I guess I'll ask again: can someone please confirm for me that the stuttering issue connected to using KB+M has been fixed before I consider buying this game?

It isn't a widespread issue tbh.
If you do have micro-stuttering, you just have to disable key-press repeat using filter keys.

When you look at items in the quick select wheel, or inventory, they have a small icon near the name. If its a pointy sword its a sharp weapon, if its the head of a hammer, its a blunt weapon.

The thing about guns vs zombies is to make sure you upgrade them and mod them. My pistol drops most infected in 2 shots, most walkers in 4. My shotgun destroys everything and is my go to for butchers. A moded head shot crit will kill any non special infected. As Purna ive been hording ammo way more than I need to, especially since you have a max of 80 bullets with the right skills and that does not include what is already loaded in guns. With a collection of guns you can go a good while without running out of ammo, and if you need it just hit up one of the various human areas. Heck in the jungle you can get pretty much infinite rifle ammo from a repeatable quest that wants canned food.
A quick double tap to the chest, and then a head shot to finish off is how i handle most zombies hordes these days. Or my awesome two handed axe. Or my Wakazashi.
The hit detection is fine actually, the thing is you can mis-judge your distance at times because of the FOV. As for Thugs, I break/chop off their arms then go to town. Because of how beefed up my Logan is, I can often times cut off their arms with throws alone.
Ever since Act 2, it seems like I've lost the capability of doing enough damage to actually chop off a Thug's arms. It, as with everything else, is rather distressing.
Instead I've opted to just use the Blue Skull dev mod because really fuck those guys.
See rams I have zero problem with - they even seem to go down faster than thugs for me, but maybe that's just my perception of it. Wait for them to charge, sidehop, hit them in the back 2-4 times depending on how much time you have, repeat. Usually only takes two times, maybe three, before they're down. I have a nice Diabolical Military Machete that chops 'em up nicely. Whereas with Thugs it's: kick, slice 1-2 times when they're in their 'roar' emote, backthefuckup (sometimes mistime it and get punched in the face), repeat. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that they can't be knocked down (seriously game, not even a jumpkick? Come on), can't seem to even be staggered and their punch is an insta-knockdown which, for some reason, my ex-football player character can't seem to recover from without taking forever.
With sufficient force you can actually knock down a Thug. I know vagrant's managed it playing Sam.
Any blunt with shock can knock down a thug as my little blade 2 electrified baton showed quite a few dicks. Maybe the same can be said for slicing weapons, but I have no idea never used a bladed, thats for my xian run.
Finished the game first time, level 39, 49 deaths 39 hours played. Awesome.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I Love this game, coop is a lot of fun. But there's one thing I really dont like and that's the difficulty and death penalties.
We are on act two and yeah the zombies don't go down as easily and there are more of them but... I dunno. When I die, I lose a few hundred dollars.. that's it. It kind of takes the tension out of everything, and I just have to ignore it to have a good time. I would love a harsher penalty, like losing all your money, or something.

Apparently the amazon download version is unavailable. That sucks, because I got a $25 gift card for my birthday and this is what I intended to spend it on.

Xian Mei is now Lizzie Borden incarnate.
One thing that was weird was the pick of destiny was listed as a blunt but I got the slashing achievement for using it. Also end game finished spoilers.
So in the end you leave poor sinamoi and the rest to get fucked and escape with the hacker? Oh well sucks to be those dicks.
And like columbo (rip) one more thing, should always keep a pistol on you for the awesome weapon swap to blow up propane on some zombie mofuckas.

I didn't even notice that until my co-op buddy pointed it out. That's nice design.
Yeah it really is, I mean its a simple thing, and maybe people who wanted to throw a weapon at it get miffed. But I love it, because it means I can toss and explode them right away and not have to chase after my weapon after.

And now that I've finished a playthrough I can definately say you can hold off on lock picking, at least for me it wasn't a total waste on sam b because I had to get down to modified weapon durability anyway, but as far as intial points? There are better things to put them in.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Good to know about lock picking. I need two more survival points before I can up Logan's Boomerang skill. Stamina Up it is, I suppose.
Well to be honest I rarely found that good of weapon in chests, and I know when you have lock pick you don't see that they need lock picking but I do know what the locked chests look like and I never really found that many to justify it. Maybe if you need to level up a third tree and its the best option, not a terrible one to go with.
And man alive if xians rage is like sams, I'll go there first. My one mistake is not taking "FUCK YOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU!" mode earlier.

The biggest issue with this is that if I don't have a handgun set in my quick swap, it still pulls it out of my inventory but doesn't consider it "equipped" and then I can't swap away from it, I have to open the inventory and unequip and re-equip one of my weapons so I can get switched off the handgun.
Also, it pulled my shotgun up once, even though I had no shells and a ton of handgun ammo for my pistol.
Also of the guns I found shotguns the most useless at least on Sam Bizzle, they just didn't have the same damage/ammo availability storage of others. Maybe on purna they would be better.

That is weird, once I realized though that it swaps to a pistol I always kept one ready in my inventory. Though to be honest at the end of the game for me I had 3 meele weapons, 3 ranged and one explosive equipped and I only really used two of the meele.

Finally got to boot DI up and give the first mission a go ahead.
It's.... okay so far. The controls are super floaty so it being melee focused makes it feel kind of... weird.
I also don't understand why some zombies appear on the mini map and others don't.
I also don't understand why this one guy hasn't completed my quest to give him liquor when I've already given him something like five bottles of Jack Daniels.
I can't join co op games either. It just starts my campaign over, single player style.
But really. The absolute worst part is that you can play a black character who grew up impoverished, does drugs, and speaks in an dialect without proper English. That's just racist.
Also, what is the quick swap button?

As a Purna who also doesn't do more than head shot a punk, anything that makes them more useful is welcome.
I mean, as mentioned when it takes 4-5 headshots to down a walker with a heavy pistol, it's still not quite worth my time.
Just to confirm, the loot system is a wackjob setup in Coop. From what we saw, it all stays the same item type (knife, hammer, etc) but it can be white to one person and a blue to another. Once picked up it stays that item and can be passed. Kind of sucks to have to yell "ITEM DROP COME LOOK EVERYONES".
When I am able to shoot my shotgun, it is rewarding to point-blank a zombie in the chest and knock them back 4 to 5 feet onto the ground.
Headshots killed them instantly, too.
The magnum I found early on doesn't do that much to them, though and I can't use the regular pistol mods on it, sadly.
Yeah, it's just kind of annoying to have what looks to be a goddamn .50 cal and have to plink plink plink zombies to death with it. Like, okay I take out a punk in a couple 2k damage headshots, why do zombies suddenly have thicker skulls and only take 500?

Zombies that show up on the minimap are quest-based mobs, either for a quest you haven't gotten (they are attacking someone and you have to save them) or for enemies that must be defeated to continue.

Read the quest log. You need to give him 5, then 5 more, then finally 5 more for 15 total.
Ok. The checkpoint/autosave feature in this game is fucking bullshit. I had literally about 10 quests completed and ready to turn in. I had to make a lunch appointment and hoofed it back to the lifeguard station, figuring that'd be an ok place to log out. When I got home and booted up my PS3 again, none of those quests were completed and I seriously lost about 2 hours of work. What the fuck.
Why the hell doesn't this game save more frequently or have a "save" feature?

1) I don't find it /that/ floaty but I guess it kind of is.
2) That's been answered
3) Some quests are on-going and you can do them as many times as you like for easy experience- or apparently you can do some of them just 3 times.
4) Quick Swap is the Middle Mouse button... but I'd change that to "q" if I were you.
