It also seemed like they intended to create a love triangle between him, Leslie, and Ann, but eventually realized that it'd be more interesting to develop Leslie and Ann's friendship rather than their respective love lives.

    Which was really refreshing.

I mean, how often does that happen in television?

The central rule of having a straight man is that the straight man has to also be quietly funny.

Paul never was funny. He was beleaguered, he was bored, and he was aloof, but he was never funny.

While he did play the Tim/Jim role to Amy Poehler's David/Michael, Tim and Jim both added comedy by remarking upon how ridiculous their workplace was and having as much fun with it while still being on the outside. Paul was on the outside, too, but always seemed irritated by it.

Tim or Jim would have put your stapler in Jell-O. Paul would gotten frustrated from the office humdrum and gone to a driving range.

I liked Paul fine, but he was expendable. Two good things he did were the Zebra and helping Ron get his workshop to code over Ron's libertarian objections.

Adam Scott is much better because he just has the comedy chops.

That's true, but I only found out about Party Down because of Parks and Rec. It somewhat makes it up for me.

Very much this at the end.

Some great lines this episode, and it's interesting to see Ann basically turning into a clone of the Rob Lowe character. Nice to see Leslie a little bit confused about her relationship with Ben.

What I like most about the Leslie Ben relationship is how similar it is to season 1/2 Jim/Pam. The audience knows there is something there but the characters arent quite sure.

And damn it I feel like Andy is just the most adorable character in tv.

Man, I got into this show after catching some episodes on a flight, got caught up, then kinda gave up. Now this thread (and boredom) got me into it again. I just remembered how much I like it. I'm mid-season 2, and Leslie told Ron she has already written his eulogy and it is moving

I laughed more at Jan's cameo when she kept trying to get the door of her locked car open to get away from the camera crew

I'm still trailing behind, on Season 2. Just watched the 94 Meetings episode.

"For me, this is hell. But for Leslie Knope..."
    "YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"

"So I need you to handle as many of these meetings as you can."
"Or, I could go find you six more meetings and make it an even hundred! :D"
    "No."

More Parks and Rec next year? This is the greatest day ever. I suggest we all dress in green (to signify our love of parks) and drink obscene amounts of beer on this day every year to remember these events.

Amy Poehler wants Bill Murray to play the as-yet unseen Mayor of Pawnee.
The inimitable Amy Poehler stopped by her old SNL castmate Jimmy Fallon’s show last night to chat about everything from her hilarious NBC sitcom — EW even got a shoutout for our Parks and Rec cover! — to Will Forte’s neck beard. While there, she also revealed a tidbit of information that might just cause an Internet explosion: She wants Bill Murray to guest-star on the show as Pawnee’s much-discussed but never seen Mayor Gunderson. Because the comedy legend is notoriously elusive, Poehler took this opportunity to address him directly, saying, “Bill Murray, if you’re listening, I will pay you $250 to do one episode of my show.” Who could turn down such a generous offer?

Here's the bit from Jimmy Fallon's show.

    http://www.hulu.com/watch/224373/late-night-with-jimmy-fallon-amy-poehler-part-2#s-p1-sr-i1

I would fully support this bizarre idea.
