I think I'm finally going to give ranked play a shot this weekend. Solo, probably, because none of my buddies play this. What should I know about ranked to not be a fuckin scrublord? Runepages, picks, stuff like that?
Not that much different than normal really. Just play champs you know how to play and adjust. The only thing different is the draft mode. You may want to make choices based on what the other team picks.

About a year+ ago, Solomid was the only livestream available. Needless to say, it was way better than work at work. Anyway, one day I decided to I log into their then-public vent and idle in their LFG channel. Eventually, someone asks who this Zoloft guy is. So it goes:
Me: "Yeah, just wanted to say thanks for the livestream, it makes work suck less."

I don't want to be at the very top of the ladder, I agree with Roku, it sounds like 1800-1900 is the sweet spot where you play with the same people but have not-awful queue times.
Anyways been messing around with LB builds in botmatches. I didn't realize the CD on her Q and ult were so low with CDR. I can easily see you exploding two people in a fight, one at the beginning and one at the end.
Something like:
-Doran Ring start into Meki Pendant into Sorc Shoes + Haunting Guise for strong early game
-Turn Meki Pendant into DFG
-Deathcap
-Void Staff if it goes superlate
-Lots of blue elixirs at likely times for teamfights (33% CDR without blue buff)

I notice he's playing Sion and pushing a bottom lane tower with teammate Sivir. I also see...him. I guess he does the person-in-stream thing. Ok whatever.
LocoDoco: "Ok so this Sivir just used her ulti so I'm gonna also use my ulti to melt this tower."
*I look at his mini map above his asian face and see he has 4 inc*
LocoDoco: "Alright so I'll stay on this tow..."
Announcer: "You have been slain!"
LocoDoco: "OMG THAT SIVIR... THAT SIVIR JUST TROLLED LIKE.... OMG... THAT SIVIR TROLLED..."
Me thinking: "I guess must have preferred 2 deaths for 1 tower instead of 1 death for no tower?"
LocoDoco: "THAT SIVIR JUST LIKE... TROLLED...OMG I CAN'T... THAT SIVIR... TROLLED" ad nauseum
Her ratios are high enough that you can skimp a bit on mpen through mid-game and take some extra AP.
In teamfights you're basically an anticarry, then generally in mop-up you blink around rooting and silencing as opposed to bursting down a 2nd target.
The whole webcam thing is just stupid though. No one cares to watch some dork look at a monitor. This isn't like two girls, one cup reaction videos.
In general yeah, like Grackis, he can just turn that shit off
Loco is hilarious to watch playing because his reactions are so dramatic/crazy
He gets a player he doesn't like on his team, yells, throws his hands over his head, kicks over his chair, then jumps on his bed in the background and buries his head under his pillow
That is just the kind of dude he is, and it is funny to watch

And with Boots 3 and +Move Speed items (Trinity, FoN, Zeal/Phantom, Frozen Mallet, Red Buff) no one can escape.
Shen is not a true carry, the way you and I play him is more closely an Off-Carry. I consider this a perfect tank. You do enough damage to warrant attention and focus fire, but you are durable enough to take the punishment while the real carries freely destroy the enemy.
I like the Sheen over the Frozen Mallet because you can always turn the Sheen into a late game Trinity. You can save the Giant's Belt for a Warmog's since the other Giant's Belt is used for the Sunfire Cape.
I said I use frozen mallet in place of warmogs. I find it overall a better item for shen. I really dont like the idea of trinity on shen. You arnt multiplying a lot of damage with its proc. I think a wriggles is a better idea. Because free wards are awesome.
Ive never gotten to the point of completeing a build on shen ever. I always win before that.

She's an auto-attacker. Ridiculously good jungler (if you have attack speed runes). Good solo laner. Good in a side lane with a stun or another snare. Snare/Stun, Jump, and Sniping ult to chase people the fuck down. Stupid health regen (her W [life gain, not life steal], Wriggles, and her Ult - especially when it hits multiple targets).
