Sully and Chrom is Chrom's best support option by far through A rank at least, for me. And judging by his other S links I've seen, that is also his best option.
Sooooo.... If your units die in parley, they also die forever.... Whoops. Restarting the game now.
Kill Florina over and over. You can literally drop off one unit or unit pair with 15 defense or so... and just skip enemy turn endlessly. No damage, get xp, repeat.
Fun fact: on Lunatic, the archers in Florina's map give 1 xp per kill. (They're also bloody hard, because you start the map in a vulnerable position.)
On my first playthrough, I lost Miriel in the free DLC map. She said she was "retreating", so I didn't think she was really dead. Didn't even notice she was missing until seven or eight chapters later (which sucked, because I'd planned to marry her to the avatar).
Olivia is so damn hard to level! She has a really limited range and hps of shitty walmart toilet paper! Kellem's support convos with everyone are the best.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
The gold dlc map is oddly satisfying and because of its handful level 1 thieves is actually a decent place to level up really, really, really low level units you forgot about.
It's kinda like high stakes whack a mole. It's also borderline cheating.
Not even.
I found out today you can see which ones are high level and which are not by looking at their ranking, rather than their level.
Um, not sure if this is the right topic, but here I go:
Downloaded the game last night, since no store had it. Had fun for about 6 hours, but then the game crashed. Booted it up again, and at the exact same spot, the game crashed again. and again.
Has anyone had this issue, I only found a few topics about it on various sites, and the responses have been rather non-helpful 'hur dur, that's what you get for downloading and not having the real thing!'

I have not heard of this issue. You might want to back up your save on your SD card by copying it onto your computer (I think you can do that), then uninstall and reinstall the game, then reinstall your save.
I hope that helps, or that someone more knowledgeable comes along.
Spoiler for possible plot hole at the end of the game that has probably been mentioned before:
Basilio shows up and is like "ha, the Fire Emblem you have is missing its gemstones or I put fake ones in or something, I'm not too clear on this point, but in any case your ritual is screwed!"
And then somehow evil me shows up and is able to become the evil dragon anyway.
So what was the Fire Emblem even for? What was Validar hoping to accomplish with it, if he didn't need it for my character to become the dragon?

Well
Grima is established as being able to be resurrected in one of two ways. One is via the Fire Emblem. The other is via tremendous sacrifice and bloodshed.
Validar's life and the life of Grima's followers were the last thing needed to bring Grima back - but the necessity of them would have been obviated by the Fire Emblem.
In short, Validar would have been able to live, and not die.
Hmm. I really don't think that was spelled out by the game at all, but I suppose you could interpret it that way. Just seems like quite a stretch. Someone in game should've been like "hey, wait a minute..."
Ok how do you actually GET the DLC chapters? I mean I see the DLC in the eShop, but when I select say Champions of Yore 1, it just starts up FE:Awakening and... I don't see any option to actually download/buy it from ingame.

There's a town with a hot pink circle on the south part of your map. Go there to buy and play the DLC. You have to do a mission or two before it shows up.
Want to find me on a gaming service? I'm SwashbucklerXX everywhere.
I have no qualms ever about looking up a recruitment guide for every Fire Emblem game because there's usually at least one total BS one, some guy in the corner somewhere who you have to bring along his sister to talk to him who you haven't used in 10 chapters and you don't even know it's his sister or something.
Or you have to stand on a specific square in a desert with one of two beastmen you have at the time.
Let's say, hypothetically, that I missed recruiting Kellam in Chapter 3. I don't get another chance do I?
Are you saying you failed to notice him
My treatment of Kellam could probably be considered canon.
Seriously though, I didn't see the talk icon pop up so I figured I'd get him at the end of the mission. Didn't realize I'd missed him until 20 hours later.
Next playthrough, I'm going to try and pair up my troops in an effort to get the child characters to have the same hair color as their official art. There's a distinct lack of male characters with red hair though...
Okay at first I thought it was pretty dumb that Sayri, Tiki, and Anna only had like two support options each, and that male avatar was their only S link option.
Well their limited options is still dumb, but I feel less bad about the marriage thing because Tiki and Anna's supports at least have been pretty underwhelming.
The official art just uses the hair color of the mother, as far as I know?
Ayup.
I have this thing in games with numerous outcomes about "developer canon" where I try to make at least one play through where I make my choices based on what I think the "intended" path was based on comments by development staff, that amount of content given to a choice in-game, official works related to the game etc etc. But, yeah, not possible here because there simply aren't red headed dudes in Awakening, and if I made a red headed Avatar then Morgan's art wouldn't fit. Interesting that the team seems to have a thing for red headed chicks though.
MU/Cherche - Levels up slooowwwwly. The beginning of the Valm arc requires lots and lots of Hammer for multiple missions, so she slaughters everything but the support still takes very long. And when it ranks up, it's about her asking seeking MU's help to find a hot stud...for Minerva. I'm consider trying Gregor for her next because I heard that goes really well. I'm considering Lucina for MU just so I can see what Morgan is like, and how bad things go later on in the story.
Tharja/Lon'Qu - This actually is pretty good. Tharja turns the comic-relief evil down a notch to help Lon'Qu out with his women problem, which she learns is just good old fashioned PTSD. She offers to outright erase his memory and she means well, but Lon'Qu knows better than to go through with it. I bet they'll make a mean Noire.
Nowi/Ricken - I did this on the sheer basis that I'm not pairing her up with a grown ass man. There is just no way. It was either this or forever alone for her on a second playthrough.
Cordelia/Frederick - Eww. Everything went well until Rank S. It turns out when she wanted alone time with Freddy to discuss his love life, she wasted it sobbing over Chrom, and he asks her to marry knowing full well she's not over Chrom.
Cordelia/Stahl - Some shit about musical instruments. I still need to unlock Rank S and then I'll choose between the two. I might go this route based on how ridiculous Cor/Freddie is.

I don't think IS thought Cordelia entirely through as a character.
If the Avatar gets up to S rank with Cordelia she doesn't mention Chrom at all. She also doesn't mention Chrom to Severa except vaguely during the little event map sparkly points that increase their support.
Additionally if you marry Cordelia off to anyone early enough in the game it does create some pretty big dialogue inconsistencies in the rest of the game, because it doesn't change her dialogue. The Golden Gaffe DLC map for example has a particularly glaring oversight.

So for example, Chrom + Olivia, Inigo + Avatar will result in three children with those skills.

If you have the free DLC level. Or any level where the boss doesn't move.
Take Olivia. Once you clear the map of everyone but the boss just have one of your units move up and down and have Olivia dance for them.
She gets like 20xp a pop.
"This isn't for everyone, Morgan. It's just for you." *removes mask*
"SAAAAAAAY!"
"Well. Here I am. In the flesh, so to speak."
"Hubba hubba! Awoooooo-ga!"

Out of curiosity, have you tried changing the language settings and seeing if it repeats?

Crashing could be due to a corrupt download...but corrupted saves make it sound like a problem with the SD card.

He's still around
He's just so miffed he will never speak to you, or anyone, ever again

Possibly Donnel/Cordelia. We'll see.
