I really love how for Dante instead of going "what things from DMC3 are most iconic" they just went "fuck it, give him everything."
I wish they'd get that attitude with Megaman...
Seriously though, Dante has so many moves it almost looks more obnoxious than anything. It's borderline silly to load up a dude with so many moves, considering this is a 3v3 game. But I guess the DMC fans aren't complaining, huh?

Yeah. Dante's list looks intimidating at first, but they all seem to follow a predictable pattern on how they followup.
Not to mention some moves probably won't see much use.
Dante's move list is incredibly daunting. I don't think I'll be playing him much at first, but down the line when I work out the kinks he may find a comfy spot on my team.
Oh god, one of Weker's counters works against projectiles and has wallbounce, awesome.
Edit: and one of Morrigan's assists instantly gives you %30 hyper bar. That could be really useful
Double edit: Apparently Ammy does too
Wesker's gun cancel into his dash/teleport is going to be a fucking pain depending on how much blockstun there is.

I dont think 30% of a bar is particularly amazing. If you could use that assist to start or extend a combo instead, you're looking at 2 to 3 bars, plus the life lost by your opponent.
for deadpool, does the third teleport just not happen?
I bet it has some kind of "comic" effect.
Whether or not it's just a less effective teleport (vs actually causing vulnerability frames) will have a long term effect on how effective he is, I think.
I believe it works twice, then malfunctions and blows up on him comically.
So how do Dante's moves work? The second time you do the motion its another move?
I've seen the video and see the list, but am not following.
If you do the command for the alt attack either during the startup or during the move (I'm not sure which), it switches to the alt move. Like if you hit hard attack then mash hard during the swing, it'll cancel to his gun shots., or if you do the missile command twice it'll do the grapple instead of the rockets.

Could it be used to power Phoenix?
*edit*. I'm thinking her super that steals life, and her lvl 5. Since dark Phoenix can swap out and recover life, she could be paired with her to good effect... Maybe
It doesn't steal life, it just heals red damage while someone is in the field. It does no damage at all.
Yeah, but coupled with dark Phoenix and a pushdown style, she's supposed go be pretty
Top tier (I know too early) in dark Phoenix mode right! I just keep thinking of how they wanted hakan to be but messed it up, and now overcompensated with Phoenix.
These are all incredible assumptions to make seeing that not alot of people got to play with her at all, plus the fact that the game isn't released yet.
Dark Phoenix is really nothing more than a gimmick. Like someone said, if she's out with 5 bars expect her to be snapped back. Now you have another character out and if you're betting on Dark Phoenix you can't use supers.
If you ignore Dark Phoenix, you have a character with really low health but a super that helps alleviate it. But then again, wouldn't you rather be using that super meter with another character to do damage?
This could all be for naught if regular Phoenix turns out to be a really good character, but I think the odds are stacked against her.

Doesn't matter if she gets snapped back while she's DP...unless you meant while she's Jean Grey. And even then, that means someone has used two bars. Also, I don't think Dark Phoenix is the "goal" for Jean players, rather she seems like a "Well, you dealt with that. Let's see how you handle this." thing.
That being said, I'm going to wait and see. Her gameplay trailer had some decent things, but nothing to the level that says "wow" to me yet. But they said they'd be releasing a few more videos to show off her potential.

Doesnt a game at this breakneck speed kinda negate all those feints Dante has?
I mean- are you going to care what he is flirting with doing while you laser/zombie/hadoken up the screen while calling in assists?
i'm a mis me some juggs.

Do MvC2 tactics still apply? I mean...well, looks like I never played MvC like you were supposed to. Do you still need a balanced team or can you just pick 3 rushdown characters and be effective?
Arthur can superjump, but has no left/right control in the air after he's jumped like the other characters. He has a double jump though. No dash, but has a ground lance thrust move that makes him run across the screen.
Also, I don't think Dark Phoenix is the "goal" for Jean players, rather she seems like a "Well, you dealt with that. Let's see how you handle this." thing.
I agree. forming a team around Dark Phoenix is going to be tricky.
-You can't put Phoenix first on a team, because she's most likely die before getting 5 levels.
-When Phoenix is on point with 5 levels, if your plan is to go Dark, you can't use your supers for fear of getting comboed and losing the resurrection. This means that at least two characters on your team don't get to use supers (the first character on your team, and phoenix), while your opponent has the chance to seriously fuck you up with his meter.
-If phoenix is the last character, and she's got less health than the opponent, expect a lot of people to run the clock and prevent Phoenix from even dying.
My (very) wild guess is that phoenix teams that don't rely on DP will do much better.
I'm asking because I loved Ryu in TvC but I keep hearing he's just not that good in MvC3. Add to the fact that Akuma has been added and I'm considering finally dropping Ryu.

Think the main reason Ryu isn't as good as it was in the TvC is because there isn't a universal airdash. Probably makes it harder for him to get in.

So far most have said that Ryu is pretty terrible, and it seems Akuma is much better now...they might as well just taken Ryu out...but I guess Capcom can't leave out one of their main franchise mascots....oh wait.
As far as MvC2 goes....I've seen videos where they try to play certain characters like MvC2 (Mags for example) and they end up getting destroyed now.

Most of his cancels come out very fast and can be done mid-combo.
I can see how her new feints can make her more complex, but the chain/magic series system should make some of her execution much easier.
Oh shit yeah forgot about that.
I guess I'm thinking more inline on whether she'll have her SJ shenanigans in this game.
The only thing I've heard regarding Arthur's movement is he's the only one in the game without a ground dash, and he also doesn't have an air dash.
Since the characters have been pretty much confirmed already, I wish they would just release the trailers for them.

Edit: I would say that MvC and TvC will both help you in this game.
Snapbacks take one bar, so it's very easy to snap Phoenix out if the opponent is trying to go for Dark.

MvC2 tactics will definitely apply. Team building, proper assist usage and covering, having a battery character, all this will apply in MvC3.
And yes Ryu is kind of awful now.
