I had a great one the other day. Queued while I was questing. Cutscene starts, I hear the "dungeon ready" noise, cutscene turns out to be completely unskipabble. I then hear the dungeon queue fail noise as I miss it and then a little while later the cutscene ends.
That happened to me in my first-ever queue after Cata dropped. I'd queued for a Wrath Heroic with my brother, and was in the middle of the Grand Tour of Hyjal flight when the queue popped.
We drove Tseric to madness...or so the legend says.
I must admit I'm still so very curious as to the reason(s) behind Eyonix's untimely departure. The conspirator in me says it had something to do with the current direction of the game, but I'm sure (well, sort of) that that wasn't the case. Still, to bail one of the most secure, profitable gaming companies in this economic climate? Not the best of moves, methinks.
I got a slap on the wrist because someone reported me for saying rape in main chat.

Is Blizzard not aware that rape also means to plunder/steal/etc?
Whoa, stop complaining, whiner.
I am stunned you made this post no less than a page after the other one. Seriously man, the game has good and bad, and today I'm discussing the bad. Deal with it.
If you decline three times in a row, the game should automatically give you the Deserter debuff.
That shit needs to stop.
I play a tank and a healer.... and this is a fucking incredible idea.
Or remove the line that tells the player how many bosses left when joining a random. In fact, I don't recall seeing that information before, something new?
Also, I'm all for requiring players to finish all the bosses in a heroic to get the VP. We had a healer leave our group once, and the next one to come in demanded that we skip the other three bosses in Halls of Origination, that final area. He basically said that he wouldn't heal unless we just went to the final boss, then demanded a vote kick so he could avoid the deserter debuff. Unfortunately for him, the other four of us were all in vent, guildies and my room mate. We decided that we'd take a 30 minute break, then boot him. I guess he thought we'd give in or something, and he even tried logging out then back in. It ended up being a bit longer than 30, because a few of us were a bit late coming back to the keyboards...
Anyways, yeah, all bosses down for the VP. New 85 players don't need another hurdle when trying to get gear.
Bashiok is Tseric I'm pretty sure. He went to Diablo after his meltdown and then returned to help with WoW at some point and he's stuck around since. I mean he did just make a nice trolly thread and all.
Eyonix I'm pretty sure quit over the RealID stuff, but we'll never know for sure.
I don't see why it matters if people decline to fish for a partial instance. Your group's at the front of the queue, you'll get another tank/healer in a second. At least it's not the 45s wait that happens when somebody just goes afk.
Eat it You Nasty Pig. on
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet

Having played both a tank and a dps, I think the idea could use some adjustment. Specifically, I'd say if you declined 3 consecutive times in some short period of time (3 minutes, 5?). No reason to turn the dps who has terrible timing on going to bathroom/making coffee/whatever into collateral damage when the guy you want is the tank who's going fishing. Other than that, yeah, not enough lime in the world.
edit: oh, if your battlegroup is waiting just a couple of seconds once the first tank declines you're better off than mine was from what I recall. Usually I recall the wait being around a minute (you're not at the top of the queue. You're behind everyone else who just had their potential group fail to materialize).
Actually I think they DID remove the # of bosses completed thing.
Well then... I've always said Blizzard should hire me. I've always wanted a two handed floppy-cock mace weapon, with full on floppy physics, just to bludgeon baddies with. They think it's a bad idea for some reason.

It's just more time, and the quick queue roles abusing their privilege. I agree that it's really just a minor thing. I still feel that the information shouldn't be shown, though... kinda defeats the whole idea of a "random" queue.
When the random queue system first hit, and everyone was finding out about the tank insta-queue, and seeing that tanks had quite a bit of freedom on how they wanted things to go because of it, they complained and asked that Blizzard do something to basically punish the tanks. When blizzard increased the debuff for leaving a run, the DPS queue times ended up increasing because of it. The tanks that were leaving runs before generally didn't care about an extra fifteen minutes (I refused to do HoR, eventually, and left every single time I got it), and many others just gave up on random queues and stuck with friends.
Just keep in mind, when you increase the time that the tanks and healers have to wait, you increase the time that the DPS has to wait.

Ugh. Haven't down Cho'Gall, Nef or Al'akir and I'm beginning to not care. I'm getting tired of raiding with this guild. There's some people in this guild that are just getting on my nerves and making raids not fun to show up to anymore. It's kinda disheartening.
My guild hasn't done shit, except run more Wrath shit. I mean, there's been a couple of passing attempts at current content, but it's been pathetic. Been thinking about unsubbing... but my boredom comes from the lack of doing anything, not the game itself. So, leaving the guild.
They did happen to finally get the boss in BH down after wiping against him five times on Tuesday. I wasn't there, it was after I basically told them they suck because they aren't doing anything.

You sound like a real barrel of fun.
I died against the LK 97 times before we finally downed him, and we were hitting the enrage timer on Festergut in 25-man while we had the 30% buff.
Wait... what? Was this with a full 25 man raid at 80? Were people just not geared in full triumph (232) gear at least? I feel like something is missing here but 97 times that's just... wow.
Heh, after my post bitching about my guild there was a big blow up and a guild discussion about attitude for the last half hour. Hopefully things got ironed out.
Yeah... 97 personal deaths on the LK. I got lots of battle rezzes, so estimated wipes, around 60-70ish. As I recall, we started him when the buff was 25%. We actually downed him the week before the big talent tree change patch, possibly the day before (just checked, 10/03/2010).
As for Festergut on 25.. Yep, full 25 man groups. Many of us were in ICC-10 gear or better. Our DPS gave the word "bad" a new meaning.
I don't know how many times people would use the excuse "we just need better gear". I explained it many times, that the 30% buff was ridiculously better than any amount of gear was. Blizzard was practically handing ICC to everyone, and we were failing miserably still. Our ten man would often get him down before the second pungent blight... but the 25-man... Yeah, I always kept hard liquor on hand, and would announce when I was making a drink. Everyone would congratulate themselves, too, when we killed him with like 10 seconds left til enrage, and I'd still berate them. We ended up giving up on the 25's altogether, and many players were pissed that they weren't getting to raid.
I started raiding in wrath (only played a bit during BC on a friend's account)... and the guild I'm in is pretty much the same people I started raiding with. I've learned quite a bit from them, both in what to do, and what not to do. I should have left a long time ago, and have been considering it for a long time. Sentimental crap kept me there for so long. I just feel like the majority of the players expect to get pulled through everything, and don't even realize it. I've talked to many players, made multiple speeches, ranted... and nothing's changed. I don't have any hope left that they'll improve.

Your guild should have downsized to 10 man and booted the shitty players. With Cata now, 10 man guilds get the same rewards as 25.
Right at the end of Wrath, our guild leader ended up quitting WoW due to real life issues. I had quit because of him (and everything else), and came back afterwards, thinking that the majority of the problems were due to him. If I hadn't left, the guild lead probably would have gone to me, and I probably would have done just that. I honestly don't want the responsibility though. Leading the raids was enough for me, and I didn't like being the bad guy all the time (one of the issues I had with the old leader, being the one to chew people out).
I went back after he quit, though. The new leader is a really nice guy, and one of the guild's better players. His leadership skills are nil. I've tried to suggest multiple changes to get things going in the right direction, and organized a couple meetings. Another player has been trying to get raids going, halfassedly. We basically had one tank, me... the others were either unavailable to raid, or just bad.
I know it's easy to talk about how everything was everyone else's fault. Obviously, I'm not the best player out there. I think the problems in our guild have always been the same... bad leadership. I have to admit that I'm to blame for that as well, not being hard enough on the raiders. It was part of one of the things I told the guild two weeks ago, being harder on raiders, expecting more from them, and simply calling a raid if we can't get 10 players to perform up to par. When raid night came around (we had it posted for about a week and a half, giving players time to look into their specs, practice, ask questions...) and only 10 players were logged on, not all wanting to raid, that's when I decided to give up on them.
I've never stepped foot inside ICC, so I'm assuming that's super bad.
You had about five or six minutes until Festergut would enrage. It was a DPS race. When ICC first came out, it was a challenge for raids that were first encountering him, requiring a minimum amount of DPS from everyone. As they got better gear, it became trivial for better guilds.... and when the ICC buff came out, it was a cakewalk for them. The ICC buff was pretty much how I defined it, Blizzard's way of making the raid easier for players so that everyone would eventually have a solid shot at facing the Lich King. The buff would increase everyone's health, damage, and healing by a percentage. It started at 5%, and went all the way up to 30%.
So, yeah... 30% damage increase, 30% more health, and 30% more healing... Not to mention most of the players having 245ish average iLevel. And our 25-man runs would still have trouble killing him before the timer ended. It was VERY bad.
Enrage timers are the best. It's the comeuppance tanks and healers, high on the smell of the own farts, have to suffer for treating the DPS as completely useless.
Bashiok is Tseric I'm pretty sure. He went to Diablo after his meltdown and then returned to help with WoW at some point and he's stuck around since. I mean he did just make a nice trolly thread and all.

Wha???
Enrage timers are the Tanks/Healers proof that the DPS are fucking idiots.
I dunno, healers have the 'do what I want or I won't heal you' card, tanks have a similar 'my way or I won't move an inch' card, it makes sense dps would look at enrage timers as a way of getting their own brand of justice. Especially rogues, since vanish still works to live through a lot of botched raid encounters

Ah that's right. I knew it was a former WoW dude though.
Someone claiming to be Deathwing's heart, and having to wear a mask to keep his soul in his body, and also he's a red dragon and cries dragon tears.
Also, someone 'giving birth' in front of everyone.
There was a guild on raveholdt for a while that was some kind of weird nefarian worship and/or up with dragons cult.
I got invited to their vent once and the motd in there was some weird thing about sexing up onyxia. It read like a sixth grader had written it.
Fortunately they didn't RP in vent
I would never join a Vent advertised in the game.
A couple weeks ago when I popped onto Moon Guard to see how it had become since I last looked at it two years ago (summary: holy fuck it's bad), one of my RID friends said she was going to try one of the Vent servers advertised for sex. What she got once logging in was an earful of some guy panting and groaning and she left a second later, forever scarred.
