At least we finally get to find out who the "Rat Man" is now too. That one's been bugging me since Portal ended and we never found out.

Also, in case anyone's wondering about the binary on page 8, it just spells out "The cake is a lie."

I really wish I would have read that before I spent 10 minutes plugging all of that into a binary translator.

Translator? Pffft, kids these days. They can't even be bothered to learn the values of the ASCII character set.

Aperture is Black Mesa all along? Or maybe the HEV suits are common technology and it's never explained in HL2 where the gravity gun is from. It could potentially come from Aperture.
We know that Aperture and Black Mesa are competing research facilities. The HEV suit is just the universe's high tech equivalent of a NBC suit so I imagine facilities dealing with hazardous materials would have them handy

17:42: The decoding of the bathysphere has finished! See Emails from Gabe Newell for the finished translation. It evidently refers to 1... 2... 3... KICK IT!. There are numbers and symbols in between the letters of the translation, that together form "4/19/2011 7AM = 4/15/2011 9AM". What this means is anyone's guess.

I kinda hope that's not it, since I ordered for PS3 on Amazon, and would then definitely be getting it on the 19th. It would kill me to know it's out there and playable, but I can't have it yet. Unless of course Valve arranged something awesome with distributors, but that seems really unlikely.

The current release date for it is the 19th. I'm reading it as saying that the release date equals an earlier date (the 15th) which could mean its coming out earlier, I'm not getting my hopes up though especially since I'll be away on that date anyway.

Probably to tell you when it was going to unlock on Steam originally

As for why only four days? How should I know, maybe they just wanted to do something cool for their PC fans, who are still their bread and butter

You'd have to read through the decryptions and whatnot to get the idea.

It's a long shot, and might be false... but we'll see. I already took a vacation day for the 19th, so I wouldn't be all that happy about it :P

Because Portal 2 on PS3 is going to include some Steam integration, is it a possibility that the title will be downloadable from PSN? I don't know if there's any logic to my question, but I'm just thinking... digital distribution service on PC, digital distribution service on PS3...
