So hey, anyone in here play the Wii version of Black Ops? I've been playing alot of Goldeneye on the Wii lately and while I'm not a big shooter fan I just love how immersive the Wii Remote makes controlling the game. I bought CoD4 for my 360 recently but only got past the ship level before shelving it. Considering picking up Reflex and CoD:Blops for the Wii. Any thoughts?

No. To all of your post.
But, a few of us own CoD4 on the 360 and would probably play some, if you catch us at the right time.
No need to apologize to me. I don't know why you're buying CoD games if you're not interested in MP, though. Better single-player FPS campaigns can be found elsewhere.

Because I've played Though Red Steel & Red Steel 2, I'm currently enjoying Goldeneye, and Call of Duty Reflex Edition & Black Ops seem to be the next best thing.

Well, I guess Blacks Ops' campaign is okay, maybe? I haven't actually beat it. Too much fun in Multi to bother.
I seem to recall someone saying something positive about it in the first blops thread.
Maybe.
Possibly.

My headset broke. Again. I've been using and always have used the single-speaker headsets for voice chat, though now I'm considering the Ear Force X41. I rather like playing games with my regular 5.1 setup and subwoofer, but there are no good replacement single-speaker headsets. They're either two dollars to 10 dollars and have low ratings, complaints about poor audio and either the mic or speaker breaking; 20 to 40 dollars for either poorly rated stereo headsets or the official wireless headset, the wireless one having complaints about comfort, build and audio quality; or 160 dollars for the 5.1 and 7.1 Tritton/Ear Force headsets. There are no good ones in between any of these tiers.
Is the Ear Force really worth it? Is the sound quality as good as advertised? I suppose it would be a prudent purchase for late-night gaming when I move back to the city. Right now I'm in a big house in the middle of nowhere, so loud noise isn't an issue yet, but I suppose it eventually will be.

Grab some X11s
Honestly stereo is better then simulated surround sound for so many games. Back in halo3 with my X1s (the old version of the X11s) I could hear amazing things like a warthog across the map, or someone going into the lift and other things that I could make out direction of it. With my simulated surround sound headset I have issues with directional sounds, I know theres shooting going on to my left but how far away and the direction to my left and infront isn't something I get with the simulated.
Honestly give the X11s a shot before you toss down on a true surround sound headset, and also just a FYI the sound design in BLOPs isn't that great so if your getting them specifically for blops then stick with the cheapo X11s and then move up if it floats your boat.

I wasn't going to get them exclusively for Black Ops. It's more for multiplayer and late-night gaming in general. Apparently you can easily hook up the X41s to your PC and PS3, too.

More maps in the rotation means fewer Nuketowns, I suppose (shit, it hasn't come up once in a week for me), but it also means fewer Arrays, Hanois and WMDs. Funk yeah.

As with all turtle beaches you can hook them up to your PC, heck even the Trittions you can do the same, and with Astros as well.
Truth be told if your looking for QUALITY sound your going to want to shell out around $200 for a mixamp and a pair of Sennheiser HD550s
Don't bother with the astro headset, its mediocre at best for the price. Spend it on a pair of HD550s and couple it with the mixamp and your set.
Turtle beaches are nice on the lower end, but once you get into the 100-150 range for those or Trittions you just need to buy once and cry once and shell out an extra fifty for a good audio setup.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention the ATH-AD700 I prefer the HD550s because of the totally nondorky looking design, but some people say the sound is better on the AD700s...I can't totally agree but I do get where they are coming from when they say that.
I hate you for the fact your using the astro headset, you seriously don't know what your missing. If you can source up some HD550s for under 80$ grab them or grab some HD555s for around a hundred and its a world of difference.

Go forth and purchase, use with mixamp, and have about 120% better sound.
I didn't pay for them.
So pay for an actual decent headset then. I hate kids who say the astro headset is sooooo fucking good when in reality they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to quality sound.
I'm kind of leaning toward the Tritton AX Pro now after reading about it. Apparently it has great 3D mapping, better than most of the competition, great connectivity, and it doesn't require batteries like the X41 does. A user image on Amazon, however, does show that the rubberized plastic started to peel off, though, and that leaves me a little concerned. Does anyone here have one of those and can offer an opinion on them?
Edit: I do like the price of those Sennheiser's, iRevert, and what you're saying about them. What is mixamp, though, and how much does that cost?

I'm not saying they're the end-all be-all of headsets. They kick the shit out of what I had, though. I have read reviews on the HD5xx series and some other mid-high range headsets, but until I become employed this year it won't be a reality.
Edit: I do like the price of those Sennheiser's, iRevert, and what you're saying about them. What is mixamp, though, and how much does that cost?
The MixAmp is a device sold with the Astro A40 that makes surround sound much better and allows finer volume control. It's nifty but you pay a premium.

Trittons are made by (get ready for it) Mad Catz.
Thats not saying they aren't great, but I will say the following having owned a pair.
1) The mic had an issue of blinding static being played to everyone but me. I couldn't hear it, others could...they might have fixed that with newer ones but keep that in mind.
2) They don't exactly "flex" so you don't take them off like normal headphones (the top part) the ear cups do swivel. However there is this little piece of plastic holding the earcup assembly to the headphones band that is held on by this little piece of crap plastic that you can't really see. It looks like the earcup assembly attaches solidly to the band but in reality its just a small chunk of plastic under the cup assembly that holds it in. Twist the headset the wrong way and crack, pull the headset off to hard (as the band doesn't flex) and crack, drop the headset the wrong way and craaaack.
Good headset none the less, but if your going for a headset thats going to last and be used for both home entertainment, computer, and PS3 use (as well as perhaps ipod listening or other listening uses) buy once and cry once.
As said the mixamp is part of the Astro system, pricey at $120 for just that. Heck you could get the turtle beach version for half of that cost but it isn't quite the same quality (Ear Force DSS) [street price of the DSS is 60-80] however in my books its just worth either hunting down a used mixamp (can be found for sub $100 usually 75-90) and then grabbing a headset or going and getting a mixamp new and pairing it with your favorite SS headset.
Keep in mind though with a HD550/555 or other headset paired with a mixamp you would have no mic. You would need to get a cheapo mic and ducttape it to the side of the headset or not talk at all. Some would say thats a disadvantage but I clip mine to the headphones and it works like a charm.
If they don't flex than VACORSISISIS'SES'S MONSTER HEAD will undoubetly break them.....again.

I still don't know which to buy, or if I should buy one right now at all. I want a new headset, since mine broke, but I could just buy the same single-ear, 9.99 USD one again. I do have some extra money right now, though, so I could splurge for a quality headset. I will eventually need one, too.

I use a pair of x11s because I got a pair on the cheap and they sound nicer than my tv/the mic is better than the standard xbox one (not that that is saying much but still)
Also, the B. Hussein loadout wouldn't fit. You could just name it the B. Hussein, I guess.
