The last couple of days I've been playing VTMB. I finished it yesterday and today decided I wanted to play through it again, and even though I just played through it without any problems at all (Aside from its own usual glitches), now I can't run the game for five minutes without it crashing. And what bothers me, more than the fact that I can't play a game that I own, is that I don't understand why. I don't understand how. Nothing about my computer has changed. No software changes, no hardware changes, nothing. So why would it suddenly be unable to do something it had no trouble doing yesterday? I don't get it.

A local file has become corrupted. Can you reinstall it?

On a separate but related note, I feel like a Gangrel's protean claws should be more effective against a random human thug than a .38 revolver, not much less.

(I usually play with guns the whole way through, but this time I decided to try playing as a Gangrel for something different, and I ended up having to smack each of the beachhouse thugs around the room several times with level 2 protean whereas with a ranged skill of like 5 I'm usually able to put them down with like three shots from the .38.)

Possibly, but I'm pretty sure I deleted the setup application a few days ago to make room for the DA: Ultimate Edition that I got in the mail. Incidentally, that doesn't work, either. It runs okay, but the additional content doesn't work except for Awakening.

    so

i'm gonna try to just take advil and drink tea. apparently i didn't enroll in cobra and it takes like a month to get everything in place, and the nearby clinic doesn't do walk-ins.

the last two kidney stones i had, all they did was give painkillers anyways.

i wish there was some option between "can't pay" and "can't pay for the ridiculous ER charges." i could afford to see a doctor if one would see me. i just can't afford the $90,000 or whatever they stack on top of basic care charges at the ER.

We've realized there are two kinds of people on it, the kind who come in, get something, like it, and post as such, and the kind who are trollish cave people, infuriated at some perceived slight from years ago who decide to unleash a multi-paragraph diatribe about how awful their experience was, when had they called the bakery years ago (or, even now for that matter) we would've been happy to do something about it.

There are literally people who get off on being angry about things, is the only conclusion I can come to. Like, they have to be angry. They love being angry. They roll around in the anger and it strengthens them as they sit in front of their monitor, pounding away at the keys, knowing this time their rambling missive will change things, people will see it and know their anger on the internet.

It will be another few days before we know how she's doing in terms of cognitive impairments. And we don't really have a custom for this, it's not a frequent occurrence and often those it happens to die. If she wishes to she can serve out her term, but it's up to her.

Would it be crass to think if her Husband ran, he'd do well on the sympathy angle?

when a member of congress dies or is made unable to serve, often their spouse will be appointed to serve their term. when sonny bono died in a skiing accident, for instance, his wife took over his term and has held the seat since.

Bono never saw his assassin. You have to admire the dedication it takes to stand there and wait all of that time for a chance to off Sonny Bono.

Mafia II and Civilization 5 are locked up in this internet bullshit, too. I connected to the internet briefly at a USO in Kuwait, and even though Steam was specifically instructed not to try to update anything, it went ahead and tried to update Civilization 5 and Mafia II anyway. And of course the internet wasn't fast enough for it to actually update them, only for it to attempt to update them. So now Steam has decided I'm not allowed to play those games anymore.

I'm currently having at it with them to refund the purchase price of those games. I didn't even fucking buy Mafia II over Steam, I have the fucking disc. They don't have any right to tell me I can't fucking play it.
