This evening, Kotaku Australia published a blog entry to their website claiming that Bungie recently terminated as many as thirty contract employees without notice or justification, effectively eliminating all non full time staff at the request of our publisher, Activision-Blizzard.
The claim is false.
Bungie has never been asked to lay off any employees or contract employees by our publisher, Activision-Blizzard, for any reason. The talented professionals who grace our offices day in and day out are the lifeblood of Bungie – our most cherished commodity – and the unsubstantiated rumors posted today are in direct opposition to the culture and values that we believe make Bungie an exceptional place to work, and to call home.
Finished the weekly challenge (200 waves) this morning. Boy was it sweet seeing 15,000(!!!!) extra points in my after action report when I completed that game.
Can you play Firefight Single-Player or is it strictly a multiplayer affair?
Score Attack is what you're after, and has modes ranging in difficulty from the very easy (FRGAttack, 2x Score Attack) to the very hard (Mythic Attack). Pick your poison and go hog wild.
Awright, I'm all fired up. Fyre, I hope to have two more maps ready for testing by the time you hold sessions again (plus a larger scale test of Descent, since I'm 95% sure I fixed the teleporter issue but haven't had a chance to test with more than two people).

Sweet. I'll probably pick something in the middle for difficulty.
There aren't actual difficulties. They are all heroic. But Jesuits meant that things like rocketattack and frgattack are easier then vanilla scoreattack or the hardest mythic attack.

Holdout has Banshees, Beachhead has Wraiths and Ghosts, Overlook has Wraiths, Glacier has Wraiths and Ghosts, Outpost has Ghosts. Corvette sometimes has Wraiths, too, but I'm not sure if that's in Matchmaking.
EDIT: Also, enemies on mounted turrets count as vehicles.

The main problem is that most of those vehicles are dropped off of Phantoms. Most Firefight modes, excluding Limited, only have Phantoms come in during the fifth wave, and in some cases will never drop vehicles, others only sparingly. I'd like to see Firefight patched such that some light vehicle spawns could be included with smaller dudes when Phantoms are disabled (like, in a group of three grunts and an elite, replace the elite with a ghost, or maybe just spawn two ghosts in place of the whole group).

So I just noticed that sometimes there's a 'x1' or 'x2' etc. on the display of the grenade launcher. Based on some brief Firefight testing, it looks like it's the amount of enemies in the blast radius of the grenade. Did anyone know about this?

Some of us knew.
You can walk over the grenade and push it into a good spot... then hide somewhere one the map. You don't even need line of sight, you just blow it up when you see someone is close.
Clicked the Kotaku link curious to see just how bad it was (pretty damn bad), only realizing too late that I had personally given them another hit. Fuck.

I spent most of today on a novel Infection map, and I'm pretty pumped to get it tested, but due to how it's set up it can't really be played without six bodies at minimum. Eight's probably the sweet spot, but it does support up to 16 just in case.
Phew, got one of the maps I talked about to Release Candidate stage. Not sure I have it in me to do the same for a whole new map tomorrow, but I'll give it a go.
Perform an Assassination in a multiplayer Matchmaking game.
Earn 4 Double Kills in the same match in multiplayer Matchmaking.
Kill 8 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game.
I knocked out all 4 in about 30 minutes in Rumble Pit. Super easy 6100cR today.

Ugh. I suck again. I got a PS3 for Christmas so I've been playing that for the past couple months and now when I play Halo I feel like I'm holding a brick.

Wow I'm not gonna get any of those. Heh.
It's really not that bad. Just throw grenades everywhere to get your double kills. Shotgun everyone in the face for your CQC. You can usually find someone AFK to assassinate. And at worst, you'll have to play a few games to get your 50 kills. It's not bad.
Just to be fair, the 200 waves weekly challenge is kind of a pain. 200 waves is 14 games, which is 3 1/2 hours if you play straight through. That can get pretty boring and repetitive.

I still stand by my words.
But I prefer the gameplay of classic Firefight!
Seriously, I have become increasingly aware of breathing through my nose now!

Of course, people think they're covering up because a fucking Kotaku random rumor posting is automatically true.

Also, Kotaku's escape clause to all of this is going to be "well, at least they didn't deny Destiny was the name of the project!"

You got sick of it after 3 games? Wow
Were you playing limited or arcade, because I don't see how anyone can get sick of arcade
