Which is funny because I left my guild last night to join another that someone sweet-talked me into, and it turned out to be a guild where random people were constantly being invited (like, think spam-bots that just invite everyone who is unguilded). And people were constantly leaving. So I left too. And my guild rep (I had the highest at the time) disappeared. Not that it matters 'cause I'm not going back.
Though, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there's only guild rep required to BUY the guild rewards. Once you have them, you have them for life.

It is needed to unlock a number of guild achievements as well (assuming you want to contribute to that sort of thing :P)
Speaking of guild achievements, the one for getting 55 reps to exalted requires 1 person in the guild to have 55 reps exalted and be revered with the guild, not 55 exalted reps across everyone in the guild who's also revered with the guild.

What? I thought it required 55 different reputations be exalted with revered members, but not 55 from a single guy.
So far, I'm the only revered person in my guild and also the resident rep-aholic so the counter jumped up to 45 as soon as I hit revered. I assumed whenever someone who had one of the two stupid pvp reps (AV being the non-stupid rep), or Aldor (since I'm Scryer) or whatever got to revered then the counter would increase.
I have 54 reps exalted without Dragonmaw and Earthen Ring and the counter on the achieve shows 54. I know for a fact that the other people who are revered with the guild have Dragonmaw and/or Earthen Ring exalted so that means it should theoretically be completed but it isn't.

Yeah, I'm sitting at 51 exalted myself. I still need Hydraxian, Ashtongue and Scale of the Sands though, so those are doable. Ohter than that, I'm kind of hoping guild exalted counts as one :P
I'm also not a fan of noone even being able to buy the reward yet. At least they're changing the Armadillo one, but I guess the 55 reps one isn't as big of a deal since most guilds don't have people as crazy as me.

Goddamn it. Anyone got any tips for the Bounce! achievement in Hyjal? I keep eventually getting pushed off to the edge of the mat and it doesn't let me bounce from it.
Weird, cause I'm looking at the armory right now and only counting 51, and that's including the horde city factions that aren't showing up for some reason.

Wait, so if you get guildkicked for lols, and rejoin moments later, you don't lose your rep?
If so, I need to tell my GL, so that the officers guild kicking for shits and grins can return.
Officers gkick people all the time in the Shamblers so no, you don't lose rep.
Though it would be funny if someone created an alt that had a similar name to someone in the guild, with a dummy guild named Shambler Mílk, and that person who got kicked accepted the invite into that guild.

I counted Booty Bay, because I figured you had it Exalted at one point. I also counted the five horde city factions that aren't displayed, but some others might be missing too

I am questing there right now. I just did a quest to throw some bear cubs on it, and I saw a guy get the achievement in front of me. But when I bounce on the thing, I bounce a few times, but then I land on the edge of the bear-skin and I don't go back up. Mind you, I'm not landing on the wooden-construct holding the bear-skin.

Just keep forward pushed at all times and use the mouse to keep yourself pointed towards the centre of the thingy.

Warlock, you're not understanding what I'm saying.
I haven't gotten the achievement yet because I haven't made it to the 20 bounces.
Blurbl has the correct answer. Always move towards the center after each bounce.

Theres also a bug after a certain phasing point the bouncing becomes iffy and its impossible to get the achievement. This is a bug that will be fixed in the next patch, or so I hear.

Are they fixing it for sure? I haven't seen anything in the patch notes but I can't believe they'd let that go - it's a pretty obvious bug.

I guess I can't resent name drops like Jarod Shadowsong in WoW quests, because I read the Warcraft books.
Not that it matters anyway, because the context the names are being dropped means you don't actually have to read the books to understand things; they tell you right there with a single sentence who they were. Hurf durf nerd rage incoming.
I don't want to spend additional money to read a book to learn about who I'm helping.

Jarod Shadowsong, in WoW, "Hey this is a good guy, help him."
Grand Moff Tarkin, in Episode 4, "Hey this is a bad guy."
Sometimes just taking people's word for things is enough. If you seek to know everything about everyone (and everything) that shows up in a work of fiction beyond what's actually necessary, that's your own thing to handle because its your desire. Wanna know more about Shadowsong or Tarkin? Read a book.
And guess what? WoW and Star Wars are still enjoyable without the books!
Mind you, I did find Shadowsong's introduction to be super hokey but who really cares. The game tells you exactly what you need to know, even if what there is to know isn't very interesting.
WoW lore is layers of retcons and "whatever seemed cool at the moment" so it's hard to get that invested.

I'm doing the questline involving him right now. But yeah, Ysera's introduction of him is like... spot on what you need to know. All you'd get from the book is just seeing him make commands. You're missing nothing.
Don't get me wrong, context is great to have. But if you desire it, that's up to you to handle. Not everyone desires more context than what's given in the game.

Yes, you keep the items you bought even if you're not in the guild anymore (and can send the heirlooms to alts not in any guild, etc).
