So I got a hold of a PS2 about a month ago when I found my copy of Monster Rancher 2.

I played that for a bit and got way into unlocking monsters.

Then I remembered that I could play the much better and more fun

It has more, cooler, monsters. And the colors are pretty.

I have a jungle dragon right now and I've only been through half my cds.

    Man putting in CDs to get monsters was a crapshoot sometimes.

    I do remember I got a pretty cool cat thing once in 4.

    Oh and a wolf guy.


    I also remember the horrible cartoon.

    This game is actually fun? I saw the cartoon on fox kids waaaay back and assumed the game was a shitty cashgrab

    you used actual cds to make monsters?

    sounds awesome but how would that work, there's only 1 disc drive in the ps2

    yeah, you'd take out the monster rancher cd and put in the one you're trying

    It had it so you could open the drive when you wanted to "unlock" a new monster.

    It would read the data and then you put the game back in

    My pa tried to open up a godzilla farm in the 1970's.

    It went poorly.

    I remember I got this rad velociraptor dude

    then it turned out he was awful and it made me sad

    then I got the same velociraptor dude, but he was on fire

    and he was awesome

    I had this badass Mochi, I think, that would tear shit up in the tournaments in the original. Then some catcreature thing that was way too strong to be in a tournament that early blew fire on it and it died that night. I was so pissed.

    That's why I always advocate Gamera farming.

    Start smaller, grow up to defend all of Earth's children, somewhat less radioactive.

    Much better for a novice.
