IN ADDITION TO THAT A finger on the blade allows a little more control when trying to poke a knife into an armor joint. There's nothing wrong with that image.
EDIT: Yes, Blackbird, there are different races with unique abilities. they've said that at least 6 times.
Oh my fucking god, can you people be more pedantic?
This is more one person being pedantic and everyone else telling him he's blind/a silly goose.
Jeez, could you all just calm down? There's not even anything serious to be argued about, I just pointed out something, you all said I'm wrong, can we leave it at that now? Guess I'll have to start being super-serious at all times around here.
If anyone still wants to argue (though I wouldn't know why), please PM me instead, it's not like anyone else agrees with me.

Seen this? http://bit.ly/fonSmM Well, it's legit. The reward? How about a key that gives every Bethesda game ever, past or future, on Steam?
Yeah, they're not exactly backing away from this.
That's...not really that impressive an incentive.
I dunno, I mean on the one hand messed up kid, on the other hand getting every bethesda game that comes out for free for the rest of your life is pretty cool. couple that with bethesda owning id, that's a lotta games.

No. Bethesda does NOT own id.
ZENIMAX does. ZeniMax also owns Bethesda.

No it's not. That's not that many games, especially when you can get them as a package on Steam for like a hundred bucks during a sale. Then, you're looking at maybe a game every two years?
The "everything released on Steam past and present" thing auctioned off at the Child's Play charity dinner is much more impressive. (Or was it all Valve games?)

Could've sworn it was Valve games-only, along with something about Portal 2 I can't remember. Maybe a demo or beta.
If it didn't feel like the armour was so deliberately set in levels. Steel is better than iron: that means it offers more defence, has more health, is worth more money, and is heavier, with all the numbers going up in proportion. Something which permits a tactical choice, as opposed to just picking how scaled up you want all the standard armour multipliers to be.

TIE did that, and no one loves that mod but me.
While I like the sound of this, it kind of seems like the only real tactical choice is going to be armor vs weight and armor vs speed and that is pretty much already covered by the Light/Heavy split (though admittedly I still miss medium armor). They certainly could add in stuff like making some armor more resistant to certain damage types like in AD&D, but the use of that would be very questionable unless certain enemy types heavily favored one kind of weapon and even then it would be a pretty bad design decision. Some armor types favoring elemetal resistance over armor would be pretty damn boss but that base is already kind of covered by enchantments.

Or you could look at other stats: make armour health more variable, how much it interferes with your magic, how enchantable an item is. That's all stuff you can do in the Morrowind construction set, IIRC, but it was never really explored: give metal armour a good protection/weight ratio and decent health, but it's not very enchantable and interferes with your magic a lot; mineral armour (glass, ebony, amber) has a bigger weight hit but doesn't interfere with magic; organic armour (leather, fur, lacquer - and clothes, for that matter) is lightweight with high enchantability but low health. That'd be a little better than having fur < leather < chainmail < elven < glass on every single statistic.
Additionally, give armour and clothes in general a style bonus, so (for example) wearing knight plate commands respect, ebony commands admiration, daedric commands fear and loathing.
Wow. That music is brilliant, with the male voice choir and everything.
Edit: and dragon-shouting? As epic as I imagined it all those years ago when I read the Skyrim fluff on my school's Internet connection one free period.
It looks amazing. This year is going to be incredible.
I like the look of the notion that you slay dragons to absorb their power.
I'm all for Dragons being the new 'Oblivion Gate'. Setting out to track down a dragon and finding it and battling while the FANFUCKINGTASTIC music crescendos in the background...

I remember reading that they will just patrol certain areas of the map and if you aren't strong enough to fight them they will just fuck you up if you enter that area. They really want to make the dragons a constant presence to be feared / be wary of.
Just pleeeeeease let the animations actually look like this.
Actually the animations were the only thing that felt off to me in the trailer. Especially after multiple watching.
Aside from that it looks very good/gorgerous
Really? Could you go a bit more into detail, name some examples?
Of course most of the footage was in third person, which makes it a bit harder to judge how it'll look from the characters point of view, but the executions, spells and even the first-person charge-attack seemed to be pretty nicely animated. Nothing ground-breaking, but more then I'd hoped for actually.

I also read that the dragons don't just patrol the area, as in flying over them in set paths, but react to cities and creatures as well. One article mentioned the possibility of the player character seeing a burning town which had been attacked by a dragon. Could just be a static event though, of course.

Its better. No question. It still feels a bit off though. More the main chars animation.
Its too early to make a judgment on that anyway. Maybe some parts were even sped up for the trailer which gave me that impression.

If he wants to grab that knife by the blade then by god he will!
I never asked for this!

It was a few years back though what I'm thinking of. Back when Steam was just the thing you launched to play CS Source.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.

My coworkers probably wouldn't bat an eyelid.
I do have a ski hat with horns on it, incidentally.
I like you.
Definitely wearing it to the midnight launch if there is one, though.

Description/Impressions?
I'm such a sucker for epic sounding music and the bit where the dude shouts and a bunch of ice washes over the land was fucking great.
Just pleeeeeease let the animations actually look like this.
Also Max Von Sydow is a badass narrator.

Some bits I gathered.
- Nice showing of some of the magic spells, AoE fire burst, some kind of electric bolt.
- Execution style finishers for normal combat as well as stealth.
- Awesome looking towns and cities ( can't wait to rob that shit ).
- A little showing of the dragon speak your character can perform.
- Some creatures and locations.
All looking amazing and very well animated.I'm sure there are other pieces people can point out but really I would just watch it as soon as you can for yourself.
I love how your character is just running away and then he's all like " BRING IT ".
Now I can fight you where I want you.
-Still, no spear, what's up with that? I mean, we're going a dragon hunting, right? So where's my dragon lance?
