What?
The [url=]Mafia[/url] party game. Also known as Werewolf
This is the game that Phalla is based upon. Mafia and Phalla are different beasts however, but if you love one you'll likely enjoy the other.
Also popular is The Resistance, which is a similar party game built around missions and sabotage.
Some extra adventurous hosts may sometimes run Battlestar Galactica.
I know some have even done Twilight Imperium a few times.
Where?
Played real-time using IRC (the original webchat) on the SlashNET servers.

When?
Whenever a host posts that they're holding a session. See further down the OP for scheduled sessions.
(Mafia/The Resistance) For people who don't have a feel for how these run, games last anywhere from ten minutes to half an hour typically. If you can't make it right at showtime it's no problem at all, you can hop in when the next game starts or sit out for one and take a break etc.
Other games tend to be on the order of a few hours and are typically one-shots.
How?
Install an IRC client such as mIRC or one built-in with many multi-IM programs.
There is also a webclient for those who are horrible with this kind of stuff. :^: Just click the link and give it your name and you'll be in.
Why?
Because it's fun and real-time games have a dynamic table-talk nature that PbP just doesn't capture right.
