Have Blizzard ever released the win/loss stats for each race on that map? They must have that type of info, and I'd be really interested in knowing if it shows anything in the upper leagues.
Good riddance, you silly, silly map. May your soul suffer in hell for 2 to 3 eternities.
i played a 3v3 and got teamed up with a guy in the master league (isaac). he one based zerg, double hatch in main, and all he did was make mass speedlings (made some banes at the end, but never used them). he did crazy speedling runbys into mineral lines, killing tons of workers.
we won the game obviously (he was amazing dude) and he got top score.
probably only really works in team games, but still, it was totally instructional.
one base? when did he cut drones? did he macro hatch? got a replay?
i do and id be more than happy to share it, but i have no idea how.
please keep in mind also that it's a 3v3 though, so it's like the fucking circus.

Idra just lost while smurfing on JP's streaming show where they are doing KoTH. It was supposed to be publicity for a thing tomorrow. They expected Idra to win all night then they'd let everyone in on the joke.
JP is like I'll call him on skype so everyone believes that was him. Idra says no.
He was clearly goofing around. Broodlord zergling build, but that's funny.
Broodlord/Corrupters Cracklings works, but by that point you've already won....
After playing a few games, I'm feeling alot more comfortable with the way things work, and I'm getting over the fear of 'Oh I'm sure my opponent has a HUGE force, much bigger than mine!', because after watching replays, I notice that they're normally at the same place, sometimes I'm even ahead.
My biggest weakness right now, though, is my opening: The first 4 minutes of the game is a clusterfuck
I can't get my timing on when I should go for Rax, or Orbital Command, or when to start teching my buildings, etc. Once I get a base up and running, I'm super comfortable, don't get supply blocked, and can even expand to a new base, it's just that first four minutes KILLS me.
Seriously, find a Terran's amazing play. Copy it. Supply numbers are the most important things to hit in the very beginning, then its the mineral numbers, then the gas timings.
If you have 14 scvs, one should be in position to build a rax at 150 exactly.

Haven't had rage thrown at me for a long time actually, it's quite refreshing. Love the ladder on the weekends with all the 14 year olds.
And seriously, when did banelings against pure marine become n00b and how did he expect that match to turn out?
Whenever a zerg tells me forcefield is imba then leaves, that is great, only happens a few times but still when it does
Honestly. I don't feel like anything is imba anymore, especially at my level. They really cleaned up those early balance issues with patches. I'd still like for Zerg to have a decent scout option against the other races obligatory wall offs. But I guess the standard FE is just that, and sacking an overlord doesn't really cost that much.
Protoss being sort of stuck in the robo tech pathway is probably the main issue right now. But since people are starting to experiment with stargates I think that issue will be worked out sooner or later.
I can still be annoyed that I have to semi-blindly build a fuckton of tech structures as Zerg to be able to counter different possibilities before it's too late. But that is more of a design choice and ties back to the scouting thing.
All in all, don't cry imba unless you play 10 h a day and compete in GSL. Those bastards know how to find every cheesy advantage there is.
Jungle Basin was definitely my least favorite map.
Unbreakable mech play and unstoppable blink stalker cheese, every time.
Yeah or how about the fact that you can warp in units over that little silly canyon with a pylon outside the base meaning that 4gate owns so, so hard. Main reason I hate that map and why delta quadrant is nr 2 on my blacklist. I don't like steppes of war either but for different reasons.

Stargate play is super fun but I think they should make archons detectors. Would solve a lot of problems.

here's the 1 base zerg i was talking about. again, this dude is in master league and he was crazy badass. top score in the game.
he does get the gold expansion after 13 minutes, but the game is only 15 minutes long and is pretty much over by the 14 minute mark.
if i remember correctly, every player is diamond, except for him (who is master)

i dont think there is any significant imbalance, but there are still a few underused units and abilities / upgrades. tweaks could still be made.
Blizzard said it's fine with having some units/abilities not being used in competitive play. So I doubt we'll ever see a patch that attempts to make mothership more viable for example.
Bog, do you even watch competitive SC? I just don't even know how to reply.
You're wrong.
Motherships are not used often in competitive play, broodlords are regularly used in competitive play (TvZ) and are part of the strongest late game tech switch in the entire game (broodlords into ultras).

Only because the zerg decided the way to win after killing all of qxc's scvs is to go one-base muta with a late expand. Unfortunately the zerg managed to win anyways because medivacs healed scvs instead of marines.

Heh.. Well if you know me, you know I have a very low opinion of broodlords. Personally I've never seen a game where I thought "Oh shit. Broodlords were so clutch there. That's what got him that game." I usually see them as an "insult to injury" unit where the zerg already has it in the bag. That's how I feel, anyway.
As for motherships, that kiwi mothership recall game alone is enough to raise some eyebrows. It's a get out of jail free card for any attack on the map. Or an offensive mass transport/support unit. HuK regularly goes mothership (but I haven't seen any of his games in months). Kiwi. Um... I don't know too many toss players.

motherships are used in competitive play, they're just situational.
likewise battlecruisers. they are used in TvT from time to time but only in longer games obviously, and usually only by the person who already has air superiority. they aren't common but they have a use.
carriers legitimately aren't actually used as far as I've seen.
brood lords are used by far the most of all these units but again it requires a long game.

Well, your buddies would probably micro the SCVs back real quick. I don't remember this being an actual issue.

Normally I don't bother, but relishing in them tasty nerd QQ's is a guilty pleasure of mine at times.
