    sup guys

so the day i was supposed to ship i was told i would be delayed at least a month for a medical thing. i stayed off most games 'cause i didn't want to get distracted or fall into old habits

turns out that medical thing might disqualify me, so i might be playing a lot more of this soon

also, That_Guy, i think i'm going to PAX East

Not a single bit. Literally the only way I got that pin was by using the accuracy spec constantly and bum-rushing people oblivious to my presence. The only thing, literally the only thing that gun is good for, is using it to finish off crippled opponents who have somehow survived the barrage of bullets to the torso or the 40mm shotgun to the face. I can kill people in under half the time with the fucking M9.

Really? God, I'm always winning close range firefights with it, kills 'em in half a second flat. And I don't even use the accuracy spec. I consider it an ace in the hole, really. I pull it out when entering a close range environment like a building, and 90% of the time the first person I run across dies without getting two shots off on me, unless they're using a shotgun. If they aren't facing me to start with, they're dead without getting a chance to turn around.

Since getting my new graphic card and 24" monitor, I have been playing a bit more recently. Unfortunately one of the servers I've been frequenting (soldiers of chaos) banned me (I presume) for doing too well and killing the admin too many times :P
I need to find more servers to play on. BC Supreme is fairly decent for a mixed mode server, but I'm still looking for good rush only and conquest only servers (preferably where they don't ban you for killing the admin ;-))

I'm gone this weekend, but next week I'd be up for shootin mans.

3D literally halves your framerate, so I don't think I'll be using it. Having a better response time and less ghosting will be really nice.

I play that server a lot, it's the no-pod-surfing server heh. It has really terrible admins that just love to teamstack. 80% of the time that server is about one team absolutely rolling over the other one.

Speaking of servers with teams rolling people...

I'm slightly ashamed to say this, but I've just had it up to here with joining a game and getting rolled by a bunch of spawncamping fucks. I now just wait until I can switch teams, then run around pistol killing any brave souls who make it into the base. Sometimes I let them take it just for fun. Literally every problem with spawncamping on Rush would be solved by having the Defenders confined to their base and five meters around it. Give the attackers a good, long run that the defenders can't enter so they have a chance to set up good squad spawning positions and then let it become a war of attrition. Finite waves of unrestrained attackers hammering on infinite but confined defenders would be a much better way to play the game and it would result in much more intense battles and less chokepoints.

So wait wait....you have high end PC with a new $500 GPU just put in it but you have been using a 20' LCD that is so rinky dinky it ghosts still?

Last weekend I had the ASUS 120Hz 3D monitor here to try out. After the 3D gave me a headache (3D movies never give me one) I decided to try out the higher refresh rate alone on some games. The monitor locks it out unless the 3D Vision is in play. Its also like one of the 3 only 120Hz monitors out there too so good luck.

How would you balance that against tank sniping and other attackers hanging back, sending in RPGs/mortar strikes? The defenders need to be able to put themselves in a position to defend against it.

I guess they could make it impossible for a tank to drop a building on an MCOM/hit the MCOM directly, from a distance...

You can't simultaneously mortar and shell an entire base. There will always be somewhere to run. As for tank balancing, I'd give them a much lower rate of fire.

For what system? There are hundreds of games going on PC version as we speak. If you're on PC, try resetting your server filter options and search again.

If you're on one of the console versions, I have to imagine there are people playing, but you're at the mercy of the matchmaking system. Good luck to you if that is the case.

I sometimes get issues on BC2 360 with it saying no servers found. The pop up usually comes up immediately for me which might mean there is an issue connecting. Its very rare and I still find rather full games when I do get on.

BC2 beat out Reach as my work out game on my recumbent bike so I am on like every evening for an hour. Gets tense when you combine FPS with cardio.
