So, apologies if this has been answered already but is there gonna be an euro PA guild ?
I am thinking about starting one on Bloodiron (PvP server) or on some PvE server, depending on what people want.
I would call the guild "Planary Arcadia".
If enough EU players message me about it, I'll get something rolling!
Me and Louie are mega fucking casual but we would likely be down with this if enough people were interested. Currently we were planning on just joining the American crew as the ping is fine.
Oh I am also pretty casual, don't worry. The guild will just be for fun and profit.
I guess we'll talk about things when the servers are actually up
I would definetly join an euro pve guild, as the time difference on the US server would make things really akward.
I absolutely love the classes in this game, there are so many atypical classes mixed in with the normal archetypes.
The first one I made was a Just/Shaman/Sent, which I loved, but everybody seems to be talking about Justicar as a tank, I really liked the idea of being a main healer thats doing some dps while I'm at it. Are Justicars not really effective as main healers?
I am really attracted to a straight up buffer type role, so I tried bard as well, but I couldnt decide what my other souls should be with it. Archon seems like it might fit the buffer/dps role I like as well.
What I want to know is the differences in ability from using 2handed weapons as cleric, to 1 handed weapons and something offhand (book, shield). Which one is better?

So a quick question for the people voting against RP for the PvP server.
Are you voting against RP because you don't want to actually roleplay? If we went to the RP server you wouldn't need to roleplay and I'm pretty sure our guild wouldn't make it a requirement either. It would just be nice to have the tighter rule on douchebags and terrible names.
Well I had fun in the open beta getting my warrior to 40. I made a rogue just to try it out and got him to 20. I was really liking running around as an assassin and a bard in warfronts. Then one of you guys were ranting about how awesome being a terrorist (saboteur) was so I gave that a shot. Blowing shit up in warfronts was fun!
Now I don't know if I want to roll a warrior or rogue as my main!
Damn you trion for making fun builds!

The beta servers went down with level 50 elite tree monsters stomping into the sanctum and fighting the king. Just after we barely killed a level 44 elite fire guy that teleported around, put down huge fire aoes that nuked giant waves of players, and did a massive knockback throwing people off the sanctum bridge.

Clerics in general are balls at dps. I mean, my 15 warrior (pally/war/BM) was killing level 18s about twice as fast as my level 18 Justicar (with druid/sham). In terms of healing, you'll have to take a more healing-oriented soul, like Warden, to be an effective main healer. Justicars are very decent tanks, but their heals are very lackluster.

What I want to know is the differences in ability from using 2handed weapons as cleric, to 1 handed weapons and something offhand (book, shield). Which one is better?
Two-handed weapons are generally better due to higher stats and spellpower. I could not get a 1h+totem with the stats to match a 2h, not even with augmented Artificed totems. It is a shame since the totem/book casting animations are so cool. Maybe they will be equal at the level cap.
Justicar tanks are the only clerics that require a 1h+shield. I suppose pure healers running instances might use a 1h and int totem for more mana too.
One thing that made me majorly go "derp" was the fact that the stats affect the callings differently, apparently. A Cleric gains more Spell Power from Wisdom, flat out. But a Mage gains more from Intellect. Mind you Intellect isn't a terrible thing, increases muh spell crit :>

Yeah, Clerics are just fine at dps, and might even have the best in terms of AoE. The reason you were doing shitty DPS is because you picked Justicar, a tank spec and you were only lvl 18 where I'm pretty sure they have 0 of their hard hitting abilities.

My chosen role was very very nice, powerful damage as well as very good healing.

Whats your talent tree like? I'm still trying to settle on a good role, though I did enjoy my tanking Shaman/Justicar/Sentinel role.

You won't sway me with your 17 levels of additional experience with the class!
At any rate, I think I'll be sticking with my Pally. I'll probably swap BM for Champion when I hit 30, though, unless there's a better Warrior soul for just putting 5 points into.

Well, Sunday confused me - I was dead set on a champion for headstart, but I bought another profile for my rogue and respecced her to Ass/Blade/Rift and was having an absolute blast - I think I'm going to go rogue now for HS, very versatile class (can technically do all 4 roles). I'll be on the PvE server as an outfitter to make leather for myself and bags for myself and everyone else.
What's a good pairing of souls if I were to main a Nightblade Rogue? I liked having the Assassin poison for the first few levels but most mobs would be nearly dead by the time they got close to me.

Arthil, what guild name won?
I didn't really put the guild choices up in a way that one could 'win' it was more to get a consensus over the general preferences of everyone.
However because I'm pretty sure SOMEONE tried to skew the results given that we have 120+ votes on it, I'll just leave it to a coin toss or other random thing.

After playing all the classes and quite a few soul combinations, I really really liked the Bard. I just couldn't go back to my chloromancer after it. Also played a warrior up to 20 and think I like damage more than tanking, even tho my Reaver/Warlord/Void build took no damage ever. But I've always had a hard time tanking.. and in this game I got a feeling tanking is going to be rough with the availablility of pets and folks not turning off thier taunts. I ended up liking the Shaman alot more than I thought I would as well. I hope thier damage ends up being solid cause it seemed decent.
But alas, I'm skeerood as I can't actually afford the game right now. I'll probly get it in a month or two after release. I just hope my bud who also got into it isn't going to be burned out by then.

Hmm...start a new thread to do guild name polls so it only allows once per user? Could have the threads killed afterwards?
Well, we could do a guild thread after launch. WoW has several guild threads.
Also, Hartsman actually posted here at one point?
That's WoW, which sadly has to be given special treatment since it's the biggest fuck-off thing ever. Otherwise the guild information has to remain within the OP of the thread.

Warden/Sentinel/Cabalist for healing with some fighting ability,
Or Bard/Riftstalker/Saboteur for brokeness,
Or just admit I hate myself and play a elementalist heavy mage.
