Hmmm I don't think so, we pretty much just get on one and if the teams are constantly being stupid, we just go to another one.
I used to play a lot of SoC Soldiers of Chaos, because it's almost always full, but the admins will go spawn camp immediately, even if all points haven't been captured. Oh and the server doesn't kick AFK players, so you'll sometimes be stuck on the team with 3 dudes standing in spawn the whole match.
Spotting is weird. i like that the orange triangle follows folks, but I also feel its a bit silly.
Realistically it should stick as long as SOMEONE sees them. Gives the illusion of great communication. Its one of my favorite parts about BC2. In other FPS if I see a dude running around in the distance ill feel compelled to chase. Here I just spot and go about killing dudes around me and assume a teammate will take advatnage of the big orange traingle near them.
I use spotting most to shoot people through walls easier. Especially Wooden walls and those covere chain link fences. You wouldn't believe the number of times wherein I'll shoot at someone, spot them, move behind a shoot through-able wall and they'll cease shooting.
It's hilarious.

Is there any way to tone down the bloom? Like I still want it, but god damn. It was fine in the snow mission at the beginning because of the whole snowblind thing.
But now I'm in the jungle and anywhere that isn't under a canopy of trees is blown-out white. Even skin glows.

Switch bloom to "false"
You can only turn it on or off, no middle ground.

That's how spotting works actually, the triangle remains as long as you keep on watching the target (I'm not sure if other people targetting it affects this) this is why sometimes you have people stay spotted for a long time, someones constantly keeping their crosshair on them.

My main qualm with spotting is when i can see someone but the game tells me I don't.
I know what a squad of men looks like when they are behind a tree, I can see their legs! thankyou!
That might have to do with the distance though. I want to play some BC2, so I will probably hop on tonight. Ya hear?
Heard.
And Carbon, that actually was the sole time I have ever won Valparaiso instead of just having fewer MCOMs to go. Good flying, except for that one time with the chaos.

No, no, that was also good.
I would argue that it was BETTER that way. More exciting when you switch pilots out midflight if one gets shot.
Though I've had plenty of wins on Valparaiso, almost all my attempts as attacker get stopped at "the hill". It's usually only when the other team is either filled with cowards, or if you retain chopper dominance through that section, that you end up pushing through to the end.
That hill is almost always characterized by the other team pulling out Gustav with the Mk2 Explosives against us. The rest of the map is pretty enjoyable though, and it's pretty conducive to the play style of a VSS Sniper.

Is anyone playing BC2 on 360, or is this thread pretty much exclusively PC?

We have a rockin' paintball arena around here, right in the middle of the rainforest. It's divided into five sections. The first is a standard wooden cover-based arena. Bunch of walls with windows and fire points, about 100m square area in a little clearing.
The second is about 400m of open rainforest, complete with gullies, rotted out logs and branches and leaves fucking everywhere. This arena is for a CTF game. Big ass petrol drum in the middle of the arena, either team has to plant it in the enemy base. You have to take your time, get in close and hammer away at the enemy team with what basically amounts to guerrilla tactics. In my case, it was to lie prone at the edge of a valley about 40m from the petrol drum, cover myself in leaves and debris, dig a little trench to lie in and hammer away at anyone who ran for it.
The third arena is designed for sniping. It's a huge expanse of bamboo forest where you must literally crawl through the mud in order to not be heard. Bamboo leaves and bark is fucking loud when you stand on it. The objective is basically in the same vein as Rush in BC2. Get through the forest, grab the enemy team's object and you win. Except it's defenders and attackers, not both teams going for the other one's objective. Tough shit.
The forth is a long, narrow corridor of rainforest with some seriously rough terrain. Ditches over 2m deep, mud, mangroves and lots of trees. The objective is basically 2 flag CTF. Terrifying bloody arena.
The fifth is the main event. CTF in a massive wide open valley, each team on opposite sides of the ditch. Tonnes of tires and logs at waist height and some massive gumtrees for cover. This lasts literally half the day with about four rounds played on it.
So yeah. Shit's pretty awesome. You get facemasks, camo overalls and you pay about $15 for 100 paintballs. I went through five hundred when I played.
I play on the 360 every now and then. The majority of people in the thread are on PC though.
Sup.
Talking of. Is it just me, or has the console version of hardcore been made less 'hardcore' at some point since release. Just been getting back into it, and I could swear that at launch one or two shots would end someone, whereas now it takes like a third of a clip.
I like paintball. It's a shame suriko isn't a human being.
Hey, not my fault my state went completely insane about firearms and ended up badly overreaching with legislation made in a panic.
There were rumours a while ago of the premier stepping in to do something about it, with a paintball company lobbying to build a center down here, but it seems to have gone nowhere. Such a shame, it looks like a blast to play.
Australia is a shithole of censorship and overreaction.
Im pretty sure you're talking about America. Maybe not on the censorship front, but we're the king of overreaction. Actually, I'll just say we're the kings of improper reactions.

My mind is stupid for have read state and not premier.
In any case, I have a question for any of you who have played ARMA. Are Humvee guns actually useful in that game? I really love opening up on enemies with that gun but with almost everyone carrying an AT gun and the crazy accuracy of guns in this game it's just a great way of getting killed.
Yes, but AT assets will ruin your day even faster.

Humvees are alright in this game, assuming you can keep moving. The jeep on Harvest Day with the grenade launcher can wreck shit, if you can avoid enemy tanks.
