Flemeth was cool on her own, she doesn't need to be a second rate Maleficent to be cool.
Varric is telling the story second hand. And he heard Hawke met Flemeth. She's the witch of the wilds! What do you mean she's a frumpy looking old woman in a plain dress? That's ridiculous.
Even if that wasn't the case, I don't think I'll ever understand "normal looking old woman > badass kind of hot looking old woman with hair horns."
Maybe she just cleans up real nice when she takes a stroll into town. Oh sure, there's no need to be vain when it's just you in your downtrodden shack in the middle of the woods. But when you head into civilization? Perhaps Flemeth likes to draw some attention to herself, yes? She apparently beds and eats men, after all. Can't attract the moth to the flame looking shaggy and miserable!
Oh God, does this mean she's going to try and eat Hawke?

I certainly can't imagine any reason why a shapeshifter who can assume multiple forms would want to create different impressions in different groups of people.

Did you guys know that Hawke looks like a JRPG character?
Perhaps Flemeth likes to draw some attention to herself, yes? She apparently beds and eats men, after all. Can't attract the moth to the flame looking shaggy and miserable!
On the other hand, Flemeth also resents that she was beautiful, because it pretty much dictated the course of her entire life and not always for the better.
So I don't think she'd make herself attractive just for attention or a quick snack. Maybe as part of her God Baby Plan B, but otherwise...

The whole post, taken together and not broken down, was mostly a joke. It wasn't exactly a serious comment on her new appearance. Jeez, man!

I was going to pre-purchase this sucker on Steam and I just noticed that there used to be a Signature Edition.
So, question, am I missing out a whole lot on being late to notice that a Signature Edition even existed and that I'm around 11 days too late to buy it?

Or does it not really matter?
Probably not, no. The only significant thing you'll be missing out is the extra character/quest, which is available for purchase as DLC anyway.

You're missing out on getting an extra DLC party member for free. That's the big one.
But other than that, it doesn't really matter. And it matters even less because you're too late and that's that. There's no reason not to pre-order now since you'll still get a couple items for it.

The Signature Edition was everything you're getting save for a new companion - Sebastian, an exiled prince - and the mission that went along with him. He'll be available for seven dollars, I believe, for those that missed their chance on the Signature Edition.
Edit: Dammit, I need to type faster.

More games really need to give a range of bodies and not just faces.
I guess I understand the technical limitations with armor and stuff, but enough games do it already that it seems a little silly not to give at least a couple options.
I can't believe Dragon Age 2 is like a month away. How does Bioware manage such a busy release schedule? Besides, you know, parallel teams. Even given that. Hell, I'm just now finishing up Awakening. Granted, I only just got it for Christmas, but still.
On that note, is there some known bug about Justice? Because thanks to Beyond the Veil and Haste of all things, he inexplicably becomes capable of doing 171 points of damage per attack. I have no idea why those spells are suddenly able to double his attack score.

You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

Well...one does have to remember that DA was originally going to be released sometime in Spring 2008 and it got pushed back to Winter 2008 for the console release.
I don't think they had the entire team working in it in that interval.
That's actually based on the concept art they had for her in DA:O. So if anything, we should be happy they made it the way they originally intended. I can't find the actual image to prove it, but it was in the official Strategy Guide.
This winter I'm catching up on good games I missed - Arkham Asylum, Dead Space - and DA is next on the list.
Just looking for advice on what type of character I should use. I'd like an even blend of magic and weapons as thats the way I've always played the Mass Effect games. I'm also an item/equipment hoarder and will waste many hours going through inventory screens.

I really like the class additions Awakening had(well at least for Warrior...the specs for the other classes ranged from okay to meh as far as I can remember).

I hope they kept them for DA2.
They've only revealed 3 advanced classes for the Rogue so far, and two of them are completely new. Not to mention companions now get their own unique advanced classes.

Arcane Warrior is accessible during the Brecillian Forest quest which is available right away, though it might hand you your ass if you attempt it too early. It's a blast, though if you go that route you should probably also have a second mage for buffs. Wynne is great for this. With arcane warrior your magic attribute is used in place of strength for equipping weapons and armour. It also gives you excellent defensive and offensive bonuses, meaning you can deal a pretty good amount of damage with any kind of weapon you want. If you want to go dual-wield, the best weapons have high dexterity requirements, so you'll have to put points into dexterity or use items that boost it. Otherwise you can go two-handed or sword & board, both of which work pretty well. If an arcane warrior has enough buffs, it can be an effective tank.
If you're playing on PC getting a respec mod is recommended so you can always revise and refine your characters. Mana clash is a must. It has a good chance of one-shotting many mages. Shale with the stoneheart talent tree can take a lot of punishment and you can get her very early. Also supplement Shale with buffs.

Cue the fanfiction.
It better be slash fanfiction or I want a refund.

To get that going you have to start as a Mage, then later unlock the Arcane Warrior spec through a quest.
I'm actually getting pretty excited.
