Those legos are seriously hypnotic.
Hey pipe, have you seen this concert footage? Other than the conductor's super-70's hair, I am fascinated by watching Rubinstein play. The way his hands move over the piano... it's just mesmerizing.
If you ever want a Viking funeral or really just want to greet the day in the most epic of fashions, Wagner cures what ails you. Tannhauser Overture muthafucka.
I was a fan classical music for quite some time but JESUS FUCK, hearing it played in an opera by a live orchestra.. I couldn't stop grinning the whole time because of how beautiful it sounded

And I know they might be clichée, but Vivaldi's four seasons are simply wonderful to me.
you can really hear how they sound like the respective seasons, feel the fresh vitality of spring, the powerful life of summer, the melancholy of autumn and the coldness and seriousness of winter.

I agree, people diss it because it's been so overplayed but it's a wonderful piece of music.

Yesterday night we opened up the 2011 season with a fantastic performance of Turandot. I mean, I was great. The audience would have been throwing me flowers if I wasn't just a chorus person. The leading lady has performed the role at The Met and La Scala, so you guys can't even imagine what it is like for me standing a few feet away while this music flows out of her mouth. There wasn't a dry seat in the house.
The tenor is okay. I feel like he wasn't singing out completely except for when he sang Nessun Dorma, which is the famous song but holy fuck it is like 2 minutes long in a 3 hour opera. And it's at the very end of the show. At least the rest of the cast was ready to bring it.
This would be my favorite movie score piece: (Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, I believe ... or at least they make the great reproduction that's on my iTunes now)

Even though I seem to remember you saying you dislike opera, which is terrible, because opera is awesome.
"Sandra has a good solid anti-murderer vibe. My skin felt very secure and sufficiently attached to my body when I met her. Also my organs." HAIL SATAN
that is a fallacy.
also that's Rubenstein performing Chopin and not opera at all.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

E: No I was just saying that I seem to remember (falsely) you saying you didn't like opera, and that not liking opera was a terrible thing to do
but since you do like opera
we cool, man

Fiz.
Fiz really hates opera.
If I were Fiz I'd want to be in an opera where they flew a helicopter around and had robot characters and explosions.
Fiz should totally have been in that version of Benvenuto Cellini, is what I'm saying here. I'm obsessed with it.

None of the huge hand sweeps and head leans and LOOOOK AT MEEEE I'M PLAYING THE PIANO

Actually no it's more like I'm not the biggest fan of solo voices which Opera tends to have many of
I much prefer choirs or small ensembles (A SATB quartet for example)

Dude had class, buckets of it. No throwing his head around and pulling stupid faces or any of that shit. Dignified playing.
I've always liked this.

Instantly became one of my favorite pieces as soon as I heard it.
It got used in a movie trailer for something that's going to be released soon, and in the red letter media review of SW3 too.
