I'm curious to see where Shuma Gorath falls on that list. I was planning on playing Zero/Akuma/Shuma Gorath (provided he's kinda fun), but that could be a pretty damn low health team. Oh well, the fun I have in this game is just making teams of characters I like, not trying to win or be good.

Low health doesn't mean they'll be bad. Hell, look at Strider in MvC2. It just means you'll have to work at getting better at not being hit.

Does strider go down in one basic one bar combo from probably every character?

Note that I haven't played MvC2 much so I'm just curious.

No he doesn't. And neither does anyone in this game other than Phoenix. And while I am willing to admit Phoenix's health looks ridiculous, Kiz didn't say he was going to play her. God speed to anyone who is planning to do that though.

Not that this has any real bearing on this game, but IIRC most of the 'best' characters in MvC2 had below average health (with the biggest exception being Sentinel of course).

MvC2 healthbars were all 144 pixels long, the only difference being the multiplier of how much incoming damage did.

Takes 137% damage: Akuma, Servbot, Roll, Bone Wolverine
Takes 125% damage: Anakaris, Wolverine, Strider, Spidey
Takes 118% damage: Morrigan, Sonson, Marrow
Takes 112% damage: Iceman, Dhalsim, Psylocke, Cammy, Shuma-Gorath, Felicia, Dan
Takes 106% damage: Megaman, Chun-Li, Jill, Magneto, Spiral, Hayato, Storm, Ken, BB Hood, Sabretooth
Takes 100% damage: Ryu, Charlie, Ruby Heart, Cable, Gambit, Guile, Amingo, Captain Commando, Cyclops, War Machine, Iron Man, Bison, Jin, Sakura, Venom
Takes 93% damage: Rogue, Omega Red, Thanos, Silver Samurai, Tron Bonne, Captain America, Dr. Doom
Takes 87% damage: Zangief, Hulk, Juggernaut, Blackheart
    Takes 81% damage: Colossus
    Takes 75% damage: Sentinel

So of the top four, you have two of them taking slightly more damage than average (Magneto, Storm), one taking exactly average (Cable), and one having the best standard health in the game (Sentinel).

A second health bar which you need 5 bars to use.

    With her health constantly draining.

I dunno, maybe she'll be a good very high risk/high reward character.

If you want phoenix on your team, you can't afford to waste super bars, so you're essentially gimping your team's damage if you want to fully utilise her.

Her healing super from what I've seen is only useful in her DP mode where her health is constantly draining so you can use the healing super to counter that, but that means that you have to be constantly building meter and spending meter on that, but from what I've seen it's totally worth it.

Not even a good combo, but a super basic combo. Ryu did a 100% on her that consisted of a basic ground magic series to a level 1 super. She really needs to have something super amazing combat wise to make her anything other than a wasted slot on a team. Hopefully she will.

He has the life siphon grab and his level 3. He and Omega Red have always been pretty difficult for me to place play wise. Marvel games don't really have traditional grappler characters as much but to me it's a huge part of his game plan setting up the siphon and the level 3 so that's my logic for calling him a grappler.

"Given how we have designed the first tournament ready XBox controller, maybe it's time to design a REAL tournament fightstick."

I'd be real interested to see how Razer did it. I don't see anything being very well accepted unless it comes out of the box with Sanwa and is easily moddable.

I'm sure Razer could put out components as good as or better than Sanwa's in terms of precision and feel. I doubt they'd do a modable controller though, and I would bet a small amount of money that the first iteration won't take into account just how rough some arcade players are.

Well of course a six sided gate sucks! Unless you meant octagonal.

A razer stick with parts made from scratch would be interesting, but without ANY option of modability I think it will forever be a niche item that in ten years people will be like "I'm looking for an old razer stick if anyone has one" in the SRK trade forums.

Where are those health numbers from? I don't see how Phoenix is anywhere near viable with what we've seen of her and that much health. She gets caught coming in to assist she's gone for sure, one combo she's gone, totally doesn't seem worth it. Be really disappointing if she's a bust, great design.

I REALLY want to re-do my stick art with an Arthur theme but I'm a disaster with that sort of thing, if anyone wants to help out let me know. Would have to do a color scheme to work with the light blue buttons which should be workable with Arthur.

For some reason I'm insanely psyched about that character, just nostalgia I suppose.
