Ryze is fun. we all lost all three games we played last night but I feel like I played better with that character and build. Also watching a whole pack of minions explode in one attack is fun
Also god damn :30s into the game murderbushes with pantheon and master yi waiting there. i wonder how they got over so much faster than we did
Hey guys, does anyone have any tips for playing Irelia? I bought her the day she came out, was confused as to how to build her, and with all the screams of her being "UP" I figured I'd wait until there was more of a consensus as to how to build her and such. I'm not sure if she's considered any "good" these days, but I spent 6300 IP on her and I don't wanna let that go to waste. Any tips?
iralia is my favorite melee character. however it is difficult to give advice on her. I would suggest a 4/26/1 build with exhaust and ghost. i rune her with crit reds, attack speed yellows and mana regen blues, add HP quints, and there you are. I would suggest a doran's shield for her, if laning, and a different build entirely for jungling. additionally, If you lane, her first skill should always be her slow/stun. If at equil or lesser health it stuns, which can allow for some beautiful turn arounds. play style should be cautious but always looking for the chance to harass, her q allows a quick catch up, and her stun/slow combined with true damage w allow for some very powerful chasing and killing. Her ult is meant to be used often, and I try to get at least a brutalizer with her when practicable.
Okay, sounds good to me... Do you have any specific suggestions for any items to get her, like core items such as sheen maybe? I see a lot of people go for Trinity Force, but I'm not completely sure. Also, what should my skilling order be?
his two moves that activate it have 10 second cooldowns

With Renek's cooldowns, I was thinking more of using CDR blues and maybe CDR socks. But Merc Treads are near-mandatory in almost every game nowadays, so it'll be situational.
Also, who wants to play Nasus with my Renekton? We can both ult a lane at 6 to magic damage the crap out of people. It shall be GLORIOUS!

so it looks like those 'fake' patch notes were pretty much on target.
the nerfs to panth and rammus won't change their perma-ban status. guess i should pick up xin next. or maybe just taric.
Yeah they were right on, I don't see the game changing at all from this patch except that there is a new champion who people will play terribly with in ranked.
Xin nerf is a little unfortunate since he wasn't already played too much (more than others, but still rare) but I don't think it was that big of a nerf anyways.
I was playing Blitz and my friend was Akali. We went bottom lane
We fought against Janna and a Sion
Pull, death, pull, death. After around 5 kills total of them, their TF and Blitz came down and Janna and Sion left.
Pull, death, pull, death, pull, death.
SURRENDER
It was so hilarious. Akali and I both never died.
Their Janna had Clairvoyance too, and it still didnt work against our bush ganks. She constantly used that against us and even bought a ward. PULL, DEATH
It was hilariously good fun. We beat their whole team in bottom lane except the Cait who never came to visit us
well, we did decent once we all got banshee's and a couple items, but they'd focus me down as pants, and then pick everyone off, since most of our damage was me and garen. to WW was terrible, but i can't say more than that for him. i wish they wouldn't let you buy PD before a BF sword on trynd though.
edit: they were trynd, sion, malph (dc'd till the end), kass, eve. they tynd and sion weren't good either, but they were agressive in lane and forced me and trynd to play passive during laning. they kass was good and they were totally carried by eve.
Oddly I've been having some pretty decent games low lvl in solo queue normal. The games I lose are when there are one or two rampant feeders and the other team just gets outta control.
Janna and Sion should be able to beat blitz and akali though, with the stun, knockup, slow, shield explosion combo I am surprised.
Akali has her invisible slow stuff too, so it was hard for the to escape. Sion and Janna was wasting mana pushing lanes too, so eventually they got low while Akali doesnt use mana and I used my grab sparingly to conserve mana. Once level 6 came about, we just flat out murdered them.
Janna tried to escape with her R, but Janna was near a wall with Akali between the wall and Janna....Akali didnt move :P
We went 3-queue (jungle rammus, blitz, and akali), so I am guessing the other team was semi-premade too.
But oh well, maybe we just had a fluke and the other team was bad :P
On a side note, I had a bad solo queue ranked game.
We had amumu as a tank. I told them I will be Zilean, so bring DPS for us. Swain, Shaco, and some other non-dps was chosen.
No one was pushing lanes, so I had to; as ZILEAN. I got one tower, that was it. I dont know why people dont pick DPS when I say "BRING DPS SO I CAN SUPPORT"
Our Swain fed the other team too....i quickly took him off my friends list after. (I just added him because of a previous game)

This has been pretty much every game for me in the last couple days.
My final game before bed last night, I was playing as Sivir, and mid-laned against Cho'gath. We had a Cho on our team as well who went top, and neither team had a jungler (almost never see junglers, likely due to everyone being low level).
I spent the first 10 minutes of the game utterly denying Cho... he could barely hit me, had to step off after I'd dodge his ranged because my Richochets would plink at him between Boomerang shots, and all that.
By the 20-minute mark, their Cho was a gigantic monster who rampaged over everything because he'd decided to run off and feed on all the rest of the idiots on my team, while our Cho was still this tiny little insect who couldn't do anything but die.
I still felt good about the game because I was just about the only member of my team the enemies ran away from, and I got a fair number of kills despite having no support. But basically, every game I'm in has feeders, and why the hell do they always have to be on my team?

Ugh, I was just getting back into my Sivir groove and was really enjoying that ricochet harassment. Its tough to hit with BB more than once with out some really solid movement prediction. Funny enough, since I played her in low levels and then shelved her for a bit. I never actually realized that spell shield eats anything when the animation hits instead of at casting. I figured you had to preemptively cast it for it to absorb. After watching Tree eat everything through reaction time alone, my laning against caster harassers has vastly improved.
I still think her short range makes positioning in team fights a bitch tho. I know some folks say just target the tanks and let the ricochets do the rest, but it just feels wrong.

Sounds solid to me. Shouldn't you just chew up tanks with your armor pen items and marks? The other thing you can do is port and take down a tower to try to cause a division in the enemy team.
I have the most trouble with Sivir's pathetic range, yeah... most melee have ways to get in quick when they need to, and Sivir needing to get so close to auto-attack basically is just an invite for 'HAI GUYS COME RUSH/CHARGE/POUNCE/STOMP ME PLZKTHX'. It's less terrible in team fights where people are distracted, but solo I like to have enemy minions to bounce cross-blades off, which is going to be somewhat less of an option with the nerf.
The spell shield is something I'm still trying to learn to use. I put it to wonderful use last night when that dick Swain tried to use his ground-based paralyze on me... since I could see it there before the effect took hold, I shielded and boy was he surprised about a second later.
Heh I haven't run into too many feeders, but when one or two guys end up getting killed 15 times more than everyone else it's just ...welp.
Tiny Cho is a pretty worthless player.
I really hate playing with spanish speaking only players, from what I've seen they really have the worst attitude, just bad and trollish.
Let's see, my last two games last night in one I was WW and started by jungling a little, which I told my team I was gonna do.
I do pretty well get to level 3 pretty quick and transition that into 3 ganks by around 10 minutes, which is pretty good for me. Everyone on my team is more or less 0/0/0 while I'm 3/1/0 and all the while I'm getting "wtf where stupid ww" and "stupid noob doggy". Until I pointed out that I'm rocking face and they should fucking ping the map if they want some support. To which they stfu finally.
Then I tried out Teemo for my last game, he was ok though I didn't know how to build him. I got a bunch of "meepo top/mid/blah blah" follow by "omfg" "so retarded" when no matter where I went, so I just decided to ignore chat the rest of the game and farm up mushroom minefields. I blowed them all up good.

This is true for most ranged carries, if you can not safely position yourself to focus down DPS then go for a tank. You don't do any damage if you are dead.
Oh and if I go 1-5-11 as Udyr is that really losing the game? I got some guy in ranked twice in a row, first game I got that score so he AFKed and blamed me, next game same guy and he won't stop whining at me the whole game for being bad. I was the jungler, successfully killed 1 guy and assisted in two or three ganks. After that they would focus me in every teamfight, I would die but isn't that good for the tank to die first? I mean I was initiating, they blew all their cooldowns on me, seems like I did my job.
Also how do you build jungle tank Udyr? I get Heart of Gold, Merc treads, Sunfire, Banshee then any situational items. That is how I build all tanks really. I also got criticism for my Cho build. I start Dorans, Catalyst, Wamogs, Banshee, then GA. Seems like the perfect build to me.

That is just the way the game works, if you are the jungler and they are doing terrible in a lane it is always the junglers fault for not ganking enough. Literally I was playing WW, just finished red and went and sucessfully ganked mid and was getting bitched at for not helping bottom because our Shen died three times down there. How the fuck? That isn't even 6 minutes into the game.

I want to use him so badly
I hope he isn't 6300 IP because I don't wanna spend realdollars (but I might for the outback skin bundle)

i would totally roll nasuS with you.
Renekton all the way
Toggle =/= Activate
for some reason the distinction eluded me

well, some people are kinda bad at this game. like any trynd who builds 2 phantom dancers and boots 3. or a kennen who goes 0/5 in lane against.
those guys were on my team last night, who lost to a team of 4 that got carried by eve.
Assuming it was a ranked solo queue game, see above.
I'm sad that my friend, who bought the game with me last Tuesday, has yet to fucking actually log in. I was looking forward to team play.
