Sound Card Problems

I had a new sound card installed about a year ago, and it has worked fine until 2 weeks ago, and my computer started telling me any time I tried to play sound that my sound card is in use by another program. My computer is a dirty liar, because I have only two programs up . 1. Opera and 2. Winamp.

Any ideas?

I've had this problem with winamp a few times before. Reinstalling the drivers worked for me, though I can't recall any other solutions I tried.

Well, it's not just winmp. Its itunes, the zune software, WMP, and my internet browsers.

Have you tried updating your sound card drivers? Or if you have the latest rollback and then reinstall the latest. It could be a simple driver bug.

I'm curious if these crazy driver problems will get worse or better with Vista, as people have said that since video card drivers now need to have all the DRM stuff they will suck more.

I know it's not just winamp. Fix your drivers anyway.
