My xbox 360 won't synch/ faceplate won't light up- SOLVED!

The xbox 360is a few years old. It turns on/ loads fine, but the face plate won't light up, and even though the synch button on the controller works, the one on the console doesn't seem to. It's a wired-in controller, and it's getting power.
This post seems to explain it, according to the answeer I either need a new RF board, or a new Xbox. =(

EDIT: SOLLLLVVVED! My buddy switchedo ut the RF module and it did the trick.
