I'm really careful about spoilers, and PA is great at respecting that but the rest of the internet is not. So I did not google this request because I don't know where to go without spoilers and from what I hear, BS:G is the type of show I'm 1. Fortunate to not have spoiled already and 2. Should watch before it gets spoiled.
So- what is the correct viewing order? (Caprica will go after everything else though, I'm not going back for the prequel)
I've started with the mini-series which Netflix attached with Season 1. I hear there are specials. Are they already in the right order on Netflix? Thanks! My wife and I are switching to BS:G until Doctor Who comes back in the Spring. It looks like we're in for depressing space before we get back to whimsical space.
Watch the miniseries then the show. The web specials are separate from the main story and it doesn't really matter if you watch them chronologically (they're spread out just a bit over the last season if I recall correctly) or all at once at the end.
And Caprica actually doesn't tie into it too much, you could watch it before or after or whatever, though obviously they intended it to be watched afterwards.
1. The miniseries (2 Episodes)
2. Season 1 (13 Episodes)
3. Season 2.0 (20 Episodes total)
3. Season 2.5
4. Season 3 (20 Episodes)
5. Razor, the made-for-TV movie
6. Season 4.0 (20 Episodes total)
7. Season 4.5
8. The Plan, the made-for-TV movie
Each of these are sold separately as DVD sets, just FYI. I'm not sure how Netflix orders them.
Fantastic. Thanks!
Edit: Set up my Netflix Queue, only streaming that is missing is "The Plan" which they have in DVD format. Razor is tacked onto the beginning of Season 4.

Ya they double dipped you for that. They released Razor all by itself first and then once Season 4 rolled around, they included it in the box set. So I have 2 copies of it.

Some people are really angry about the ending of BSG and will tell you not to watch it all the way through. I suggest you watch it all and decide for yourself.

It's better than the ending of Lost, that's for sure.

as a slight addendum, there are 2 sets of webisodes:
-"The Resistance" takes place before Season 3 starts and is somewhere on the S3 discs. (possibly on the last disc for whatever reason) Nothing vital is revealed, so don't stress about switching discs around, but they're worth checking out.
-"Face of the Enemy" takes place between the 2 halves of season 4. They are not included in the dvds, but may still be up on the scifi website/elsewhere on the net. The events in these ones directly inform the motivations and actions of certain characters in later episodes and IMO should be watched in the proper order.
Ok, thank you all for indulging me in Resurrecting this thread. But I am super sensitive to spoilers, but just saw the comic books. Where in the series to they fit? I'm looking at BSG #0 on Comixology from April 2006.
Thanks for indulging my fear of spoilers and helping me watch this in order. My wife and I are WAY into this, and just finished season 2.0 last night!

Excellent suggestion but (in my opinion) season 1 is TOUGH to get through. Hang in there though, seasons 2-4 are most certainly worth it.

4. Resistance Webisodes

Then stop.

Yup. Watch the full show in the intended order, nothing less.
Exactly! Thanks guys! I've set the Netflix order, so we can lock the thread.
