Help buying a camcorder

My girlfriend and I are having a baby and she wants a camcorder to record baby stuff, like the shower and messages to the baby. I have never owned a camcorder so I thought you fine people could help me out. I think our price point is around $300.

    Get a Flip camera, or something along those lines. If you get something big you'll be less likely to carry it around with you.
