So my year old Toshiba DVD player, this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882116147 is no longer outputting sound. The video still works fine though. Any ideas on what may have happened to it and possible solutions short of buying a Blu-Ray player?

So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.

My best guess is maybe you moved the white and red cables and one came loose?

Does other audio sound ok on your TV?

    It uses an HDMI cable.

I tried switching ports and it still didn't work. I guess I will try switching the cable when I get home, I just didn't feel like messing with that last night.

Was the hdmi cable one of the 99 cent ones? I ask because I had the same problem with my ps3 way back when and it turned out the copper was too thin and was breaking inside of the insulation on the 99 cent cables. The $3-4 cables from monoprice were plenty good though.

Nah, it's one I ordered from NewEgg along with the DVD player. So it's gold plated ends, etc etc etc. Though at this point, I would be perfectly happy if it was the cable.
