Honestly I don't mind either, I like the game for what it is; it just always makes me curious -- the things people choose to bitch about and how they rationalize that it's ok for other chars. (ie. iron man infinite is bs, ken infinite is ok.... seems to only be because iron man is more popular in 2)
I don't really get how the runaway storm is bs, but the infinite by ken is ok, because ken isn't "top tier" ... hrm
Ken's infinites are not the easiest in the world to set up and he doesn't have anywhere near the mobility of Storm. Storm's runaway was so good because whiffing normal attacks would build super meter giving her and the rest of the team plenty of ammo for DHCs or Hail Storm spam. She is a fantastic keep away character, but her mobility also makes her a great rush down character as she can keep people guessing while on the ground and unlike Ken she can actually air combo into super (which can then be DHC'd for more damage). Ken's AA assist and his comparatively hard to set up infinites are all he has. VDO makes him work because the dude is a stellar player. That match is terrible on paper but that's where player skill and the luck factor come in the fill the gap.
(Keep in mind that Ken's standard infinite is corner-only unlike Magneto or Ironman that can do theirs from any part of the stage. I'm pretty sure he has a ground infinite on Sentinel that can be performed midscreen, but then again so does a quarter of the cast.)

I think the Storm stuff is just annoying to listen to to be honest. It makes the runaway extra annoying.
And I definitely don't think the Ken infinite is OK, but it is enjoyable just because I have never seen it before. If I saw everyone using Ken and doing that I would be more upset.
I thought that infinite Ken combo was awesome because the guy was running a really unique and difficult team. Plus, it was an infinite against Sentinel and Cable; picking those guys means you have to put up with whatever comes your way because you've already picked the most bullshit characters in the game.
Regardless, whoever was using Ken/Colossus/Rogue is a winner in my book just because he wasn't going with the typical cheapass best fighters.
And I've never even seen that infinite from Ken while Iron Man's infinite is stupidly easy to execute and thus gets used all the time. The one player basically had to be perfectly positioned in Ken's infinite zone for the infinite to work while Iron Man can just whip out an infinite without any assistance.
Regardless, the way Storm played in that video is the exact sort of thing I really hope we don't see in MvC3. Reasonably being able to keep other players away is one thing, but being able to fly clear out of the screen and spend half of the game almost two full screens away from the opponent is retarded. Storm doesn't like she do can that kind of crap any more, though, and her keepaway game looks severely hampered by the fact that her two main projectile attacks have been seriously altered.
I think people tend to hate getting zoned out in general (despite some characters being built around it)---it's far more annoying to get beat by someone you couldn't touch than it is to get beat by someone who got right next to you and simply countered your moves properly.
It's part of the reason I hate watching Filipino Champ play. He's so fucking good at Dhalsim keepaway it's infuriating to watch.

Curve balls, changeups, outside, and inside pitches are too hard to hit and give you too much of an advantage, you can only throw dick high fastballs down the middle of the plate. Otherwise you're doing it wrong. Welcome to the internet.
Trying to decide just how bad I want to get my hands on this.
I have a Best Buy only 15 minutes away but their demo stations are usually broken or vandalized.
Sad follow up:
I have yet to see a store actually confirmed to have their shit set up. Apparently its more of a upcoming event type thing even though it says "now." I went and got myself trolled by the SRK front page.

Is it just linking to a store locater or are people adding to the list? If people are manually adding they're probably just adding their nearest bestbuy without calling to confirm.

What? Sentinel and Cable are bullshit characters. Fact. Bullshit characters make fighting games less fun. Fact.
So it's bad to want all the characters balanced or what? You point really isn't clear at all.
Basically if the game is flawed the game's flawed. That doesn't make people using the characters that are broken the problem.
Half the cast in mvc2 has some kind of infinite or abusable stuff it's just the big 3-5 characters do it easier than most. If you take Mag/Storm/Sent/Cable/Psy out of MvC2 there are still plenty of broken or near broken characters to fill the gaps and make the game basically the same thing with a slightly different team comp.
Someone translate 'X-Factor' into street fighter terms for me.
It sounds like a hyper powerful FADC that only works once a match and allows for insane near 100% combos. Am I far off?
It's like an FADC that doesn't cost meter but can only be done once, can cancel anything short of being hit (including supers and blockstun), resets damage scaling, and gives you a speed and damage boost for a set period of time afterwards.

The damage boost, possibly speed boost as well since I've never seen it de/confirmed, is based on how many remaining characters you have left. Level one xf with all three alive, level two is with one dead character, level three is with two dead characters on your team. It also regenerates red health for all characters still alive.
Deciding when you use x factor will be the most important decision in your match as cliche as that has started sounding.

That makes more sense, and is also really scary.
Edit:
If you have one character left will it regenerate his/her red health?

This is false. You can bitch about how these characters are too good, or you can actually get good at the game and realize that these characters are actually a lot of fun, bot to play as, and to play against. Sure, its frustrating getting AVHB'd to death if you don't know how to avoid it, but thats the same for literally every fighting game.
Bitching about how some characters are "top tier" and 'bullshit' is dumb.

That's ridiculous.
it always regenerates red health, but using it with only one character left makes it last a lot longer and makes the damage boost more significant
I am so aggravated that the day after MvC3 comes out I have to take a midterm and then hop on a plane to Virginia. So no play time for me until the 20th. Anyone who is playing this the day it comes out, I am angry and jealous.

Everything is boosted per level. (Speed, damage, time)

I might have my first game of the floor hockey season that Wednesday and then that Friday I am staying over in Atlantic City. Not as bad as you, but still. I want to play this game 24/7 for the first year. ;-)
I'm surprised Dormammu is at base level health (I am assuming Ryu is base level). Given his size I'd think he'd be at least up there with She-Hulk. I guess you could argue that's for balance, but well this is Capcom. That's not how they normally roll when it comes to health with only a few exceptions.

the fact that there are 2 female characters with GREATER THAN average health should of indicated that much.
I think phoenix's low health is mostly under the assumption that they'll get out Dark Phoenix. Unless someone discovers something crazy with her, I somehow doubt we'll see much of her.
I'm curious to see where Shuma Gorath falls on that list. I was planning on playing Zero/Akuma/Shuma Gorath (provided he's kinda fun), but that could be a pretty damn low health team. Oh well, the fun I have in this game is just making teams of characters I like, not trying to win or be good.

Tron doesn't count because we are looking at the robot's health. And She-Hulk, well she is a Hulk. Though I was prepared to be laughing at Capcom when they gave her low health for being a girl even though she was a Hulk.

Low health doesn't mean they'll be bad. Hell, look at Strider in MvC2. It just means you'll have to work at getting better at not being hit.

Not that this has any real bearing on this game, but IIRC most of the 'best' characters in MvC2 had below average health (with the biggest exception being Sentinel of course).

Does strider go down in one basic one bar combo from probably every character?
Note that I haven't played MvC2 much so I'm just curious.
