I also try to go to see the symphony whenever possible, if that counts as a hobby
I went and saw the Firebird in Boston a while ago and I guess no one there had heard it before cause they all did a little jump when it got to first big sting of the infernal dance.
Because other than that and reading I guess I don't have any.
My interests are more varied.
Oh shit, yeah I read some too.
Seriously, anyone have tips on guitar? Like, where I should start? Should I just have people show me songs? Or should I start out with how to do a G chord, A chord, etc.
basically learn wonderwall then you'll be like HEY COOL MAYBE I SHOULD STICK WITH THIS A BIT then learn blackbird and you will be able to mildy impress your non-guitar friends, then learn the power chords and suddenly you will find yourself ready to start earning fame & fortune as well as an endless supply of cheap women and fast cars.
Also learn how to do a Rubik's Cube.
Took me like a day to memorize.
After a week I could do it in under a minute and a half easy.
Its something to do when you have some free time and feel like mildly impressing whoever is around you.
Also, I just got a guitar for Christmas, so I want to work on that. But two of the tuning knobs are loose, so when a string vibrates, it rattles.
I'm not sure where to actually start with learning to play.
Tuning pegs shouldn't really be causing string vibration unless they're like, about-to-fall-off loose, and then I don't even think that'd be the culprit.
It could just be that the guitar's action (the height of the strings from the guitar frets) is too low.
I could give better advice with the following answers:
Which strings are rattling and how?
Do they rattle no matter how lightly you strum?
If you're not holding any frets, do the strings still vibrate?
If no, which frets do the strings vibrate on? (If it starts at fret 1 and doesn't stop vibrating until you hit fret 12, then 1-12 for example.)
And yes, chords are the most basic starting point. The link I posted earlier in the thread has pretty big chord listing on there, though not as much as the guitar-chord wall poster that was mentioned.
twice a week i play dungeons & dragons. there are two seperate groups, although there's a couple guys who are in both. one is a homebrew campaign setting i created, and with the other group we alternate weekly between my greyhawk campaign and my brother's eberron campaign.
i also enjoy airsoft, although i don't really get to play right now what with the winter and all.
i play city of heroes a lot
i work on small rpg maker projects
and independant comics nobody gets to see because i only do them to practice my skills

i used to not think that well of you, but now
well, you're a player who plays women like nothing

i love sports and football and martial arts and monster trucks

that kind of attitude is why nerdy dudes get shit on in high school and don't do sports
society tells them they are a nerd and they just take it like a bitch and buy into the stereotypes
fuck that shit with a coat hanger
I think you're completely off-base here
I have absolutely no interest in fucking football or monster trucks, not because "society tells me not to" but because I tend to enjoy cerebral things (not that football has no be non-cerebral, admittedly)
however that doesn't mean I let anyone fucking shit on me if I can fucking help it
I am proud to be a nerd, because I like nerdy things, but I played soccer, had girlfriends, and certainly didn't let people fucking shit on me like that
Not because I refused to be nerdy, but because I'm fucking proud of everything I like and who I am
do you hide the fact that you play D&D then? I understand not fucking making it the first thing you talk about, but if you've known a girl for a couple of weeks or months, do you lie about where you are going?
I read Manga, watch Anime, Play JRPG's. I also go wandering out into downtown toronto and search all those little shops in hope of something good. I would call myself an explorer, but I don't really explore anything. Most of the time I come out with a couple of games, Anime Figures or that hard to find Manga.

Hobbies: Building computers, Video Games, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Surfing, but Downhill Skiing most of all sports. Drinking and clubbing. Women. I am also obsessed with movies. Fantasy games.
In short i am like everyone else here cept i like sports more, and I am getting my masters in architecture... which is also a hobby, or a project. I am always doing projects. Right now i am designing a 5 story Theater and classroom building for a nearby college.
Actually in most cases I come out with a painting or some such. Hardly worth anything on the market, its just hangs on the wall for some reason or the other. Most cases, its because I have little to do with my money, not because I am rich, hardly that, but because I can get my expenses done and still have some left over to do nothing with.
I do however want to go north into Barrie and such and see the stores there. I might find them interesting but actually I have to get the drive to go there and get the ticket as well since my monthly pass doesn't cover barrie and the surrounding areas.

Oh, I know exactly why it rattles. I guess it's hard to explain. It's not that the pegs are loose, but the knobs at the end of the pegs are. See, you have the rod, and the flat part which are like pushed onto the rod so that you can turn the rod. The flat parts are loose on two of the rods. Already talked to the store it came from and they're getting replacement pieces.

I basically stopped going to the gym, and I haven't gone to a kickboxing class in months. I basically just play WoW now.
I wouldn't say WoW is a hobby, its more of an addiction. At least to the friends i haven't seen in years because of it. If i were you i would quit now before it just starts getting depressing. That feeling of usefulness isn't going to last long.
I should add that I like travelling as well. A Couple of years back I was in Hong Kong for a week or so. It was pretty fun and I got lots of items. As with me I go with one suitcase and come back with 3. Japan is in April and maybe in 2 or 3 years China will be my next stop with Korea (South), Malaysia, Singapore and Indoeasia as my stops in Asia. Germany, Scotland and England on the western side would also be nice. I hardly know anything about Germany so it would be good just to go and learn stuff.

It's not because of WoW, I just hate the cold and the snow so much I become much more of a recluse during the winter months. Once spring starts up again I will probably get back into the normal swing of things, but for now leave me with my wonderful Night Elf Druid who can now fly by the way.

Nooooo JC, the string doesn't rattle, when you pluck a string, it vibrates, causing the guitar to vibrate, causing the loose flat knob piece to rattle.
