The trailer for that game is spectacular. Such fitting music!
"HARVESTING!"
"DUMPING!"
"VEHICLE LIGHTS!"
Speaking of trailers ...
The Trailer of this game: Dead Island blew me away.
Don't care what the game is like but that trailer is AWESOME
Oh man I hate this trailer, not because it isn´t awesome, which it is, but the kind of discussion it generated just made me go mad with the insanity of some of the arguments.
I should probably go spend more time with my family rather than play that game.
Or any others.
Have you guys played the Dragon Age 2 demo? Seems like they've taken people's comments on how the "combat was boring," and spiced it up. It's a big push away from classics like BG2 which I thought the first DA combat resembled (though not as intricate). Stun is still your best friend. The menu system is pretty slick looking.

I'm downloading it now.
I'm pretty sure it's not going to be awesome enough to overcome the nerd rage the combination of a $60 price tag and EA's whole "preorder for the Bioware Signature Edition...unless you want it on Steam!" shenanigans cause.

Sixty dollars and dumbshit preorder shenanigans are the least source of nerdrage going about that game.
Yeah, I tried playing K&L2, but just couldn't get into it. Even though I was able to force myself to finish the first one. There's just something off about how it controls
I played an hour and a half of K&L2, grimly determined to make it to the end. I couldn't take it. For me, there really is no redeeming feature to that thing.

If you were that far in you might as well have finished it :P

This isn't a joke
Keep in mind that I had to re do a good chunk of some levels. Once because the scripting broke. Two other times because the game crashed after some fairly lengthy gameplay with no checkpoints.
The "features" list for these games is always my favourite:
* Detailed scenery in 3D graphics
* Intriguing, ongoing story
* Weather effects, day / night shift
* Various tasks
* Long lasting fun factor
* Free choice of the level, once you have accomplished all tasks
* Extensive background information
* Intuitive control via keyboard and mouse Info
* Trees!
What could the story possibly be? Various tasks? Long lasting fun factor? Trees?? Okay, I added that last one in.
Who knows where we left the Men of War thread? I know there's already one, and I'd be a bad person to start a new one anyway. I tried google, but couldn't seem to locate it. Assault Squad comes out tomorrow, and it would be cool if we could wrangle up a few folks.

I'm pretty sure that in the forum's current search-less state, you could probably be forgiven for recreating a thread that has apparently been lost to the mists of time

I don't think it is.
Germans actually go bat-shit crazy for these simulators. I think Germany is the main market for this type of game.
Wow really? That's... kind of awesome. Gamer culture at work.
...what did I miss? :P
Steam | XBL
It's good to see the Steam thread's back to normal :P
I took it as a Germans are boring joke.
I'm so sorry.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: DA2 demo takes place during the destruction of Lothering, then the rest of the game will take place in another country. So no big deal.
That trailer was great. Holy crap. I hadn't even heard of the game, but it's now on my list.
To be a total pedant, the biggest stereotype of German board games is that they're low-complexity, especially compared with American games.
In all seriousness, if someone started a game on for this, it could be cool to start a co-op farm.
Also, gotta love any game that sticks you in an extended escort mission in the first 10 minutes. I made it to the parking garage and said fuck it.
Clearing things up.
Why I fear the ocean.
If you were that far in you might as well have finished it :P

I'm only half-sure you're joking.

Me and Drake had a pretty fun time at it... even if Drake *never* saves me when I'm about to die.
I remember finding out you could fly the crop duster. My young mind = blown.
SimAnt was another great one that ate up a ton of my pc time.
Then there was uh, sim earth? I think, all I remember of that one was making dragons and letting them loose on the world.
Once they release the FernGully expansion.

I should really give level 2 another go sometime
That's because you are always on the other side of the map, silly!
We need to finish it up this weekend. I'm having a blast at it.
That one bit... man. So fucked up. Where do they keep the guns!?
Sure the game has some warts, but I'm with Lawndart on this one. It's a stylish, nightmare ride of fucked-upness.
My favorite thing was getting my cows into town and seeing them get run over by cars.
SimEarth was awful, at least to my young mind then that couldn't figure out how it worked or why the graphics were so boring.
