I thought some of the fights were challenging, but it might just me being bad at games. I remember having to reload a few times for the fight where you are betrayed escaping the castle or whatever. It's been over a year, so I don't remember a lot of details. I think you are fighting Loghain's female lieutenant and a bazillion archers or whatever.
Even though it's possible to win that fight, you're expected to lose it, which gives you a whole extra sequence where you're captured.
I never even knew it was possible to lose that fight till I read it hear after my second play through. Every time I lost a person against her I quick loaded and tried again. Lost count of how many times I quick loaded and changed tactics around.
Huh. Holy shit. I always felt kinda bad for waxing that lady. She seemed honorable and loyal; she just had a boss that was a hero but then went off the deep end.
That particular scene is once again best if you're playing as a female.
Seduce the guard into opening your cell, invite him to come in for a good time, get him to remove his clothing, kill him.
That should be rule #1 of being a prison guard - NEVER EVER attempt to have sex or anything closely resembling sex with the inmates. And blowjobs count.

You can do that as a dude, too.
But...
Having Zevran and Oghren break you out is clearly the best option.

I figure it's worth it.
Worst that can happen is you get murdered and a prisoner escapes.

Sten and the Dog have some nearly-as-hilarious breakout dialog as well.

Dog just has great dialogue. I think the option to select him is even "Have dog.....bluff?"

Good to know you can lose that one though!
Ser Cauthrien comes right after Loghain for my "most hated npc in the game" rankings. She's honorable and loyal, but stupid as hell. She buys into the whole wardens-killing-the-king nonsense even though she was there at Ostagar and even asks Loghain for clarification when he tells everyone to retreat. It's mindless follower bullshit and I was happy to chop her head off.
Actually that's not true, once I meet Anora she takes Cauthrien's place. And Isolde as well now that I think on it. The idea of those ladies is fine but once you start talking to them... uuuugh.
Loghain will always be my number 1 though

The armor looks kinda nice, but I wasn't planning on getting Dead Space 2 for a while.
Jesus fucking shitbog. Apparently I suck at this, because I have tried to get past this damn mission where you have to fight the shadowy transparent copies of yourself in the Gauntlet like 10 times now.
I pretty much ran straight off down this questline, so I'm still relatively weak. Am I supposed to be of higher level when I get here?
Given how long I've been playing this game, it's embarrassing realizing how I had been profoundly misusing Shale. Was having trouble in a couple of fights, eventually decided to respec her and see how well her defensive skill set worked (I had been using her almost entirely in an offensive capacity). Turns out she works, uh, pretty well.
Now I'm considering going back to Alistair since using Shale properly feels like cheating.

What party are you using? You could always just come back with more mages with AOE or immobilization spells.

Yeah, other than redeploying a new team, I'd treat them like any other mob. Take out the caster(s) first, and then move onto priorities. That's how I won. Put my rogue and Alistair up against the caster and then just used immobilize and crippling shots with Leilana until the caster died and my main could get to the others.
Is it time restricted? I want to play DS2 but I haven't even started DS1 yet and I'm not ready to preorder solely for a bonus.

See I'd got for the reverse.
Just run straight back. The caster should remain where they are (out of sight), and now it's three on four, giving you the edge.
A lot of the little things I find myself not wanting to play without (helmet toggle, respec/companions not autoleveling when they join, rogues with unlock points automatically opening chests without having to switch to them first) are from mods. Hopefully DA2 incorporates some more of them.

Ooo... what's the mod that allows rogues to automatically unlock chests?
The only mods I'm currently running with are those that resize Shale and upgrade the model's skin to compensate. It looks way better when the "huge" golem is actually... huge.

This should help. Also, if you pull back right away, one or two of the party members will go down the opposite hallway, allowing you to isolate them and take them down quickly. It will really help that the AI doesn't seem to use your party very effectively.

Heavy risk,
$20 for the Digital Download PC Version and $25 for physical copies of the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
I guess it's not Dr. Pepper weird though
I'm not even gonna comment on it. Just what.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.

or there's that helmet toggle
I'm looking at you, Mass Effect
There's helmet toggle in Dragon Age 2? Thank goodness.
I wasn't planning on buying Dead Space 2 though.
Time to try and snatch a code from someone else
it's working
but it's not confirmed

Wait so...how do you get it? Is it only if you order from the EA store? What if you already have it preordered at gamestop or something?
Basically you input a code onto the game and when DA2 is released you get the armor for download.
3DS: 1607-3034-6970
Every new copy of DS2 should include the code, it's not exclusive to pre-orders, and you'll have until March 21, 2012 to redeem it.
Edit: Damn you, Blackjack.
