Alas, I have the PS3 version so no free save for me.

That would be the perfect spot too, since that would allow me to save early on after
the part where you hang upside down. I died so many times there.

Yesss, I beat it. Awesome game.
I hated the part where you're basically just running, but after that it got awesome again. Especially being saved by Ellie. I thought the ending was going to suck, so I'm glad she came back.
Also, like others have said this is GOTY material for sure. This and Little Big Planet 2 are already contenders for me and these were both in Jan. I think it's going to be an awesome year for games.

This may be old news, but to those that don't know, if you wait until the end of the credits, you get a secret voice log.
The voice log is of some EarthGov hierarch talking about how the Sprawl was just one site of many, so as the Sprawl is getting infected, other cities and colonies were getting infected too. It essentially made any effort by Isaac completely pointless. Well, except for knowing how to destroy markers with his mind, now.

Rawr, period, rawr You just totally killed that spoiler and made me look like a jackass Your kind is dead to me now

Sigh. 2 hours down the drain because stasis sometimes bugs and doesn't properly affect Lurkers. Good old Hardcore.

Out of interest, curly haired boy, where did you make your second and third saves during your Hardcore run?

I literally just listened to it. Crazy.

Ok, so hardcore. Only 3 saves, so if I quit, I start where my last save was, right? So to actually do this I need to play like, what? 5 chapters a play session?

unless your on 360, in which case you play the whole of Disc 1, and then never turn the machine off on Disc 2, so you can use all your saves in the final 5 chapters, which are by far the hardest.

    Brr.

Couple other things, EvilBritishLeaderGuy was the Overseer that the text log in Chapter 15 mentioned, I think. And did anyone else freak out when the saw the completed Marker 12 on the main menu?

no. 1 was just before the first tripod after exiting the hospital

no. 2 was just before entering the elementary school

no. 3 was just before the dark machine

but don't take my example as a rock-solid template. different people have different trouble spots, and there are lots of places in the game where you can get overwhelmed. i've bolded the parts where i had the most trouble.
    first tripod boss
    train sequence
    first pack sequence
    uni church, several areas
    leaper-heavy battle after uni church
    pack in school
    solar elevator tripods
    base jump back to sprawl
necro onslaught waiting to get into CEC
    spinny blades in the factory
    tank detonation with tripods
    ishimura
    etc.

So the last part before the final leader...
Did everyone just run by all the necros? Cause on my Zealot run I killed all the necros in each room section and quickly looted the area while either stasising the regenerator or blowing off all his limbs with either the detenator, force gun or javalin as needed. (all of which I had mostly upgraded except for capacity)
The outside parts I just ran through blasting stuff with my force gun. (Used the alt fire on the spitters, I would also drop a detenator mine behind me from time to time to blow off all the legs on the regenerator.)

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

I think I figured out why the
Marker signal containing the Marker's schematics didn't drive Isaac complete insane: he's an engineer. It's like how Osterman put himself back together in Watchmen, only at a subconcious level.

Plus, did Marker 12 get destroyed because Isaac used the psychic link he had with it to destroy it, or did he do it through shere willpower and anger?

Just beat this game on zealot; 3 guns, stasis, and advanced suit fully upgraded and around 80 javelin ammo, 120 line cutter, 25 or so contact beam around the end. I think I did it wrong, I was neurotic about efficiency for most of the game, more so than I needed to be it seems.

I really kind of wish we would have gotten more story about the exact nature of what the marker is/does, why it was made (originally, by the aliens that is).
Otherwise great game, not even sure what my favourite part was, that chapter where you come back to the Ishimura and it's all covered up in plastic and stuff was pretty great though.

    edit: my bad, minor spoiler.
