard to come by because your reliance on your ultimate forces you to miss the prime ganking window when champions like Rammus, Eve, and Shaco are going to town. (It used to be while they were going to town and picking up kills, Warwick was soloing the dragon. That was his job, because he couldn't gank, while other junglers could. Now, that doesn't happen anymore.)
I wish Riot would, if not revert the dragon changes, at least lessen them somewhat and try to find a compromise between how dragon was before and how it is now.

So are there some tricks to jungling that I'm missing? I have the basics down and I usually keep up with the duo lanes and that's fine, but every now and then I play against someone (usually a Master Yi) who keeps up with or outlevels the solo lanes and I can't figure out how to get even close to that.
The one I faced last night did get an early kill on me and stole my wraiths once, but we also killed him twice while he tried to take our blue and he still got 2-3 levels up.
I was Nunu, who I know tends to be slower than Yi after the Yi picks up a lantern, but I can't figure out how he got so farmed with barely any successful ganks. My team didn't feed him, but he was stronger than any of their solo laners.

Stealing your creeps, getting successful ganks, keeping their entire jungle cleared as much as possible, and covering a lane are all ways the jungler can keep up.
Pretty much getting ganks is the best way to get levels as a jungler, and make sure to push their tower for exp and gold. It also denies them the same.

Unless you get successful ganks/successful counterjungling/solo lane farming, you will eventually fall behind the solo lanes in experience/gold as the jungler. The main ways to keep up with them or surpass them is to either get lots of kills via ganks, or spend a lot of time covering solo lanes for people while they go gank.
This is because the respawn timers (particularly on the buff camps) are not short enough to allow you to keep up with solo lane exp. That's why you'll sometimes see the faster junglers actually outleveling a solo lane up until level 4 and then going even and gradually falling behind if they don't get good ganks.

Sometimes I miss being able to double/triple/quad stack the jungle.
Nothing is funnier than having a quad stacked hard camp kill an enemy when he unwisely thought he could steal it.
This is how games are lost at champion select. First pick says he wants Kat, I beg him not to, he insta locks kat, second pick insta locks irelia... fuck
Those aren't inherently terrible choices, assuming the rest of the team picks heroes that can complement them.

I don't speak that language.
In HoN, creeps will always spawn in the jungle at :00 if there are no creeps, no corpses, and no ward present at the camp, regardless of whether or not there were any creeps alive.
You could use this to your advantage by pulling creeps away from the camp at :51 or so in order to get a double spawn at that location. If you are adept enough, you can both stack multiple camps at the same time and get multiple stacks on the same camp. Provided you are strong enough or are playing the right character, this would vastly improve your jungle efficiency or even make it possible to do certain camps at all.

The other team was team AoE though so we were fucked. Team Melee vs Team AoE doesn't end well for melee, also the inst lock kat went 0-4 and I died twice saving her, thats what I get for being shen. Never wasting my ult on a diver again.

A melee team can win against an aoe team if they fight on their own teams, either by becoming a roaming gank squad whilst warding the enemy jungle, or by split pushing to force the aoe team to split up.
Pretty general advice yeah but that's all I can really say with a term as vague as "aoe team".

I love it when people bitch about me getting away as Singed and then whine even more when one of my teammates kills them. Look at the Death Recap? Why? I don't even have one, because I'm still alive. Running back and porting. To buy my Rod of Ages. Mmm.
23 assists with Caitlyn laning with me. She would hide in the bushes and I'd bait a bunch of idiots who just had to stand in the fucking purple gas. By the time they reached the ambush point, they were easy kills. None of them expected me to turn back around, either. You can't outrun me now, gentlemen. My feet go eighty miles an hour off-road. I really don't understand why people think katarina is bad
she got crazy buffed a few weeks back and people called it a nerf for no particular reason
I believe it was a mild nerf when you ran the numbers.
But now with deathcap's existence it's a big buff.
numbers aren't the right way to look at it
before if katarina wanted to do damage she had to stack BF swords
now she can get spell vamp AND damage AND a rylai's and it's insane

So freakin sick of 3 tank teams destroying balanced teams. I would so far prefer if they made tanks TANKS instead of giant walking robots in Tokyo. I would still play them, because I enjoy it.
So, anyone else been having issues with Malph's ult? I just ulted a Kat + Trynd and landed right on them, doing no damage and no CC (you may note the two characters involve have no hard CC at all between them).

Kat, Fiddle and Nunu all have a similar factor, which is that their main damage comes from their ultimate, which puts them at great risk using it. In Nunu and Kat's cases, it can be interrupted. But while Nunu is a tanky support, Kat is supposed to be doing damage, and brings nothing to the team if she isn't, so speccing her to survive during the ultimate costs her her role. Fiddle brings a lot of CC to a fight but still isn't great, and only Nunu, with his teammate steroid and short cd slow is really that good.
Kat is, more or less, a shitty Kennen; she has less CC and her burst is focused into one ability, leaving her questionably useful if she misses the ult or has it interrupted.

Sounds a lot like a game I played earlier today, only on the losing side of it. Hey guys! When everyone is mia and Singed is running from our base, it means everyone is behind him and he will throw you at them. I don't know why that trick works more than once.
You didn't get sniped once while running by an enemy Caitlyn, did you?
