Man... Fuck this game. It got me with the steam from the ceiling on my second run through. I totally forgot about it. D:

What always gets me is when you've just got your flash light and you walk into that room and you're hearing tons of skittering noises. By the time you get to the end of the room, BZZZZM the holoscreen turns on. Guddam.

Yeah... That got me too. But I didn't jump nearly as hard as with the steam.

So what I'm finding is that my NG+ run is more fun than the first time through. The first time you play it for the experience. The second time you play it to be a space zombie killing badass.

So I don't know if this is a coincidence, easter-egg, or insight into necromorph behavior, but:
The black dude that initially wakes you up and goes necromorph on you reappears in the Unitologist building, in the darkened storage hallway right before you fight your first pair of Lurkers. Not too important, but fun to notice.

Whoever told you that is sorely mistaken. Dead Space: Aftermath is an honest-to-Altman cinematic tour de force. I recommend the blu-Ray version just so you don't miss a single stunning detail.

dear god i hope that's sarcasm

It most certainly is not. If you don't have a blu-Ray player or an HDTV, Dead Space: Aftermath single-handedly justifies both purchases.

I don't think Daina has any sense of racial awareness. She even braids her hair like Kendra, which, by the way, was my first indication that she was a complete bitch. Which, by another way, I got jipped out of killing a back-stabbing Dead Space bitch, again. You owe me Visceral.

Wow, what a ride. Decided to just go for the end tonight and essentially burned through Chapters 11-15.
The Regenerator Gauntlet was so aggravating. I burned through a lot of stasis energy as well as ammo that I was sort of fucked for the Nicole fight. I mean, there were so many unopened lockers. They were much too tempting to pass up on the way to the final stage. Essentially all I had left for the finale was 250 Pulse rifle rounds. Thank god those necro shadows dropped health packs and ammo.

The ending with Ellie was cute. Sort of bummed out Stross marred that beautiful face. But then again, there has been a precedent set with females making eye patches look sexy.

I'm probably not going to sleep tonight.

Downfall was really fucking abysmal, and people say Aftermath is worse.

This makes me want to never see Aftermath.

As someone who agrees that Downfall was a complete waste of everyone's effort, I think Aftermath is a lot better. It's not good, but it's also not an animated abortion. As someone else said, it uses like four different styles of animation that all look decent (much better than Downfall, anyway), but they are bookended by the godawful CG sequences.

It cannot be understated how goddamned terrible the CG is. That screencap is bad, but it looks even worse in motion. Whatever studio put it out should be fucking embarrassed to put their name on it.

If you can get it cheap, and you can get past the CG (which takes up about 20 minutes in total), you can most certainly do worse. Like, say, Downfall.

my interested in the animated movies is rendered mute by the fact they appear to be non-cannon & this is coming from a guy that kinda enjoyed Downfall, but even that game got event's wrong.

(the death on the bridge, now i understand that IT'S possible it played out like the way it's shown in DOWNFALL, but DeadSpace the game, makes it really unlikely).

Yeah, just checked the visceral store. The necklace doesn't seem that cool to me. There really doesn't seem to be any cool Dead Space merch. Some of the Necromorph action figures look alright, but I'd rather have some detailed statues. Something cool like the Noble team thing that came with Reach. I want some Dead Space stuff... dammit.

Also, I would be up for some 360 DS MP. Tag is Skull2185. I've only played about ten minutes worth of MP(Read: I'm not very good), seemed ok, but I don't really have anyone to play with.
