I just moved into an all wifi house. I refuse to shell out the cash for the 360 wireless thing as I tend to stick to PC for my online gaming needs. Am I going to get boned on all the bonuses I got for preordering? Please tell me its on the disc.
As an aside, the gameplay in DA2 looks a shit-ton better than that in DA1.
That does actually look pretty good. My concerns about the animation at least seem unfounded. Also, the UI seems a lot smaller than it does in the combat video, so maybe I'll like it more once it's properly scaled to a higher resolution.

Sweet, finally one of my scenes made it into a video! I spent a good four hours getting that cut to work right - it looks better in higher resolution than it does there.

I closed it after the first five seconds because it looked like the camera was panning to something really cool.
Can't be too careful about spoilers, since I can't not now purchase this game.

Vsove I hear it bandied about regularly that a lead designer from Dragon Age Origins departed at some point at or near the onset of Dragon Age 2. I know you probably can't comment much on this, and I'm not judging on whether this is a TOTAL SIGN THAT BIOWARE IS $ELLING OUT but I am curious if anything of the sort did happen.

Well, it's bandied about because of this. It's not anywhere near as doom and gloom as it's normally depicted as. And, uh, not the same thing as it's normally depicted as.

Really, Bioware...Really!?
How can they possibly think that including dark fantasy fellatio is anything but an appeal to the tittering masses?
Maybe I'm totally in the wrong here, and I accept that I'm writing this at 2.23am and am not quite on the level, but Christ, throwing a BJ into DA2 just seems like a step too far.
Shit like this lowers the tone.

Max Payne had a blowjob in it and the tone of that game was just fine.
Uh...it sounds at worst exactly as explicit as the sex scene in DAO (in which, at least with Zevran, there was totally a BJ going on). If anything, it actually sounds a bit more tame.

You know what I liked? They mentioned a fade to black rather than outrit depiction of sex acts. Tat beats awkward CG sex any day.

There is a BJ in dragon age. I think it is when you are sneaking in Arl Howe's estate, but I am not sure. It is just a guard with a maid kneeling in front of him and they set off the alarm if you come in.
I think the best thing for the tone of the game would be to be less shy about explicit visuals but be more measured in the length of the scenes. Bioware functions under the auspices of mature storytelling, at least as much so as a studio in this industry can be, so shying away from glimpses of tit seems a bit contrived.
Either have a decent introduction to the scene and fade to black, or have something more purely suggestive like both characters going into a tent or through a door. Either would work. But the DAO approach really didn't work.
I thought the music track while two people awkwardly pose next to a camp fire in their underwear was endearing.
It's how Canadians express physical affection.
Just pass a park on any given evening and you'll see an entire orchestra camped out on a set of portable bleachers while people scurry around in their skivvies trying to build camp fires on the snow.
'Course usually only a couple fires actually get lit so everyone has to line up and take turns getting their pictures taken before they can run off and grab their ice skates and hockey sticks.
Those love scenes were probably the most awkward things I've seen.
That's why you install the Better Sex Cutscenes mod and some nude mods. 8-)
I hate that I have to admit that I downloaded the mod in order to post this.
I thought that the "mild" version would remove clothes and leave the series of events unaltered. In vanilla, women are either wearing a bra or the shot is awkwardly close so as to avoid nipple. It's actually immersion breaking...either figure out less obtuse ways to compose a shot and still keep the goods hidden, or handle things with explicitness dignity.
Anyway, the "mild" version shouldn't be called mild. It was way more than I wanted to see in a video game. It's even more awkward, somehow. And thanks to that or some other mod, any time I removed armour from a male character, I was reminded that each of them not only didn't wear loin cloth, but also suffered from a chronic priapism.
So there's a line between being a bit more explicit and being distracting. I really don't think spending minutes watching sex is appropriate for the game, but the tameness and one-dimensionality of DAO's sex scenes isn't either. It can be awkward for a work to be explicit about violence while being reserved about sex.
The thing I will never forgive Dragon Age for is making me watch Allistar and Morigan's incredibly awkward sex scene.
Aren't Morrigan and Alistair half siblings anyways?
What? No. Where would you even get that from?
I thought, in the novels, that the king fathered Morrigan with Flemmeth. I may be misremembering.
I thought that fan speculation had anders being the king's other bastard son
That would fit with his sudden stardom.
I remember it being speculated based on things in the novel, but I can't see the Morrigan/Alistair connection being fully realized since them banging was a potential outcome in DAO. I don't think BioWare wants to go there.

Its not too spoilery to be honest, a lot of the achievements are very general though one or two hint at something cool.

Oh, who the fuck and I kidding. I'll be romancing every character in the game and proceed to bitch and moan all over the internets.
On another note, combat does seem to be quite better looking than the demo build that was available in a conference a few months ago.

It did, but Mr. Gaider said that Anders wasn't related to Alistair.
The gameplay looks good, I'm still wondering about the story though.
