I know if you have to ask.....(Job E-mail)...(Please Lock)
I received an email today, which I'll quote for you here:
Swatch Group Job Application
Greetings,
We would like to present you a part-time job offer as a finance officer for our company, Swatch Group. Our company sells deluxe watches in Europe and in some areas in United States. We would like to extend our business in your region, that is why this part-time job was created.
Processing a payment involves the following:
1. Receive the payment from our customers by Bank Transfers.
2. Pick up the payment from your account and keep your 10% commission fee.
3. Send the rest of the money to one of our headquarters in Europe.
This job will require about 1-2 hours per day from your time and your incomes will start from 250-300 USD per week to 500USD per week.
If you are interested in our offer please visit our website by clicking on the following link:
Now, I've reviewed the website and there is quite a bit of information put up if it's a scam, but I'm unsure as to why any company would require an "employee" to do this.....obviously it seems too good to be true, and it most likely is, but seeing as how I'm currently unemployed anything like this is worth a second look.
I could kick your ass. Are you really this stupid?
1. Receive the payment from our customers by Bank Transfers.
2. Pick up the payment from your account and keep your 10% commission fee.
3. Send the rest of the money to one of our headquarters in Europe.
This is like the oldest trick in the book.

Scam.
Any job requiring you to put money into your account, withdraw some portion and send it overseas using Western Union is a scam. A global company would have their own bank accounts and ability to transfer money with using middlemen and Western Union.
YOUR JOB AS A FINANCE OFFICER
1. Receive the payment from our customers in your area by Bank Transfers.
2. Withdraw the payment from your Bank Account.
3. Send 90% of the payment amount to one of our headquarters via Western Union.
4. 10% of the payment amount will be your commission.

I was waiting to read about the Nigerian royalty, but I couldn't find it anywhere on the website! I've never seen something like this for a real company before. Swatch actually exists, that's what confuses me.

If it were really Swatch don't you think they would have directed you to apply at the Swatch website >_<

But the link I've supplied takes you to the same website.
no it doesn't, it takes you to a website that looks the same but isn't run by swatch at all. see how the url is for this website: http://www.vernioztt.com/ ? it's all part of the scam so you trust it a little more.
if you want an explanation of what the scam is, it is this:
1. you get fake cheques sent to you
2. you cash the cheques into you account, than send them money
3. a month later the cheques bounce and the bank takes back all the money you thought you were cashing.
the scammer gets a bunch of real money from you, and your out $$$$.
You know this is a scam. This is indisputable. The only reason you're asking is because you really want it to not be a scam, so you're trying to rationalize how this could be legit. Stop being naive and vulnerable and stop trying to rationalize how a job that you know is a scam might possibly not be a scam. That's precisely how they get away with this shit. Because people like you want so badly for it to be true that you swallow a bunch of obvious horse shit trying to convince yourself that this opportunity of a lifetime is legit. Nothing about this offer makes any sense. Don't feel bad that you almost fell for it, just resolve to not do it again.

Yeah I know it's a scam, but it's the best one I've ever seen!

Yeah I know it's a scam, but it's the best one I've ever seen!
No, it's a bullshit scam and it's obvious. The only reason it looks good is because you're desperate for a break. Nothing at all about this makes any sense.
phising (exact clones of real ones, setup to trick people) websites are very very common now for scamming.
never ever ever enter any personal information into a website link you get from an email, whether it be for a job application, a bank, a mmo, etc.
instead go to the actual website of the company yourself and look for the same place.
Funny, I thought I was trying to help you not delude yourself. You need to be brutally honest with yourself about why you tricked yourself into thinking this might possibly be legit. But sure, respond to the scam next time. That'll sure teach me.
I'm sorry you feel chastised but Druhim is right. The scam is an old one and painfully obvious. I can only assume that you're defending it because you almost fell for it. Live and learn.

For instance a Swatch job page looks like this: http://www.swatchgroup.com/en/human_resources/job_offers
Not the gobbliegook you have.
But the link I've supplied takes you to the same website.
No, it takes you to a cloned page off of this site: http://www.vernioztt.com/
Sweet god do you want to be scammed? You can't even find the finance officer job on the REAL Swatch site.
