According to Kotaku unearthed is a titanium mine and not a crashed covenant ship.
Kotaku is right for once. Here's what the Bungie.net article says:
Unearthed: Unearthed takes the battle for Reach to a large Titanium mine and refinery located in the Viery civilian sector of the planet. This particular mine was built to take advantage of the exposed titanium inside a massive meteor crater. The titanium produced here is used in much of the UNSC hardware, from the chassis of the Warthog to the meters-thick armor plating of capital ships like the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. While this facility was quickly abandoned when the Covenant arrived on Reach, it still has significant tactical (and economic) value and it won’t be long before both humans and Covenant return to battle for control. Unearthed allows up to 4 players to launch a counterassault against the Covenant in Firefight and Firefight modes such as Generator Defense.

I think that map in the video above could use a bit of aesthetics. Like, nothing that changes the layout or anything, just some simple wall decor and such so it's not just plain forerunner wall after forerunner wall. That center area just seems very bland.
Holy shit I am terrible at all things multiplayer.
Multiplayer is something you really have to work hard at to be even decent. As DogEight said. Don't sweat it. Besides, we are NOT the ultra hardcore gamers. We play to have fun.
Just played my first Reach in a few months and I have to say, I am loving the new playlists. Really enjoying the community maps and bro slayer. Still a huge problem with quitters though (in my experience at least )

So I haven't seen these myself, but HBO is saying these are in the New Map pack video:
So, new armory for DLC? Or funky angle of existing helmet?
Seeing as how the armor would have to be retroactively added to every multiplayer, firefight, and campaign map, I'm just gonna say that's either a helmet that is glitched (does happen sometimes, helmets will get combined) or it's one Bungie has to throw a switch for us to be able to choose/get.
I think you can get that one currently doing the off-host hologram trick in Forge.

Well, can anybody actually find them in the map pack video? At work, I don't have the time to examine it.

They need to be included in the map?
New armors and shit can't be patched in with a title update? That seems...less than ideal.

It makes sense though. If you have the map data, then you have the armor data. Title updates though, you will need to be online to get and not everyone's online.
Actually, I understand it (or at least think I do) but I can't really explain why putting new armor data in a map-pack is a better solution than just a title update.

I can see that from a financial perspective: wanting people to pay for shinies. But if it can't even be patched in so that other players can just SEE it and not buy it then that's pretty stupid.
Not everyone's online but you damn sure have to be to download a map pack and you can't exactly play on Live without patching.
I must not be understanding something correctly.
EDIT: I just watched a 720p stream of the map trailer and saw no new armors.

No, I'm in the same boat as you.
What does it matter if people who aren't playing online can't get the new armor? What does that matter?
Also, if people don't have the map pack, what's the harm in just showing the default helmet? It's not like that didn't happen in halo 3 when you had a laggy game, everyone's helmet just reverted to the default anyway.
I just really really doubt Bungie would put a new helmet in the game and then be like "no if you don't own the maps then you can't even see this helmet people are using"
I go online with Reach, patch it, and I buy a new set of custom armour. I pay the Cr and deck out my Spartan in it. I save it to my memory stick. I then go to a friend's house who does not have the Internet, and bring my disc. I put it in and it won't load my profile because it's from a newer version of Reach.
That's the incompatibility. It's super rare, but it's more than a little frustrating for anyone who has no idea how these things work.

The game save. I know Halo does it weirdly, but it saves some data on your profile itself, some on Bungie's server, and some on your device that you select on boot. If there's no internet connection it'll load from your device. It covers single-player and co-op progress, and Cr totals and Armoury progress.

I don't mind paying 10 dollars for 2 multiplayer maps and one for firefight, because someone said he'll buy it for me. Riiiiiiiiiight?
oh lord...who is Beebs sugar daddy? No wait I don't want to know,It probably involves Pokemon, naked pictures of B.Arthur and a football helmet filled with cottage cheese.
I see the problem, but maybe Bungie already anticipated this. Maybe it's already set up so that new custom armor data is stored in the part of the profile you'd take with you on the memory stick...

except that there has never been an instance of armor being introduced into the system like this. We have no grounds or previous findings on which to base anything about how it's going to save/load the armor pack.
Well, yeah. It depends on whether or not Bungie planned for it and set it so that unrecognised armour versions display as default, or something, but the precedent here is how previous versions of Halo 3 handled maps from later versions. It saw there was something there, but it refused to load it. How that works when it has to load something is an unknown.

There still seems to be a time limit. I was playing and it said "15 minutes remaining."
Firefight ODST didn't have any time limit.
Kotaku is right for once. Here's what the Bungie.net article says:
Kotaku is about as reliable as beeb resisting playing pokemon. (which is to say, very unreliable)
Seriously, I stopped reading kotaku years ago and I'm happier for it.
Says so on the official halo site too.
I still stand by my point of kotaku being full of shit occasionally.
fixed that for ya.
Go to armoury, choose to buy one of the three best helmets in the game

I love the weekly challenge for this week. Nice and easy. I am about 30 waves away from finishing it.
Also, I'm sitting on 150K cR and I'm not sure what I should buy. I'm thinking of saving up for that kinda ugly gungnir helmet.

because seriously
the amount of people who are hauling saves and such to a location that has never had Reach connected to the internet is a minority
