I find Miriel w/ Nosferatu could basically solo every map in the game at this point. If they can't kill her in a single hit, they can't kill her.
They all try and attack her too since she usually takes the most damage out of anyone in range. And then they all die and she emerges at full health and +1 level.

Wait'll you start looting Aversa's Night books. They're literally higher-end Nosferatus.
Sadly only ten uses, but if you can somehow finagle a dark mage/sorc with Armsthrift, you can do some pretty nightmarish things.

Yea, I have a few of them, but Miriel is still so incredibly broken with the normal Nosferatu I only use it for very special circumstances. Sadly I didn't plan for a sorc w/ Armsthrift, because that'd just be incredible.

You didn't actually have to plan for this!
Cordelia's kid can become a Mercenary and a Dark Mage.
Yeah that probably only works on normal though. Anything higher than normal, you probably don't have the luxury of grinding her face into the dirt until she can cast spells, what with that obnoxious hidden level mechanic.
Ah, I don't see as it'd be a problem. Mercenary -> Hero -> Sorcerer is a perfectly fine way to build a person, and she won't build up any hidden levels that way.
Granted her magic stat will suck until you switch her to Sorcerer but if that bothers you too much you can switch her to Dark Mage instead and get more build-up time. Absolute worst case you end up with a hidden level of 20, and she won't build up too slow that way.
Henry might be the best father for that? I dunno.
You're right, using Miriel's kid is probably a lot easier.
LV10 Merc and Donnel has already maxed out everything save HP, Mag, and Res.
I'm debating whether to just seal him over to something else or, since he's still earning great xp, to just take those 10 levels of stats. More Res and HP is always nice, and the crazy completionist in me kinda wants him to max Mag as well, even though he has zero use for it.

I say keep him until he hits 20. Having a max HP unit is always fun, and Donny even moreso. More Res never hurt nobody either.
But then you can also make him a Warrior for Cunter then swap him over to Hero. He'll cap out everything in the end anyway.
I'm in Chapter 19, and I gotta decide if I wanna move on with the story or keep playing house with my virtual dolls and getting more children. There's so many things to do! Right now I could recruit Kjelle, Yarne, Noire (who will be ridiculous since Donny is her father) and Gerome, and I'm working on a Lon'Qu/Miriel S Rank to get a fast, skillful Laurent. I also wanna sire a Brady with Gregor so I can make him into a War Monk. So many choices!

This game has dark magic users that are actually worth using for once? Neat.
I was thinking about the best way to make broken killer streetpass teams.
I don't know if the AI will rally or pair up, I highly doubt it.
I'm picturing a long range flyer that I've used the boots on (move +2) with Move +1 and Pass, so they can walk through opponents and attack anyone anywhere. Obviously they'd have Lethality and Galeforce. Not sure who would be best for this.
Y'know I like that skill and all but in the long run it's not really worth it if he can pass down something more useful. You can always level up more, but some children have no way of earning certain skills (due to gender).

Just about the only must-have gender-exclusive skill Donnel learns is Counter, though.
Is there any character that can become a superbard that has all the rallies?
Female avatar or female morgan - only options. (Rally Spectrum and Rally Love from the DLC bride class being grandmaster and female only. Then Rally Movement, and your pick of two more)
You shouldn't need more than the first two though.
Start with a flier with 8 base move. They need to be able to get the skill Movement +1 from Thief and then Pass from Thief -> Assassin so they can move through enemy units. Deliverer from Wyvern Rider -> Griffon Rider will give them +2 movement when paired up. I'm not sure if Acrobat from Trickster is necessary, since I don't think fliers are ever penalized by terrain.
You get two pairs of Boots in the game which grant movement +2 each. If you can use them both on the same unit, that's +4.
Finally another unit (Dark Flier) needs to use Rally Movement on them for one more movement +1.
With all of this factored in, the unit has 12 permanent movement, 1 granted from a skill, and 3 from actions in battle, for a total of 16 movement range plus the ability to fly without penalty and the ability to travel through enemy units.
So am i the only one here who doesn't want to spend endless time running characters through all their classes and build all the supports?? Half of it is that I just can't stand grinding, and the other half is that even thought the story is pretty low quality I just can't resist playing the next story mission.
Shadow Dragon sold on eBay for $41, edging out the price for downloading Awakening, which just finished as of this writing.
Going to go enjoy that now, but one final question just for kicks: do the character interactions change depending on which gender you pick for your main character? If so, is there a preference to go as one gender over the other, story-wise?

To add to that get two fliers with galeforce, and switch them around for three turns of movement.

Man.
I just learned that you can only use Boots once on a character, but that's ok, give it to both of these paired up fliers. However, pairing with a Trickster and possibly some other classes give +1 to movement as well.

Most of the character interactions are the same, though you can only marry someone of the opposite sex (and therefore you're locked out of about half of the potential highest support levels either way). For immersion purposes, I'd suggest going with the gender you identify with. The story really makes use of your character.

Fair enough. I assumed it was like Persona 3 Portable in that certain character interactions would change completely depending on the gender of your MC. Thus I was briefly wondering if X character came across better as a bro or a potential love interest. Oh well, no harm finding out on my own. Onward!

Well I guess my own opinion on the story...
It started out pretty strong and awesome, almost as good as Path of Radiance. Characters are endearing, you want to solve the various mysteries that are presented like Validar and Marth and the portal in the sky and the Risen appearing. Crazy story stuff happens like the Exalt's suicide and Gangrel being a dick and you can't wait to kill him and find out what the Fire Emblem was destined to do that he wanted it so badly.
But then you do kill Gangrel and two years pass and then some other guy across the sea starts a war which feels totally unrelated to everything that came before. Most of the story there I found really boring and just wanted to get to the end. I didn't know why there was suddenly a samurai girl and her brother and a fat psychopath and people betraying other people and all this. I just wanted to get back to Validar and the Fire Emblem, and we eventually did, but it felt just like much of the game was a side story with little importance to what I really wanted to know and what they had set up. It came together in a good way, but I just did not care for the part of the game dealing with the western continent at all.
But the writing is always good despite that and the supports all tell their own interesting little stories with lots of character, so that's all good.

Eh, it's just way too rushed. And the character development in the main story really pales in comparison to some of the past fire emblems. Radiant dawn and path of radiance especially were miles ahead of awakening's story imo.

Character writing in Awakening is as good as or better than any other Emblem I've played, and that's what I care about chiefly.
The Radiant saga has a better plot perhaps - at least, in a sense - but I care about the characters in Awakening a lot more, and that's more important insofar as story goes for me.

I can't wait to see how some things might change. One male main character support I had was with a girl who was super into me right from the start. But then, another male support I had was with a guy who also seemed possibly into me. In both conversations my main character seemed put off, so I suppose it could be the same either way.
The girl: Tharja is all over the male character, saying that ever since they gazed into each others' eyes she knew she needed him, or something like that.
The guy: Gregor wanted to share his bed for body warmth. Then later, my male character had bizarre dreams about flying with him to the sun and laying his head in his lap, which Gregor said tends to happen, though usually to ladies.
In fact now that I'm thinking about it, Gregor did say "since you're a man, I can let you in on this secret," so I'm definitely sure that some supports must change.

I would've preferred
just one war, like in PoR. Gangrel was a much better character than Ashnard and then they discarded him and gave me a bland nobody to focus on for the second half.
I actually like Walhart a lot better than Gangrel. His motivations for free will are much more interesting than just "insanity". Definitely the best villain in the game and beats out a few other fire emblem villains IMO. Sadly that part of the story isn't really necessary, and then the last few chapters just kinda come out of nowhere. Also, as interesting as the characters are, you find out next to nothing about them outside of supports.
Every time I see that scene with Sumia I think of this.

And I bake all kinds of sweets like a baller, so she makes me want to try my hand at pies some time. I never heard of rhubarb until GLADOS.

So, yeah. Fire Emblem. I need Cherche, Olivia and Maribelle to pop out babies, then I can get back to the main story. I'm thinkin' Vaike with Maribelle because, well, look at her kid. Ricken and Virion are the only other bachelors though, cause I missed that one guy. Cherche/Virion seems a little too obvious, but I'm thinkin' that's the way to go because Olivia/Virion seems worse. From a stat standpoint though, I think the kid of Olivia and Ricken is going to be proper fucked, as I can't stand to level her.
