MX vs ATV Reflex for £3.65 at Direct2Drive UK. If you use the promo code PAYDAY you have a 20% discount and you get it for £2.92.
The game can be registered in Steam.
I saw it but had no idea if it could be registered on steam. I bought Magicka off there.

I looked on the list of retail keys that can be registered on Steam and couldn't see it, so can someone confirm this either way? That list has been the end-all up to this point, so I'm prepared to trust it more than I am a forum or website that says so.
I guess so, it sucks because I wanna know if my copy of Rainbow six Vegas 2 would register or not. (The disc is downstairs, I'm too tired to go get it).
Tangentially steam related but I moved steam to my toolbar to clear up my desktop and for a little bit the icon was there... Now it just shows one of those unknown file type icons for both steam and EVGA precision but the rest of my taskbar icons are showing normally.
Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? windows 7

Did you try just deleting the shortcut from your toolbar and re-adding it?
I've had that happen with certain programs after updates but never with Steam to my recollection. As Gaslight said just try deleting them from the bar and trying again.
Also something about voice chat, which I assume makes it better.
EDIT: And if I'm reading it right, it has some slightly better handling of how game invites are displayed.
That sounds pretty awesome! A similar screenshot button across the board is a great idea, in my opinion. I wonder if I can change it to more familiar buttons though..

Yeah that didn't work... in fact the icon in my program menu doesn't have the steam picture anymore either. I wonder if I just somehow lost the file path to it.
The icon that pops up in the right hand side taskbar for things like sound and internet connection has the steam icon pop up when it's backgrounded but the actual pic for the shortcut at the bottom of my screen in the main toolbar doesn't work.
EDIT: fixed it by relinking the icon to the exe and repinning it to the toolbar.
Added Steam screenshots feature. Press F12 in any game to take a screenshot. Screenshots are automatically uploaded to the steam cloud after exiting the game, or can be manually uploaded while in-game through the in-game overlay. Screenshots can be managed through the community site and can be published to your Steam Community Profile to share with your friends. Games that use DirectX 8 and earlier are not yet supported.
Also something about voice chat, which I assume makes it better.

Yeah, a Valve guy confirms in the thread that you can change the button.
Unfortunately the beta is crashing whenever I launch a game, so I can't actually try out the screenshot stuff. From reading the Steam forums, the beta is crashing for a lot of people.

Is there an easy way to revert from the Beta back to regular Steam if the crashed become a problem?

Going by a post on the Steam forums, you can launch Steam with -clearbeta. I think what it does is self explanatory.
Thanks, Peewi! I will try this beta.
Just played a couple of single-player rounds of MNC for cheevos with the beta Steam client and no crashes. Just wish I could set my SS key to a mouse button without having to assign the mouse button to a key.
I guess so, it sucks because I wanna know if my copy of Rainbow six Vegas 2 would register or not. (The disc is downstairs, I'm too tired to go get it).
It seems that they only recently stopped updating it, so I don't think Vegas 2 was ever possible to register.
I had to wait until it went on sale. I enjoyed the first game a lot.

Steam thread! Have you played Trine? Very nice game. I find myself playing as the Thief through almost all of it, except for the parts where I have to change characters briefly in order to solve a quick puzzle, but then I'm right back to the Thief.
Is there another game where I can play a character like Trine's Thief?
To summarize:
- Side scrolling game (doesn't have to be)
- Physics puzzles (don't have to be)
- Thief shoots arrows that respond to gravity/physics, so combat is more dynamic than just click, click, click.
- Thief has a grapple hook that you use to swing around and shit.
Any ideas?

You want grappling hooks, eh? I think you should get Bionic Commando (both Rearmed and teh 2009 game). They don't really have any of that other stuff, though.
Focusing on the first two points I would have went old school and suggested Lost Vikings...but then I couldn't find it via GOG/Blizzard and then got sad.

Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
Finally installed Magicka...only to discover it's completely unplayable on my computer, even on the very lowest graphics settings.
Not mad, because it's my fault for not trying the demo first, but still disappointed.
Felt the same way about BIT.TRIP.BEAT. I didn't bother checking the specs and how it compared to my netbook because, shit, look at it, that's gotta work!
Turns out, no An email to and from the developers confirmed as such.

Welp, managed to get through both Kane & Lynch games over the past two days. I am now looking forward to playing a game with at least one character who isn't an asshole.
I got Magicka working, kinda. Went to my video card's settings and basically told it, "I want you to take the day off, stop doing anything fancy. Whatever I play, just let it look like ass."
...and then Magicka crashed just as I was starting to enjoy the tutorial. :P
Hmmm, Rearmed looks kinda neat. I tried the third-person one when it first came out and I didn't really like it all that much. Controls felt awkward.
Rearmed is a lot of fun, and it has a grappling hook. Unfortunately, the grappling hook doesn't feel the same as Trine's. It's more of a way of getting directly from platform A to platform B than it is a thing for gracefully launching yourself into the air so that you can pretend to be spiderman.
The last game I played that had a grappling hook as good as Trine was an ancient multiplayer deathmatch game called Liero. For some reason stretchy elastic grappling hooks aren't very popular with game developers.
Finally, here's a slightly broken yet extremely delightful tiny game called Super Secret Ninja. The levels are randomly generated, the grappling is hard to master, and the game is just unforgiving in general. Also, pole vaulting. It's great.
Hey guys, I recently set up a steam account to do some PC game while on work travel. I'm looking for some single player PC games to occupy my time since hotel and overseas internet is usually pretty spotty? I've got an Xbox and PS3 so I'm not interested in anything I can play on console? Also, I've got Starcraft 2 and HoN but haven't played many PC games in the last 10 years besides those. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Any of you guys and gals use gamersgate for something that wasn't registerable on Steam? I wanna but Two Worlds but never tried gamersgate before.not sure if it uses it's own launcher our what.

Dammit, okay. Erm, lets see........ Bionic Commando Rearmed 2?
Sadly, it does not look like BCR2 has been announced for PC.

1. When does that go off sale? I'm debating how much longer I have to debate.
2. Normally if you buy an expansion pack it comes with $10 worth of sims store points or whatever. Do the ones in the steam pack include that?

On the freeware front, Gravity Hook HD, You Found the Grappling Hook!, and Give Up Robot 2 might get you a quick fix.
Finally, here's a slightly broken yet extremely delightful tiny game called Super Secret Ninja. The levels are randomly generated, the grappling is hard to master, and the game is just unforgiving in general. Also, pole vaulting. It's great.
