I also try to go to see the symphony whenever possible, if that counts as a hobby
I went and saw the Firebird in Boston a while ago and I guess no one there had heard it before cause they all did a little jump when it got to first big sting of the infernal dance.

So are video games a hobby?

Because other than that and reading I guess I don't have any.

    My interests are more varied.

Oh shit, yeah I read some too.

Seriously, anyone have tips on guitar? Like, where I should start? Should I just have people show me songs? Or should I start out with how to do a G chord, A chord, etc.
basically learn wonderwall then you'll be like HEY COOL MAYBE I SHOULD STICK WITH THIS A BIT then learn blackbird and you will be able to mildy impress your non-guitar friends, then learn the power chords and suddenly you will find yourself ready to start earning fame & fortune as well as an endless supply of cheap women and fast cars.

Also learn how to do a Rubik's Cube.
Took me like a day to memorize.
After a week I could do it in under a minute and a half easy.
Its something to do when you have some free time and feel like mildly impressing whoever is around you.

    I play video games.

Also, I just got a guitar for Christmas, so I want to work on that. But two of the tuning knobs are loose, so when a string vibrates, it rattles.

I'm not sure where to actually start with learning to play.

Tuning pegs shouldn't really be causing string vibration unless they're like, about-to-fall-off loose, and then I don't even think that'd be the culprit.

It could just be that the guitar's action (the height of the strings from the guitar frets) is too low.

I could give better advice with the following answers:

Which strings are rattling and how?
Do they rattle no matter how lightly you strum?
If you're not holding any frets, do the strings still vibrate?
If no, which frets do the strings vibrate on? (If it starts at fret 1 and doesn't stop vibrating until you hit fret 12, then 1-12 for example.)

And yes, chords are the most basic starting point. The link I posted earlier in the thread has pretty big chord listing on there, though not as much as the guitar-chord wall poster that was mentioned.

Actually in most cases I come out with a painting or some such. Hardly worth anything on the market, its just hangs on the wall for some reason or the other. Most cases, its because I have little to do with my money, not because I am rich, hardly that, but because I can get my expenses done and still have some left over to do nothing with.

I do however want to go north into Barrie and such and see the stores there. I might find them interesting but actually I have to get the drive to go there and get the ticket as well since my monthly pass doesn't cover barrie and the surrounding areas.

Oh, I know exactly why it rattles. I guess it's hard to explain. It's not that the pegs are loose, but the knobs at the end of the pegs are. See, you have the rod, and the flat part which are like pushed onto the rod so that you can turn the rod. The flat parts are loose on two of the rods. Already talked to the store it came from and they're getting replacement pieces.

I should add that I like travelling as well. A Couple of years back I was in Hong Kong for a week or so. It was pretty fun and I got lots of items. As with me I go with one suitcase and come back with 3. Japan is in April and maybe in 2 or 3 years China will be my next stop with Korea (South), Malaysia, Singapore and Indoeasia as my stops in Asia. Germany, Scotland and England on the western side would also be nice. I hardly know anything about Germany so it would be good just to go and learn stuff.

It's not because of WoW, I just hate the cold and the snow so much I become much more of a recluse during the winter months. Once spring starts up again I will probably get back into the normal swing of things, but for now leave me with my wonderful Night Elf Druid who can now fly by the way.

Hmm, still seems like that wouldn't 'cause any string rattling though. If it comes to mind, shoot me a PM when the store replaces those pieces to see if that does the trick.

Nooooo JC, the string doesn't rattle, when you pluck a string, it vibrates, causing the guitar to vibrate, causing the loose flat knob piece to rattle.

    what?

It's not like a fucking STD. You're not obligated to tell a girl "I like Dungeons and Dragons" before you start to court the lass.
